Based on the ITTC Spectrum to simulate the time records of the wave elevation. where the cases are as follow: / / Solution: The Bretschneider Spectrum is a two parameter family that permits period and wave height to be assigned separately. In the 15th, International Towing Tank Conference (Called ITTC) recommended the use of a form the Bretschneider spectrum when more specifically appropriate spectral forms are not known. For the Long-Crested wave, the spectrum has the form, / 691 , 173 And for the Short-Crested wave, the spectrum has the form, / 691 , 173 2 , In Short-Crested Wave, there has the angle because of the different direction of the wave. And the with

When we get the spectrum for the Long-Crested wave and the Short-Crested wave, the wave components are assumed to have a definite frequency and a random phase angle. The Long-Crested wave form is

2 And the formulation for the Short-Crested wave is , ,

2 Now, use Fortran to simulate the result.

According to the Long-Crested wave result of Case a and Case b, we can find out the distance between maximum wave elevation and minimum wave elevation are about 6 meters and 12meters. That because the significance wave elevations are 5 meters and 12meters. If we run the program again, we will find out the result will be difference. In our formulation, we add a random angle of . The random angle makes

the wave in every time. That is why we run the program again the result will be different.

Fig-9- Short-Crested Wave Elevation Comparing with Fig. 7 and Fig. 8, the significance wave elevations make two cases elevations are different very clearly. If we comparing Fig. 7 and Fig. 9 or Fig. 8 and Fig. 10, we will find out the wave elevation distributions change by different times. That because the real wave elevations always change in every time.
