Opportunity to contribute to the Australia Awards Scholarships Manager

Full time contract until 30 November 2013, with the possibility for two year extension Based in Islamabad, Pakistan

The Program
Australia Awards is an AusAID funded program which enables Pakistani citizens to undertake studies at higher education institutions in Australia. In Pakistan, the goal of the Australia Awards is to improve sustainable, pro poor service delivery and governance, primarily within the three designated priority sectors: maternal neonatal and child health services; basic education services; and rural development and food security in Pakistan. Australia Awards aims to strengthen partnerships and links between Australia and other countries in the AsiaPacific region and to target leaders those who can either promote or influence reforms. Coffey International Development is currently seeking applications for the key position of Scholarships Manager to join our team.

The Position
The Scholarships Manager reports to the Team Leader and will be responsible for the implementation of the day to day Scholarship cycle and ensuring effective and transparent delivery of all scholarship related activities. Key responsibilities include: Maintaining the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and risk management activities related to the scholarship cycle; Managing administrative staff (as required) for effective and efficient selection processes; Managing pre-departure briefings for awardees Monitoring the performance of Awardees whilst studying in Australia to ensure successful completion rates Maintaining positive and professional communications with a range of stakeholders To be successful for this position, applicants will be degree qualified and will need to demonstrate considerable experience working in a range of project administration and coordination activities, preferably on a donor funded program. High level project management skills are required for success including skills in planning, improving processes, reporting and monitoring activities; combined with strong experience and skills in working with a range of different stakeholders. Previous experience in scholarship management would be advantageous and study experience in Australia is highly desirable. Proficiency in English and Urdu language is required for success.
