I learnt about the joining process of the company. After selection, well planned induction process comes in place.

The joining process here starts with the formalities on the side of the HR deptt. Firstly employee information form for which required documents are your qualification certificates, residential proof, experience certificate from previous employer and salary proof from previous employer. In next step, employee is to provide necessary information such as employee code, name, fathers name, mothers name, date of birth, domicile, place of birth, qualification, experience, date of joining, designation or grade, department, salary, address correspondence and permanent. Then there is a nomination form, PF nomination form, Form No. 5, Employee State Insurance Form, mediclaim policy, personal file, medical check up and appointment letter. I have tried understanding the above form and their meanings , and have tried to sum that up in short here. Even some teachings were related to classes Ive attended in 2nd semester. Then I learnt about various types of document reports such as daily attendance report, employee report, department report, detail report, current report, late report, early out report, manual entry, salary slip data, pay report, leave register, leave balance, late memo, detail muster roll, paid/unpaid. There are several details of each type of document report such as in daily attendance report, there is employee ID, his/her name, deptt, date, shift, in time, out time, time worked, attendance, pay day, quick remarks etc. I overlooked a promotion procedure wherein Mr. Baljeet Singh Chind from packaging deptt was promoted from DOFFER to SIDER in the same deptt. The work is almost the same, only the promotion denotes a level of skills he has attained and a rise in his wages.

I have an avid interest in HR and its amazing to note what the company facilitates such as the colonies for workforce, tv, sports, hostel, canteen, medicine, van for girls, doctor, health camp, holidays, advance, attendance incentices, and loan without interest. There are several things that you learn here, and broader vistas of how actually HR operates is opened across the horizon of our eyes wide open. Learnt about the companys policies starting with leave system policy. Then I went for printing award stickers custom-sized for an award function in behalf of companys name around Gill Chowk, near Meshi Dhaba. I was given the money and a responsibility to which I accepted beyond the usual rountine training hoursl Learnt about maternity leave policy. Major learning also include taking active participation in manpower recruitment from outside on daily basis from 5pm to 7.30pm in Mandi area of Vardhmaan Textiles. I accompany them on everyday basis, interact with the labour leader Mr. Manoj in that area and face the fierce silent competition they face. Giving commission, directly paying higher wages, taking up the workers directly from locations other than their residential area, etc are some methods employed. Rationalized interaction is a core option that works too. Verifying medical ID's of workers' being above 18 years of age. Planning the developments, Communication meetings, promotions, regular meetings, canteen checking, food checking, living place checking, check deployment, grievance handling, medical and ambulance facilities. Plus security checking. Recently few days back, there had been a dispute of an employee's death in a nearby textile company ( Rajindra Worsted ) where a dispute had raised because of non-punjabi employees ( called as bhaiyaas, commonly) and Namdhari Sikhs which had turned out into a violent phase. Total loss is of 3.25 crores of each non-operative day of this branch and since the event it has been 4-5 days. Mentioning this event is to address that such and such event can and has impacted the HR departments of various textile companies, other companies' HR

departments closely look at this situation and evaluate the losses and impact on competition in that area. This may not be publicly visible but through inside reports HR will phase out certain work force on several critical issues and filter employees on their level slowly.
