Ecommerce Startup Internship Description: True Goods is looking for excited, passionate and hard-working interns for our Ecommerce Startup Internship Program! We will be bringing in a group of students across all parts of the business to gain experience in our fast-paced socially responsible and quality curated e-commerce organization. Interns will be part of a small team of seasoned startup professionals and learn the ins and outs of our business. The Film / Digital Video internship will provide hands-on exposure to the world of online visual content and digital communications. Candidates will create unique content and shoot interviews relating to a range of topics and exploring complex health and environmental issues associated with toxic chemicals and human/environmental safety. Interns will be key members of both the editorial content and marketing communications teams and work directly with the CEO, gaining hands-on experience through scripting, storyboarding, shooting and editing a variety of digital film and web video content and strategic marketing communications. Theyll also perform other support functions within the departments to assist the editorial and creative staff as a whole. Intern will be performing the following tasks: - Shoot and edit scheduled interviews with company advisors, internal staff, and customers (testimonials) - Creatively combine design files, music, live action, and visual copy to create compelling stories about/from the company - Help build out the companys Vimeo account and Twitter Vine feeds with compelling video content. - Participate on weekly team meetings/calls Skills and attributes interns are expected to have: - Excellent communication skills with great attention to detail a MUST - Have an eye and skill for savvy messaging and quality design. - Skilled in shooting, editing and post-production video. - Interest in safe, eco-conscious products and healthy living/lifestyle factors - Outgoing, self-motivated, innovative, socially-conscious, collaboratively driven team player - Energy, with a desire to come up with fresh ideas on how to enhance our video content/communications strategies - Ability to relate visual strategies to an identified target market - Ability to contribute individually, as well as participate in cross-functional collaborative teams The Fine Print: All internships are either paid or for academic credit, and will provide qualified students and adults with relevant professional skills in various areas related to digital video, journalism, online editorial, marketing/communications, startups, ecommerce, environmental health, social responsibility, and retail product management. Prefer candidates with a major in Film/Video, Digital Visual Communications, or equivalent, looking to learn and gain experience in the field. Must be able to complete the internship for the Winter semester, and perhaps through the Spring if applicable. Must be able to work at least 5-10 hours per week.
