Introduction

Overview

Overview
Command Mode

The Command Mode allows you to:

Run a series of procedures

Schedule procedures to run at a given date and time
Perform migrations (BSS, 9153 OMC-R/ 9153 OMC-R).

Command Mode for the 9153 OMC-R allows operators to perform various tasks in DCN,
RNUSM and BSSUSM from a unitary and dedicated terminal window. Through this
single interface, requests are made by the operator with any UNIX shell script language.
Everything you can do in a UNIX environment, you can do in Command Mode. Common
functions such as saving, deleting, printing, copying, viewing, editing, renaming and
scheduling are performed using standard UNIX commands (cp, mv, rm, lp, crontab, at).
Note: The following convention applies for a 9125 TC equipped with a TC STM1 - IP
subrack:

The TC STM1 interface board is also referred to as TCIF

The TC STM1 IP interface board is also referred to as TCIFI.

Command Mode Options

Overview

Depending on your needs, you can use Command Mode in three different ways:

Dedicated Command Mode, for running procedures immediately

Implicit Command Mode, for creating files and scheduling Command Mode
procedures to be run at a later time
Explicit Command Mode, for scheduling Command Mode procedures to run within
other sessions (for example, while performing migrations).

Introduction

Access Rights

....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Access Rights
Overview

The Command Mode interface can be started from the desktop by any operator with
Command Mode access rights. Once Command Mode is started, there is further access
control. All available commands can be entered according to the OAD (Object Access
Domain) or the FAD (Functional Access Domain) access rights, which are created for
each operator by the System Administrator.

Spaces
Overview

Spaces, used to separate the parameters of the commands, are optional. They do not
impact the command execution.
For example, the following lines are equivalent (both lines are correct):

omcdo -cmd 'OMC_exportHW (101,1) '

omcdo -cmd 'OMC_exportHW ( 101, 1 ) '

Errors
Overview

If errors occur (parsing, routing, connection failure, or a crash), error messages appear.
The operator can stop and restart the Command Mode session.

...................................................................................................................................................................................................

Create an executable file with the following content:

omcmdo -start <parameter>

Depending on what you want to do, choose the required <parameter>:

OAM: Operation, Administration and Maintenance

EML: Element Management Layer
RNL: Radio Network Layer
MFS: Multi-BSS Fast packet Server.

omcdo -cmd '<command>'

omcdo -stop <parameter>

where the <parameter> is the one used to start the command mode session:

OAM: Operation, Administration and Maintenance

ODMC Management
Overview

This section describes the list of high-level services involved in ODMC management.
Note that ODMC management requires manipulation of element lists (cell and raw types).
Therefore, this list must be fully informed in a buffer before any ODMC
creation/modification.
Also note that each subsequent Buffer_xxx function is only a buffer accessor. This means
that no check is made at this level regarding associated information set in the buffer. The
actual checks will be performed by the creation/modification functions themselves.
Buffer_displayCellList()
Description
Input

None

Output

DONE_WITH_INFO

There is a difference between the two following output cases:

A previous call of Buffer_setCellList(cellListName) (with an empty cellId list) sets

an empty cellId list and gives a Buffer_displayCellList() output such as:
DONE_WITH_INFO
END_OF_REPORT

A previous call of Buffer_setCellList() sets the buffer to "No cell change required"
state and gives a Buffer_displayCellList() output such as:
DONE_WITH_INFO
NO LIST
END_OF_REPORT

Example

COMMAND_MODE> omcdo -cmd 'Buffer_displayCellList()'

Buffer_setCellList()
Description
Input

None

Output

DONE

Use this function to indicate no cell change required.

Example

COMMAND_MODE> omcdo -cmd 'Buffer_setCellList()'

DONE

Buffer_setCellList( cellListName [, cellId n ] )

Description
Input

Output

Parameters:

cellListName: String

cellId n: String. "lac-ci" string Id of the nth cell

DONE

This function enables the user to set a cell list in the buffer, from 0 to n elements, giving
as much cellId information as required to identify every cell object.
Here, the '[' ']' symbols are only used to show the optional and iterative aspects of the
cellId parameter pattern.
Example

COMMAND_MODE> omcdo -cmd 'Buffer_setCellList("cellList1", "3333", "44-44")'

OMC_openPRC( prcName )
Description
Input

PrcName: String

Output

DONE

This function enables the user to open a PRC session. It must be used in conjunction
with OMC_closePRC service.
If a PRC is explicitly opened by the user, using this method, the relative PRC session is
regarded as managed by the user. In this particular case, it means that consequently the
user will have to explicitly close the same PRC session (using OMC_closePRC service)
once all operations on this PRC are finished.
By default, working on any PRC, if such a function is not called, every PRC involving
command mode service (PRC_xxx like functions) will manage its own PRC session
(including open and close PRC session).
As opening a PRC may take some time, this service enables the user to optimize
iterative works on a same PRC, preventing opening and closing the same PRC, as many
times as atomic operations are performed consecutively on this PRC.
Example

COMMAND_MODE> omcdo -cmd 'OMC_openPRC( "prc1" )'
