HERES HOW YOU CAN HELP

You can help with a pledge of a financial contribution to make this happen. Your gift will provide a lasting testament to your commitment to impacting the lives of homeless Baytown area families, and in making Baytown a shining example of what a community can do to support those in need.

Baytown has a long history of providing compassionate assistance to those in need. Bay Area Homeless Services has been a vital cog in that wheel for 31 years, providing temporary shelter and counseling services for the Homeless in East Harris County. There is a glaring need to expand the services provided by BAHS.

Mission & History

Since 1982, Bay Area Homeless Services, a United Way Agency and 501(C)3 organization, has provided emergency housing, food and intensive case management to persons who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. BAHS, located in Baytown, Texas, is the only homeless facility of its kind in East Harris County. Today, BAHS also actively engages and prepares clients to seek employment. Bay Area Homeless Services currently has separate mens and womens dormitories which offer privacy and safety for its clients.

Building Hope
While able to assist some families, BAHS is currently unable to house a two parent family, or a mom with an adolescent son together. Families must split up to spend the night. As a result of this dilemma, BAHS has embarked on an ambitious capital improvement program to build a family shelter. This structure will house up to six intact families, totalling 24 beds, and alleviate the need for these homeless families to travel into the crowded urban area to seek shelter as a family.
