My deepest and heartfelt thanks to all who helped make my short stay In California so very great. God has blessed me with such a wonderful family

and grand friends*

I will say Just a very greb^ful "Thank you" and God bleaa
I

each and every one of you always*

I had a nice trip back, just missing the South African highjacking#
did not know about it until the next morning. It was cold, rainy and mis erable in Rio when I changed planes. I could not see Tom's plane when wo

landed at Bulawayo, but as we taxied, I saw it In the hanger.

He was coming

across when I left the plane, but could not greet mo as the customs men would have been very unhappy.

The clinic was very busy while I was in California. They were caring for from 50 to 75 patients a day, with many of them very sick. My sincere thanks to Tom, Prances and Rhoda for their long hours of work while I was gone. Rhoda and Fishla were married by Tom on the 5th of May. I hear they had a very nice Ghriatian wedding.
Yesterday afternoon we had between 950 to 1,000 man, women and children

at the clinic for a government mass polio, measles, smallpoic and TB vaAnations. The doctor and her staff arrived at 4:30 PM and wo worked until 7 PM.

The last of the vaccinations wore done by the light of a flashlight. The youngsters were certainly good and quiet most of the time. The group was in queues from 2 PM until the doctor arrived. They were so good in taking injections. Very few fussed at all. Two Sundays ago, Fran and I were about to leave for the afternoon churches, when I got word that Rhoda needed me. She had a 5 year old boy in convulsions. I took emergency measures first of airway, oxygen and sed ation, starting a IV of chloroquine. The boy had cerebral malaria. It was not 50 minutes until he was resting quietly. The next morning he was up eating a cookie and drinking orange pop. WMle the doctor was here on his

routin# visit, we lost an 11 year old boy from cerebral malaria (usually fatal). While the boy was dying I was delivering a baby. I had hoped it
would be a boy, but it was a girl. Surprise 11 God gives and He takes away. On Saturday wo bad a woman in labor having her first baby

and guess what??

Twin girls.

I know one 'midwife* with a red facel

Guess

it can happen to any midwife. We have a woman waiting that I think will have twins. Suppose it will be triplets?

The African people have been working so very hard in their fields har vesting their crops# The harvest will be the beat in years as the rains

have been great*

We will have a "Thanksgiving Time" early in July when all

of our African Christians will gather at the mission to thank God for His gifts, not only a good harvest, but also of His Son, our Lord and Saviour*

We are enjoying our Sunday evening services with our African teacb^rs and clinic staff* The close Christian fellowship we are having is bringing
us us closer to God and to each other* Tom h^us^been teaching us the funda mentals of being a Christian*

As you will notice, I have now twd^'forwarding agents*, Gail Ruhlen,

who will take care of the correspondence, and Clara Goldman, who will re ceive the contributions and take care of the financial books. "y ever loving thanks to both of these gals*
Please-keep-us in your prayora-as^we^ndeaver to bring Christ to our Africans here in the reserve through the work of the chxirches, our African preachers, the schools, our teachers, our clinic and staff. In God*3 love.

Greetings to you in Christ's name:

It is six weeks since I arrived back in the United States and California.

The days and weeks have flown by as I have traveled over most of the state speaking and visiting with many churches, family and friends. God has

richly blessed me with a wonderful family and so many wonderful old and
new friends. of mine. God willing, I will be returning to Nuanetsi Christian Mission

^the latter part of May following a' short^'^sTde trip to Greece and, God will ing, the Holy'L^d; ' A^ trip to the land of my Lord has always been a dream
Please pray with my parents as I return to Rhodesia.

I sincerely ask for your prayers as I continue to seek financial support for the continuing work at Nuanetsi Christian Mission and especially the Clinic. The work of the mission has just begun and there is yet much to be done to tell the Africans of the Lord^s love for them. Also, I seek your prayerful consideration of a change in my forwarding agent. Norma has asked to be relieved of this responsibility; I extend to her my heartfelt appreciation for her untiring help and work during the past three years.
Many have asked about ray budget for myself and the clinic so I have indu

ed it on the back of this newsletter, for your prayerful study. At this time I have about $300.00 pledged for the monthly support for the next
three years. God has always richly blessed me and He does provide and He will not fail

if one only puts his trust in Him and this is what I am doing each day of my life. May God's rich blessings continue to shower you always.
In His love and with all of mine.
