Cliff Garden
California

The Garden Project, located on a cliff off the coast of California, was one of my earliest projects. The design proportion applied the golden ratio in geometry. The spaces are inspired by a traditional Chinese garden and are separated, but not blocked. Bamboo partitions are utilized as translucent screens, that divide space and keep space flowing throughout.

The Kansas City Craft Center fun as a museum and an art Studio. It acts as a communication space for artists and visitors. The artwork may be displayed in just about any space inside the building. It features its own sales gallery as well as a studio and artist residence. The challenge of this project is the long (142ft) and narrow (26ft) site constraints and how to accomodate function with circulation.

One of the main ideas of the design is the atrium which penetrates the building from bottom to top. It curves in different levels to create a sculptural form of space. The space itself can handle larger and taller scale art work. It also works as an activity space and educational space.

Whole Body Center
Kansas City, MO The Whole Body Center is different from a regular gymnasium, because it gives opportunities to people to do aerobic exercises in a natural way. Rock climbing and swimming are both ancient sports that happen in nature. These activities represent the adventurous attitude of human beings. In order to hold the original passions, the Whole Body Center was designed as an inner world that brings people back to the nature.
