SAP-VN (Social Assistance Program For Vietnam) About SAP-VN SAP-VN (Social Assistance Program For Vietnam) is a non-profit,

non-governmental and non-religious humanitarian organization based in Garden Grove, California. It was founded in 1992 by a group of young and caring professionals. SAP-VN was incorporated as a charitable corporation by the state of California under franchise tax board section 23701-d of the revenue and taxation. SAP-VN is a tax-exempt, publicly supported organization under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Services. Objectives of SAP-VN SAP-VN's primary objective is to provide direct relief to poor and needy people, especially orphans and handicapped children, mainly in health care, education and social welfare. All of SAP-VN's relief efforts are carried out directly by SAP-VN's members (from the U.S.) and associates in Vietnam. Funding for SAP-VN's programs in Vietnam primarily comes from private donations and fundraising proceeds. All donations are tax deductible as permitted by law. Medical supplies are donated by local pharmaceutical corporations, hospitals. SAP-VN is managed by a board of seven directors who are responsible for planning, making decisions, campaigning for fundings, monitoring activities, and handling all legal matters. A three-member executive committee is responsible for carrying out and following-up on daily activities which has been decided by the board of directors. None of SAP-VN members or volunteers receives salary or compensation. Newsletters Green Cross is a SAP-VN's quarterly newsletter which publicizes SAP-VN's activities in the U.S. and Vietnam. Green Cross is distributed free to all friends and donors who have contacted SAP-VN. Projects of SAP-VN Orthopedic surgery-founded 1993, known as a chance to walk, free corrective surgery to impoverished disabled children in Vietnam. More than 3,300 disabled children have received help from SAP-VN through this program. Cataract surgery-founded 2005,a gift of sight, provide free surgeries to needy cataract patients in remote rural areas in Vietnam. Cleft-palate/lip-surgery-"A Smile for a Child" program in 1993, SAP-VN has financed more than 1,000 cleft-palate/lip surgeries throughout Vietnam. You can sponsor a child by donating $120.
