This IDAS Demonstration Setup Guide for IC-F3100D/IC-F4100D series, IC-F5120D/IC-F6120D Series
explains the configuration and file setup procedures to demonstrate the basic feature of IDAS radios. This
is first step to become familiar with the IDAS radios. After you are comfortable with the basic operation,
we recommend you familiarize yourself with other features of the radio.

1-1 Introduction

1-1-1 Layout of this Demonstration Setup Guide

This IDAS Demonstration Setup Guide for IC-F3100D/IC-F4100D series, IC-F5120D/IC-F6120D Series
has been prepared to make a step by step demonstration of IDAS radios possible. However, you may
want to show different functions to your client because of the function rich IDAS series radios.
Therefore, the setting screen and explanation of relative functions are shown near each step by step
procedure. Those setting related sections are displayed in the surrounded by a blue line.
An example is shown below.

This demonstration setup guide is covered 3 in segments.
The first segment explains the NXDN features. The second segment describes the settings and
operation of the various Voice Calls. The third segment describes the settings and operation of various
Data Calls.

Programmable function keys
The following functions can be assigned to the [Upper] and [Lower] programmable function keys.
When a microphone that has an emergency key is connected to the radio, one of following functions
can be assigned to the Emergency Key.

NOTE: Below is an example of the Dealer Programmable Key Settings in the icf files,
IDAS_F4100D_1001_Demo_Ver_1.icf and IDAS_F4100D_1003_Demo_Ver_1.icf, that are provided
with this demonstration setup guide. However, to conduct some parts of demonstration, you must
alter the icf settings. Carefully review the appropreate sections in the demonstration setup guide.

2 General Features

2-1 ID Address Structure in the IDAS Mode

2-1-1 Unit ID
- Unit ID
Set the radio's unit ID to the unit ID
programmed in each channel, or into
the global unit ID.

MR CH Individual
Uses the unit ID programmed in
each channel:
Memory CH > Zone > Digital > Unit ID

Enter a decimal number between 1 and 65519 in
each memory channel as the Unit ID.

NOTE: If Config > Unit ID is set to "Global (Edit)" or "Global (Auto)" in the Digital Option sheet, the
programmed ID is replaced with the Global ID.
- Global ID (Edit) (Activated only when: Unit
ID = Global ID (Edit))
Uses the global unit ID programmed in
Global ID (Edit), regardless of the
operating channel.
Set the radio's Global unit ID to between
1 and 65519.
When Unit ID is set to "Global ID (Edit)," this programmed ID is used as the radio's unit ID, regardless
of the operating channel.
- Global ID (Auto) (Activated only when; Unit
ID = Global ID (Auto))
Uses the global unit ID which is
automatically generated with the radio's
serial number and the number
programmed in Global ID (Auto),
regardless of the operating channel.
Enter a number between 0 and 5.
When Unit ID is set to "Global ID (Auto), the automatically generated unit ID is used as the radio's
unit ID, regardless of the operating channel.
The method of automatic generation for five-digit unit ID:
- This dealer programmed number replaces the digit in front of the last four digits of the radio's serial
number.
- If the last four digits of the radio's serial number are 0000, the dealer programmed number is
increased by 1, and then put in front of the last four numbers.

Enter another station's ID between 1 and 65519 (decimal number).

Talkgroup ID List
Enter a Talkgroup ID between 1 and 65519, or 65535 (decimal number).
"65535" is used for All calls.

All Call Settings
Enables you to transmit and/or receive
an All Call.

2-1-3 Talkgroup Settings

Talkgroup Setting
The Block Decode function works for the radios receive Voice Call, Call Alert, Status Message and
SDM if the target unit ID is matched to Block Decode range.
Block Decode Enable
Select whether or not to use the Block Decode
function.
This function enables the radio to decode any
Talkgroup ID, if it is within the block decode range.
Inhibit Decodes only the specified Talkgroup ID.
Enable Decodes any Talkgroup ID, if it is within the block decode range.
NOTE: Set the block decode range in Block Decode (Min) and Block Decode (Max).

Block Decode (Min)/(Max)
(Activated only when: Block Decode Enable = Enable)
Set the minimum and maximum Talkgroup IDs to
specify the block decode range, to between 1 and
65519.
NOTE: Block Decode (Max) must be set to higher than Block Decode (Min).

