Introduction
Two assessment methods will be used for this assignment

1. An Individual written Report Students are required to submit a report for Tasks 1, 2.1,2.2, 3.1,4, 5.1 and 5.2 2. An Individual Class Room Activity Tasks 2.2, 3.2& 5.3 are carried out in the class room under the supervision of the Assessor within the specified time duration.

Assignment Scenario
Suppose you are working as an estimator of a contracting company,and you have received a set of tender documents for tendering to a proposed multi story auditorium building and you are given only 45 days to submit your bid. Some of the project particulars are as follows. Client:- Urban Development Authority Funding Agency: World Bank Location: Nugegoda Contract period:- 12 months Condition of contract:- FIDIC Type of Contract:- Fluctuating price contract Interim payments: Monthly It was a busy time for your tender department when you review the tender document because you are already in the process of pricing few other projects with limited resources and the labour force of the construction department of your company also limited. Resources in the mechanical department are inadequate and many of the plants items are hired. However the management of the company is more interesting to win this contract therefore you have decided to price the BOQ Followings are some of your findings during the site visit Task 1 Proposed site is located in an urban area but isolated, surrounded by a lake and it is a marshy land Access road is adequate but there is no existing bridge over the lake. Land is a bare land and no any existing buildings. Surround area is highly commercial area no any permanent residence

1.1 State and describe the steps of tender pricing process that will be useful to above project.(P1) 1.2 Analysethe management decision to tender how this will effect to prices and how do you solve the above mentioned problems(M2)

Task 2 Prepare standard rates for labour, construction plant and materials It is also estimators responsibility to establish all-in rates for labour, material and plants which can be used during the pricing process. 2.1 List the factors to be considered when calculate all in rates for labour, plants and material(P4) 2.2 Analyse the factors listed in 3.1 and explain how each one contributes to the topic(labour cost, material cost and plant cost)(M2) 2.3 Establish all-in rates for labour (skilled labour), material (cement, ready mixed concrete, structural timber) and plants (dumper).
