I am writing this letter of recommendation on behalf of Dax Garrett. I had the pleasure of meeting Dax through Boston Universitys Masters program in Mumbai. As his advisor, Dax and I worked over a series of months via Skype and email while he developed his Masters thesis. I highly recommend Dax for a position at your school. He is an intelligent, hard-working, passionate individual who, I have no doubt, will be an invaluable addition to your staff. I believe that passion is the most important characteristic an educator can possess. Dax is, without question, a passionate educator who cares deeply about being a quality physical educator in order to meaningfully impact the lives of his students. It was clear from our correspondence and Skype sessions, that he is committed to becoming a better educator and a more knowledgeable and skilled professional. During his time working on his thesis, Dax demonstrated that he values deepening his understanding of pedagogy in order to advance his own practice but also that of his colleagues. Mr. Garrett is also an intelligent, hard-working individual who demonstrated that he has a strong knowledge base in the fields of physical education, technology and 21st century skills. I was impressed with Dax idea for his thesis - examining the use of technology to advance students physical education skills through self-evaluation because it demonstrated that he is implementing best practices in the field to meet the needs of his students in physical education and outside of the gym. His thesis combined many essential skills and competencies including: physical education skills, use of technology, 21st century skills, self-evaluation, and goal setting. All of these skills transfer outside of the gymnasium and even outside of school. I wish that I could work with educators like Dax more often he is the future of the profession. He is the type of educator that will continue to increase the value of his physical education courses for his students; always striving to improve students skills and their ability to transfer those skills to improve their lives. Dax Garrett is a strong candidate for a position at your school. I write this letter of recommendation with no hesitation and with confidence in his ability to make a difference in the lives of your students. Dax demonstrated that he is a passionate, hard-working, capable educator who is dedicated to developing his own knowledge and skill in order to better meet the needs of his students. If you need more information about Dax, please contact me at ssparrow@bu.edu or 617-224-8050. Sincerely,