2-1-4 Radio Access Number
A RAN (Radio Access Number) is a IDAS feature that may be used to reduce the possibility of
breakthrough from other fleets of users on a shared radio channel. IDAS equipment may be
configured with one of 64 RAN. A radio channel has a default RAN, but clearly if all independent fleets
use the default RAN there is no protection. To activate protection, a particular fleet is programmed
with one of the 64 RAN that is not the same as the default value.

- RX/TX RAN
Enter a receive and transmit RAN (Radio Access Number)
between 0 and 63.
RAN is used to separate the radio from the same or adjacent
channel station, according to the assigned code.
This feature is similar to CTCSS or DTCS in analog mode operation.
This feature is similar to CTCSS or DTCS in the analog mode.
The radio selectively accesses one of several repeaters within overlapping coverage areas, allowing
the user to listen to a specific repeater.
"00" is a special code, and matches to any RAN.

2-1-5 ANI Display Settings

ANI Display on Receive
- Talkgroup Display on Receive
When this function is turned ON, the
talkgroup ID number or name will be
displayed on the LCD while receiving.
- Unit ID Display on Receive
When this function is turned ON, the called
station's unit ID number will be displayed on
the LCD while receiving.
- Extended Display Timer (Sec)
Enter the time period for the Extended Display Timer between 0.0 and 25.5 seconds (in 0.1 second
steps).
This setting is for when either, or both of the Talkgroup Display on Receive or the Unit ID Display on
Receive functions are turned ON.
When an ID or name is displayed, the timer allows the ID or name to remain displayed for the set
time period.

ANI Display on PTT
- Talkgroup Display on PTT
When this function is turned ON, the
talkgroup ID number or name will be
displayed on the LCD when [PTT] is pushed.

2-2 Zone Operation

2-2-1 Zone Type Selection

The radio has a total of 128 memory channels, and you can assign them to 8 zones.
Configure the settings for each zone.
NOTE: Configurable settings differ, depending on the Zone Type setting.
Model Menu
The Model menu contains submenus that you use to change the software to suit to the radio's model
which you are going to program.
The Tree View screen contents will be changed when the model type is switched.
Select the model type from LMR or PMR.
A mark appears for the selected model.

NOTE: The model type must be selected first, otherwise the edited contents will be lost if you change
the model after programming.
NOTE: The following procedure assumes that tones have been entered and the squelch has been set.

Zone Type Selection
Select an operation type to be used in a zone.
The selectable options differ, depending on the model.
When you select PMR from the model menu, the selectable model type is only "Conventional".
Therefore the Zone Type selection menu does not appear.
When you select LMR from the model menu, the selectable Zone Types are "Conventional" and "IDAS-
Trunk".

Conventional For normal operation.
IDAS-Trunk
(Only for the LMR model)
For IDAS-Trunk operation. This enables further effective channel management
by sharing a minimum of channels with a large number of users.
If selected, appears on the zone in the tree view screen, and 11 settings
of Area Bit to PWR Save become configurable.

Capacity Settings
Set the number of memory channels assignable to the zone.

For example, when Zone 1's Capacity is set to "16," Zone 1 has 16 memory channels.

Even if the available number of memory channels in a zone has been set in Capacity in the Zone
Operation sheet, you can increase or decrease the number of channels in each zone.
To create a new memory channel, point and double click on any cell on the [New] line, which is
located at the bottom of the sheet.

2-2-2 Channel Settings for a Conventional Zone

Configure the settings for each memory channel that are assigned to a Conventional zone.

Enter the specified repeater channel's receive frequency in RX, and the transmit frequency in TX.

Channel Type
Select an operating mode for the channel between Analog, Mixed-Ana, Mixed-Digi or Digital as the
channels operating mode.

Analog TX and RX are in the analog mode.
Mixed-Ana
TX is in the analog mode.
RX is in the digital and analog mode.
Mixed-Digi
TX is in the digital mode.
RX is in the digital and analog mode.
Digital TX and RX are in the digital mode.

NOTE: The transmission mode may differ, depending on the Talk Back settings.
NOTE: Available Signaling settings differ, depending on the Channel Type setting.

RF PWR
Select the default output power, and the levels that the user can select by using [High/Low].

