BSN III D PHILO 100 October 14, 2013

Almost a week has passed since the three week siege of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) on Zamboanga City and schools have finally opened and the Zamboanga City hall has finally resumed its operations and raised the Philippine flag though our mayor ordered for it to be flown at half-mast to mourn over the lives that have been lost during the crisis. During the crisis eighteen soldiers died and one hundred sixty seven were wounded, five policemen were killed and fourteen were wounded and twelve civilians were killed and seventy two were wounded also more than one hundred thousand people were affected by which their home were burned down by the series of fires that started during the crisis according to GMA news online. This was truly a sad event for every one of us we were all affected by the crisis and some even risked their lives to protect us and the least we can do for them is to pray their souls and try to help other citizens specially the evacuees who lost their homes and loved ones during the crisis. As a student the crisis has caused most if not all schools to close down which left me and probably most students wondering when we will be able to go back to school. Now instead of going to school and continuing our daily activities we stay at home and finish paper requirements.

Kant defines logic as "a canon that...serves as the principle of judging all use of the understanding as such, although only as to its rightness in respect of mere form". It is "a science a priori of the necessary laws of thinking, not, however, in respect of particular objects but all objects generatim; it is a science...of the right use of the understanding and of reason as such...i.e., according to a priori principles of how it ought to think". We always wanted to know the truth but it is the bitterest thing that we may feel. Sometimes telling a lie to someone will make her feel good, but in reality it will be bad for her. For example with our loved ones we always want to tell them the truth to us, but as they tell the truth we get mad and be depressed. Truth always hurt us all the time, truth that someone says their first last farewell to us. In the end truth bring us to realizations that all things are not permanent. The simplest and most obvious definition of truth is, without a doubt, that which accords with reality. Here, we can say that truth matters because reality matters. As simple as this is, it is also begging a very important question: just how do we tell what accords with reality and what doesnt? This is a much more difficult question to answer, one which occupies a great deal of time and attention. Truth leads me to discourage in life but knowing what is true really bring me to realizations. These realization help us to know more what is going on around us that some things cannot be solve peacefully. It will bring us pain and suffering, this pain will mold us to be a person. Everyone experiences pain and suffering, if someone of our member in the family gets killed, we always seek revenge. Revenge will create a never ending cycle of revenge the only way to stop that cycle is that someone who is willing to forgive.

Be a part of something that will help us stop the war. The best solution is that to stop the cycle, the cycle of revenge is to learn to forgive someone. It will make everyone better and we could get along. War does not solve anything but creates another war. `
