This study presents results from a national survey of more than 900 laboratories, focusing on a sub-sample of 134 government laboratories and 139 university laboratories. An environmental dependence model of technology transfer activity is presented, arguing that influence of political authority is a major determinant of technology transfer activity. Tests of the model indicated that scientific and technical mission diversity is particularly important in understanding technology transfer to both government and industry. However, a variety of measures of political boundary spanning are quite important in transfer to government but not so to industry. Likewise, the nature of the resource base (government vs. industrial) is strongly related to the choice to transfer technology to, respectively, government and industry.|| FNANGATILAAUCSSCISEARCH_1974 - 9304W4 11128975| GJ472| ROTATION AND INTERACTION WITH EPOXIDE HYDRASE OF CYTOCHROME-P-450 IN PROTEOLIPOSOMES| ENGLISH| ETTER HU; RICHTER C; OHTA Y; WINTERHALTER KH; SASABE H; KAWATO S| UNIV TOKYO,COLL ARTS & SCI,INST PHYS,MEGURO KU/TOKYO 153//JAPAN/; UNIV TOKYO,COLL ARTS & SCI,INST PHYS,MEGUROKU/TOKYO 153//JAPAN/; RIKEN,FRONTIER RES PROGRAM/WAKO/SAITAMA 35101/JAPAN/; SWISS FED INST TECHNOL,DEPT BIOCHEM/CH-8092 ZURICH//SWITZERLAND/| JAPAN; SWITZERLAND| JOURNAL OF BIOLOGICAL CHEMISTRY, 1991, V266, N28, P18600-18605| 1991| ARTICLE| 41| SciSearch; CC LIFE--Current Contents, Life Sciences| BIOCHEMISTRY & MOLECULAR BIOLOGY| Purified rat liver cytochromeP-450MC or P-450PB was co-reconstituted

with epoxide hydrase in liposomal vesicles made of phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylethanolamine, and phosphatidylserine at a lipid to protein weight ratio of 5 by the cholate dialysis procedure. Rotational diffusion of the cytochromes was measured by observing the decay of absorption anisotropy,r(t), after photolysis of the heme.CO complex by a vertically polarized laser flash. Further analysis of the data showed that the anglebetween the heme planeof P-450MC and the membrane is 48-degrees or 62-degrees, different from the value of 55-degrees reported previously for P-450PB (Gut, J., Richter, C., Cherry, R. J., Winterhalter, K. H., and Kawato, S. (1983) J. Biol.