The default output power is set to

[High/Low] selects only "Low1."

- The user can change the output power by pushing [High/Low]. To inhibit the user from changing the
output power, do not assign the "High/Low" function to any key.
- Pushing [High/Low] selects the output power temporarily or permanently in the Key & Display sheet;

Digital Settings

RX/TX RAN
Enter a receive and transmit RAN (Radio Access Number) between 0 and 63.
RAN is used to separate the radio from the same or adjacent channel station, according to the
assigned code.
This feature is similar to CTCSS or DTCS in analog mode operation.
The radio selectively accesses one of several repeaters within overlapping coverage areas, allowing
the user to listen to a specific repeater.
"00" is a special code, and matches to any RAN.
Unit ID
Enter the radio's unit ID between 1 and 65519 (decimal number) for each channel.
NOTE: If Config-Unit ID is set to "Global (Edit)" or "Global (Auto)" in the Digital Option sheet, the
programmed ID is replaced with the Global ID.
Individual ID List No.
Double click the cell to display the Individual ID List, and then select an Individual ID to make a call to
on the channel.

NOTE: Configure the list in the Digital-Individual ID List sheet.
Squelch Type
Set the squelch type for digital mode operation.
OFF:
OFF
The squelch opens when an audio
signal is received. (The respective
RAN and ID codes do not need to
match to open the squelch.)
RAN :
RAN
The squelch opens when a call is
received that includes a matching
RAN, even if the Individual
ID/Talkgroup ID does not match.
Sel:
Selective
The squelch opens only when a call is
received that includes a matching

2-2-3 Channel Settings for IDAS - Trunk Zone

When LMR is selected as the model in the model menu, the Conventional and the IDAS-Trunk zone
types are available to select in Memory CH - Zone Operation.

Configure the settings for each memory channel that are assigned to the IDAS-Trunk zone.
Repeater channel settings
When selecting a zone type in the zone operation as IDAS Trunk:
The Repeater Setting screen can be called up by right clicking Repeater Ch and selecting [Edit...Enter],
or double clicking the Repeater Ch.

Set the repeater channel's transmit and receive frequencies and other settings.
NOTE: Program the receive frequency in RX first. Otherwise, you may not be able to make other
settings.

NOTE: The above frequencies are the default of the icf file supplied by Icom. If required, you may
reprogram frequencies according to your local requirements.
When the Repeater Channel settings are completed, the repeater channel number assigned as the

always monitors signals from the repeater to get trunking information.

Home Repeater (H1) has any trouble or malfunctions, the 2nd Home Repeater
channel automatically replaces it and becomes the Home Repeater.

NOTE: You must designate one channel as the Home Repeater. Otherwise, an "X" appears in the cell

2-3 Call Type Selection

2-3-1 Default Call Type Settings

C When you turn ON power to the radio, the default Call Type is automatically selected.

- Call Type
Set the default call type to Individual or Talkgroup.

The default call type is automatically selected when the radio is turned ON, and the Call Type Reset
function is activated.

C The Talk Back function allows the radio to select the same call type as the received call (Individual or
Talkgroup) when the following are true:
The Talk Back function is set to ON.
The Channel Type is set to Mixed-Ana, Mixed-Digi or Digital.
[PTT] is pushed after receiving a digital signal, but before or during the Talk Back timer period.

- Talk Back Timer (Sec)
Set the Talk Back timer to between 0 (OFF) and 25.5 seconds (in 0.1 second steps).

This function automatically selects the default call type, when the operating channel is changed, or

- Reset Timer (Sec)
(Activated only when; Call Type Reset = ON)
Set the Reset timer period to between 0 (OFF) and 60 seconds (in 1 second steps).

When the Call Type Reset function is ON, the default call type will be automatically selected after
the programmed timer ends, even if the user changes the call type.

Talk Back Settings for channels whose Channel Type is set to Mixed-Ana, "Mixed-Digi" or "Digital" .


For channels whose CH Type is set to "Mixed-Ana"
After receiving a digital signal, the Talk Back function allows the radio to transmit a digital signal,
when [PTT] is pushed before or during the Talk Back timer period.
Also, its allows the radio to select the same call type as the received call (Individual or Talkgroup).
For channels whose CH Type is set to "Mixed-Digi"
After receiving an analog signal, the Talk Back function allows the radio to transmit an analog
signal, when [PTT] is pushed before or during the Talk Back timer period.
For channels whose CH Type is set to "Mixed-Digi" or "Digital"
After receiving a digital signal, the Talk Back function allows the radio to select the same call type
as the received call (Individual or Talkgroup), when [PTT] is pushed before or during the Talk Back
timer period.

