Abstract-The Emerging trends in technology has lead to the development of various gadgets and devices for betterment of mankind. Communication is a very important media, which allows long distance information exchanges between large numbers of peoples. Holography is a technique which enables three-dimensional images to be made. It involves the use of a laser, interference, and diffraction, light intensity recording and suitable illumination of the recording. In this technique a beacon beam is transmitted from a receiver to a transmitter. The transmitter generates and transmits a conjugate beacon beam back to the receiver, where it is interfered with a local oscillator beam to form a hologram. A conjugate communications laser beam containing information is subsequently transmitted to the receiver. Since the direction of the conjugate communications beam is fixed and known, the diameter of the filter aperture can be minimized to accept the communications beam while rejecting almost all of the background light. A high-speed detector directly detects the filtered conjugate communications beam. The detector output is transmitted to a demodulator that extracts the information carried by the communications beam. This concept may overcome the communication through video conferencing and develop a new era of communication.

contain the whole information of both reference points. A LASER is used as the light source so the waves are coherent.

Figure 1.1: Holographic storage of information A LASER is projected onto a partially silvered mirror called a beam splitter. This mirror splits the original beam into two beams. One beam travels through a lens that diffuses the light onto the object being recorded. This light, called the object beam, is reflected off the object onto the film plate. The second beam is bounced off a mirror and then through a lens that diffuses the light directly onto the film. This beam is called the reference beam. The same light source needs to be used for both beams so the waves will have perfect intersection points.

INTRODUCTION Communication has become a very important part of our life. With the advancement in the technologies it has been made possible to communicate with people who are at distant places, now videoconferencing has been introduced which is the advancement in the conventional wireless communication. The concept of holographic communication will take the platform of communication to the next level i.e. enhancing the technique of video conferencing. The basic concept behind the holographic communication is same as that of video conferencing but the data encoded at the transmitter side will be the complete image of the person communicating and even the movement of the person is encoded and sent towards the receiver. The receiver decodes the data and with the help of regenerator the holographic image is displayed at the receiver end. Thus the person at receiving end will get a complete image of the person at the transmitting end as if he is talking on one to one basis. This concept can bring drastic changes in the field of communication and may also possibly overcome the conventional video conferencing technique. WORKING Storing Information Unlike a camera, which has only one point of light reference, a hologram has two or more points of light references. The intersection points of the two light waves

Figure 1.2: Recording Motion

To add motion (time) to your holograph, you would turn the object, or move the mirrors and lenses, and shoot again onto the same film. The original waves recorded on the film, will intersect with the waves from the new perspective. This data is recorded using high quality sensors and other high-tech devices and it is encoded and sent towards the receiver. At the receiver end the image is reproduced using 3D projectors, acrylic cylinders and convex mirrors. Hence the person at the receiver end will get a whole 360 degree view of the person at the transmitting end. And also the motion of the person at the transmitter end will be accurately recorded and can be viewed at the receiver and as if the person is actually standing in front of you.

APPLICATION The holographic communication has a wide range of application in the field of communication. Holographic communication will unable us to have a complete 360 degree viewing of the person sitting at the transmitting end and simultaneous communication can be carried out as both of the user will have the holographic image of each other. This will make the sessions very much interactive. It can be equipped at places such as hospitals, colleges, commercial offices and even at home etc. move over it has a wide range of application in defense for military, air force and navy for effective communication. FUTURE MODIFICATIONS The building of this concept into a practical device would be bulky due to the use of various materials like convex mirrors and cylinders. The practical implementation of this concept has been implemented by the researchers of the Human media labs at queens university, Canada who have developed holographic 3D video conferencing which uses 1.8m tall acrylic cylinder and 3D projectors. More modifications can be done by reducing the latency and also reducing the bandwidth. In the near future we can expect holographic discs of the size of wrist watches that can be used for holographic communication. And larger discs for home and military purpose .It can also be equipped in buses cars, aero planes, ships, jets and submarines thus creating a new era in the field of communication CONCLUSION The holographic video conferencing can prove to be a boon in the field of communication. The 360 degree viewing will take the communication to the next level .The practical implementation may be bulky initially but with the advancement the size may also be condensed of the shape of wrist watch. The issue related with holographic communication is the latency, lag and the bandwidth requirement which can be eradicated with gradual research. Hence it can be seen that holographic conferencing will bring drastic changes in the field of communication and will lead to a new era.
