Report On Sangopita A Shelter for Care

Sangopita A Shelter for Care is a NGO founded by Mr. Ravindra K.Sugwekar in 2003.Sangopita offers a ray of hope to 62 numbers of agonized parents who are endowed with special children who are mentally challenged i.e. suffering from Autism, Down syndrome and Cerebral Palsy etc. it is located just 7 km from Badlapur station in Natural Serenity near Kondeshwar & in pollution free area for convenience of Local Children. It covers about 1 Acre area of land. It is registered Charitable Trust under Bombay Public Trust Act. It came into mind of Mr.Sugwekar because his son has similar kind disability. It was started by such parents of a disabled child with the help of other parents suffering similarly. It does not only takes care of these children, but also provides necessary medical aid, Special Education and most of all, the Affection and Love they deserve. It strives for the development of such children who are above 4 years of age. It has disproves the general notion that these children cannot progress. It is situated in a small village sheltered by scenic natural surroundings, which provides fresh air as well as pollution free environment. The most important feature of Sangopita is that it is run without any link or help from any government, religious or political agency. It takes care of 70 plus childrens consisting residential and non residential (day-care). Residential are charged and other on base on donation. They conducted various activities for over all development of childrens. Activities for children are base on age. Activities are fine motor skills, puzzles, songs, dances, IQ testing occasional activities and yoga. They conduct workshop and output products are greeting, candle, and envelope. These products are sold in the market & money utilize for organization. 26 Member are working in the organization out which 6 are voluntary &20 are no voluntary.

Sangopita proposed various things for overall develop of organization and for childrens. They are as follows: Purchase of Premises for Daycare Center Dairy farming milk & milk for self sustains Running expenses for special school Running expenses for residential center Concrete plinth at outside of Residential Shed at outside of residential Lifelong maintenance of a deserving underprivileged child Painting of the premises Solar Street Lights Annual Running Expenses of Therapy Centre Annual Expenses on Bed Sheets/Towels Annual Expenses for School Uniform

Observation: Childrens seem to be very happy Nobody can say that childrens are abnormal There is drastic change in childrens mental and psychological power. Childrens are feeling at par by participation in mixed sport and other competitions.