RX Type settings selects the type of received call to activate the Talk Back function.

- RX Type
(Activated only when: Talk Back Timer = any setting except "0 (OFF)")
If the received call is a digital signal, select an option for the Talk Back function.

Normal: The Talk Back function will be activated for Voice, Status, SDM, and Call Alert calls.

2-4-5 Channel Selection from the Channel Group (Only for the portable radios)

The Channel Group function enables you to select a group of memory channels or scan lists, by only
rotating [Rotary Selector] to the channel number they are assigned to.

You can assign either of two operation settings; memory channels or scan list, to each of the 16
channel number on [Rotary Selector].
[Rotary Selector] can have the settings mixed with the memory channels and scan lists.
By only rotating [Rotary Selector] to the 1 to 16 channel number, you can select a desired group of
memory channels or scan lists.

- Channel Group
Select whether or not to use the Channel Group function.
OFF: Turn OFF the Channel Group function.
ON: Turn ON the Channel Group function.

Priority A channel selection
When one of the following operations is performed, the radio automatically selects the Priority A
channel.
Turning the power switch ON
The Priority A channel is selected each time the radio power is turned ON.
Auto reset
The Priority A channel is selected when the Auto Reset timer ends.

Disable: Turns OFF the function.

2-4-9 Automatic Scan

Power ON Scan
When turning ON the power, the radio automatically starts
scanning. Scanning stops when a signal is detected.
Select an option for the Power ON Scan function.
OFF: Turns OFF the function.
Resume: If the radio is turned OFF during a scan, resumes the scan when the radio is turned ON.
ON: Automatically starts a scan when the radio is turned ON.

NOTE : When the scan is cancelled by pushing [Scan Start/Stop], the scan automatically resumes
after the specified time period, depending on the Auto Reset setting in the Zone sheet.

NOTE : If the Move to Priority A channel at Power ON function is set to Enable, the radio does not
start or resume a scan at power ON.
Power Switch ON
When the radio is turned ON, select whether or not to
automatically select the Priority A channel.

Auto Scan
When the channel is selected, a scan automatically starts.
Turn the Auto Scan function ON or OFF.
ON: Automatically starts a scan when the channel is
selected.
NOTE: When the scan is cancelled by pushing [Scan Start/Stop], the scan automatically resumes after
the specified time period set in the Auto Reset setting.

Mode Dependent Scan
NOTE: The scan group used for the Auto Scan function depends
on the Mode Dependent Scan setting in the Scan Setting sheet.
Mode Dependent Scan = ON: A scan group programmed in Assign
Mode Dependent Scan = OFF: Scan group [10]

On Hook (Scan) (Only for the mobile radios)
- Automatically scan starts when put the microphone ON hook.
Select whether or not to start a scan, after putting the microphone on
its hanger (ON hook).
ON: Starts a scan.

- Auto Reset
When a signal is received, or a key operation is made, it
puts the radio into the "Audible" mode. When the received
signal disappears, or after the key operation is made, the
Auto Reset timer starts. After the timer period ends, the
radio returns to the "Inaudible" mode.
The Auto Reset function also resumes a scan started with the Power ON Scan or Auto Scan function,
when it is cancelled by pushing [Scan Start/Stop].

Select a timer to be used for the Auto Reset function.
The selectable options differ, depending on the model.
Tim-A: Timer A
When the Auto Reset timer period (Timer A or Timer B) ends, the radio
returns to the "Inaudible" mode, or resumes a scan.
Tim-B: Timer B
Tim-AI: Timer A + Inactive
(Only for the PMR model)
When the Auto Reset timer period (Timer A or Timer B) ends, the radio
returns to the "Inaudible" mode, or resumes a scan.
However, if the radio is put into the "Audible" mode by receiving a signal,
it returns to the "Inaudible" mode when either the Auto Reset timer
period (Timer A or Timer B) or Inactive timer, ends, whichever is shorter.
Tim-BI: Timer B + Inactive

