Some people prefer to spend their lives doing the same things and avoiding change. Others, however, think that change is always a good thing. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Introductory paragraph : Over the last century, the pace of change in the human beings lives has extremely increased. This has been driven by technological and scientific breakthroughs which are changing on daily basis. I personally believe that changes might considerably benefit all individuals. The following paragraphs will discuss valid reasons why some people feel the need to make significant changes to their lives from time to time. Body 1 (Strongest reason) : Firstly, any new situation can be a learning opportunity for a person and grow from it. For example, a new job can present new challenges that force the person to acquire new knowledge. As a case in point, recently, I was asked to move to a new department as part of organizational changes. I knew that it was not an easy thing to work in an entirely new team and on a new area of specialization. I accepted the challenge and within a few months I have well adapted to the new environment and learned the new procedures. It was very hard, but the sense of achievement was great. Body 2 (supporting) : Secondly, a change can represent a break with the past and an old routine which has become boring and predictable. For instance, my sister worked as a secretary for an attorney in a law office for 3 years and she felt that she is not enjoying her job anymore and she feels like every morning, she has to drag herself out of bed to go to work until she reached to a point when she was feeling depressed and out of focus. Finally, she decided to resign and change her career. Now she is working as a restaurant assistant manager and she believes she is more effective and productive with her new job at the same time having fun. Now she is looking forward for a promotion. Body 3 (Opposition) : On the one hand, there are those who argue that they have achieved some security by doing the same thing. Furthermore, it can be demonstrated that after certain achievements by the middle age, many people are reluctant to get out of their comfort zones and face difficulties, such as change of place of work, city or country. Some believe that such changes necessitate starting their life almost from scratch, even though they achieved some position in the society. There are those who tried to change their life for the best but in the end their lost more than they had.

Conclusion/Recommendation : Having discussed both sides of the coin, I do believe that alterations might open a variety of possibilities for individuals at any ages and any time as well as making life more fun and interesting, new experiences can be good for our physical and mental health. OR (Having discussed both sides of the coin, I believe that the benefits of changes far outweigh the problems it can cause. Individuals should be more open-minded and take into great consideration the variety of possibilities we can have through alterations.) Type B Children are facing more pressures nowadays from academic, social and commercial perspectives. What are the causes of these pressures and what measures should be taken to reduce these pressures? It is commonly said that todays children are pressurized as were yesterdays adults. Thats true in the sense that children are facing harder and harder academic, social and commercial challenges. It is happening simply because of the ever increasing demands of life, from the same perspectives, on humans in general. The following paragraphs will discuss the causes of such pressures and ways to reduce it. Firstly, as the global village becomes more and more competitive every day, it becomes important for us to prepare for the fight, so to speak, earlier and earlier. This is realized by all, which triggers societies to push their juveniles during their learning stage. In addition, another thing that contributes to the ever rising pressure on children is the lack institutional opportunities, especially in developing countries. Now, more than ever, children have to race each other for reaching the privilege of higher education. While healthy competition is helpful for the psycho-social development of young ones, it is rather unhealthy when the race becomes more prominent than the objective. Of course the objective of children competing against each other ideally is brining the best out of themselves. But, very frequently, a child is compelled to compete for becoming better than the other. To stop such spiteful struggle among our young, we must first establish a sense of camaraderie within all our developmental institutions, such as schools and colleges. Students must contest for academic betterment, not social supremacy. Also, parents should get proactively involved in promoting sportsmanship among learners. They must not allow vile aggressiveness and their own vengefulness in the lives of their children. To sustain such social reformation the government must establish ample alternatives to the traditional route to success.

Having discussed the causes and some measures to reduce the pressure on the youths, The children today are being put into a survival-of-the-fittest situation much earlier than they must be when they should really be trying to do their best. Such untimely loss of innocence is only going to make civilization more antagonistic. Therefore we must ensure that personal development may be ushered in harmony and not in vile rivalry.
While it is important that children excel in their age to become successful as adults, they must be shielded from the mounting pressure by maintaining a balance between material and psychological growth.
