Volunteer Recognition The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards - A nationwide program that honors young people in grades 5-12 who volunteer in their communities. Youth who have engaged in a volunteer activity that occurred during the 12 months prior to the date of application are eligible to apply. The application deadline is November 5, 2013. This morning, attendees from the VMN will be browsing the website identifying deficits in the library. A call for resources will be announced at the end of the month. Networking Coffee Break - The VMN Steering Committee has revamped the Coffee Break sessions. Originally developed to augment the Webinars, the Coffee Breaks will now be a focus of a certain topic. Members from the VMN steering committee will share experiences with certain topics and callers can ask questions and provide answers for others on the call. LinkedIn group - As of today we have 19 folks who have joined the group! Log-in to your LinkedIn account, click this link and click join in the upper right corner. We will begin creating sub-groups in November once everyone has completed... Demographic breakdown - the Agency Volunteer Profile survey. This survey will be used to identify sub-groups of members that share similar roles and responsibilities. Survey respondents will identify how they want to be networked. VMN News Newsletter changes - Carol Spiker ("Spike"), a member of the steering committee, will be the new point person for the newsletter.
