Communicative Approach

Students will learn to use language as a means of expression Students will use language as a means of expressing values and judgments.

Students will learn to express the functions that best meet their own communication needs.

1. Prepare a Narrative that reflect natural use of language 2. Require meaningful use of language 3. Require the use of communication strategies 4. Seek to link language use to context

At first, the teacher will read the Narrative to the students; everyone has a copy of the writing. After that the students will carry out a role play. In groups, students now try to create the dialog using language items of their choice. They are asked to recreate what happened preserving the meaning but not necessarily the exact language. They later act out their dialogs in front of the class.

Students are practicing dialogues; the class is organized in groups of three; two students practicing the dialog, and the third playing the role of monitor. The monitor checks that the others are using the correct intonation pattern and corrects them where necessary. The teacher moves around listening to the groups and correcting their language when necessary. The accuracy activities are important to support fluency activities.

We continue with a series of Comprehension activities. Put in order Matching Fill in the blanks.

My Dialogue is based on the first day at work; The Warm up is asking the students for words they will find in the reading. Show around Follow Open-door policy Drop off Handle Treat Reasonable Last, but not least Fill out Cubicle

CONCLUSION

The communicative approach builds the concept that learning language effectively comes through having to communicate real meaning. When learners are

immersed in real communication, their natural tactics for language acquisition will be used, and this will allow them to learn to use the language.

Communicative language teaching utilizes real-life situations that require communication. This activity tries to support students to communicate in a cognizant way, taking into account their real experiences, by trying to produce meaningful and real communication, with the support needed to assist students to generate the target language.
