ACTIVITIES GUIDE: ENGLISH DEBATE AND SPEAKING

PHASE I: GROUP WORK

Before developing the activities, you have to watch the following video:

1. You have to answer the following questions: -What is the videos topic? -Describe physically each woman shown in the video. -Describe each situation seen in the video (there are more than two situations) - Do you agree with the situations shown in the video? Yes/no? why? - What other title you would suggest, if you were the composer of the song? - What possible solutions would you give to help every woman shown in the video? -With your e-mates, you must make a written reflection of the situation (at least a paragraph) and submit a final product which expresses the solutions they could offer in every situation.

PHASE II: INDIVIDUAL WORK

Look for an article about positive news about Colombia. (Newspapers, Magazines, reports, etc.) You should record an audio about the article chosen. (You have to read and tape at least 1 paragraph) When recording the audio you should:

1. Tell your names and surnames

2. Write the number of your collaborative work 3. Write the title of the article 4. Read at least 1 paragraph of the article 5. Its individual, you have to upload the audio in the task link with its reference (Web site you chose the article). Remember to write the paragraph you chose. The file must be named: name, last name and the number of your group work. Example: lvelasquez_139

Furthermore, we recommend you to use the Talk Any program that will help you to pronounce the article correctly.