- Timer A/B (Sec)
Set the Auto Reset timers A and B to between 0 (OFF) and
255 seconds (in 1 second steps)
NOTE: To turn the Auto Reset function OFF, set either Timer A
or Timer B to "0" (OFF), and select the timer in the Zone sheet

- Inactive Timer (Sec) (Only for the PMR model)

When a signal is received, it switches the radio to the
"Audible" mode, and the Inactive timer starts. After the Auto
Reset timer (Timer A or Timer B) or the Inactive timer,
whichever is shorter, ends, the radio returns to the
"Inaudible" mode.
Set the Inactive timer to between 0 and 255 seconds (in 1 second steps)

- TX Ready To Transmit (R.T.T.) Beep
Turn the TX Ready To Transmit (R.T.T.) Beep function ON or OFF.

ON: A Ready To Transmit Beep sounds to avoid clipping the first syllables of a transmission.

Pi: One high ring sounds once.

Pi/R: One high ring repeatedly sounds during the ringer repeat timer period.
PiPi/R: Two high rings repeatedly sound during the ringer repeat timer period.

NOTE: Set the ringer repeat timer in the Digital Option sheet:

2-5-2 Beep and Ringer Level Settings

Beep and Ringer Settings
Configure the Beep and Ringer functions.

- Enable/Inhibit
Select whether or not to enable the user to change the
setting of each item.

When "Inhibit" is selected, the selected item does not
appear in the User Set mode, and therefore the user
cannot change the setting.

- Beep
Turn the key-touch beeps ON or OFF.

NOTE: Even when "OFF" is selected, some beeps, such as the lockout timer and TOT cannot be
turned OFF.

- Beep Level
Set the key-touch beep level to between 1 and 5, or
between 1 (Linked) and 5 (Linked).

When a Linked option is selected, the beep level is adjustable with [VOL].
NOTE: The maximum beep level is determined by the beep level setting.

- Ringer Level
Set the ringer level to between 1 and 5, or between 1
(Linked) and 5 (Linked).

When a Linked option is selected, the ringer level is adjustable with [VOL].
NOTE: The maximum ringer level is determined by the ringer level setting.

The beep function can be turned ON or OFF, and its level can be set to between to 1 and 5, or 1 (linked)
and 5 (linked). When a Linked option is selected, the beep level is adjustable with [VOL].
C Rotate [VOL] counterclockwise to turn OFF the radio.

C Set [ROTARY SELECTOR] to any channel other than channel 16.

C While holding down [Lower], rotating [VOL] clockwise to
turn ON the radio power and enter the beep level
adjustment mode.

C Push [Upper] to change the beep level.
The adjustable range is 1 to 5 or 1 (Linked) to 5 (Linked).
If the level is set on 1 to 4 or 1 (Linked) to 4 (Linked), pushing [Upper]
increases the level.
If the level is 5 or 5 (Linked), 1 (Linked) or 1 is selected after pushing
[Upper], respectively.
A beep sounds after pushing [Upper]. Therefore, you can determine the
current level setting by the type of beep that sounds.
C Push [Lower] to turn the beep function ON or OFF.
One beep sounds when the beep function is turned ON after
pushing [Lower].
Rotate [VOL] counterclockwise to turn the power
OFF, then rotate [VOL] clockwise to ON again to exit
the beep level adjustment.

selected, the Ringer level is adjustable with [VOL].
C Rotate [VOL] counterclockwise to turn the radio power OFF.

C Set [ROTARY SELECTOR] to channel 16.

C While holding down [Lower], rotating [VOL]

2-5-5 User Set Mode (For only the Mobile Radios)

The User Set mode can be accessed with the Power ON function. In this case, all set mode items are
selectable.
The User Set mode allows you to set seldom-changed settings, and you can customize the radio
operation to suit your preferences and operating style.

- Purpose Settings
The optional OPC-1939/2078 ACC CABLE have 15 and 25-pin connectors, respectively.
When an OPC-1939 ACC CABLE is used, High output level of all the pins is 3 V.
When an OPC-2078 ACC CABLE is used, High output level of pins 2 and 3 is 5 V, and that of the
other pins is 3 V.
Assign one of the following functions to each pin.
Each pin (except Ext. I/O 11 of D-Sub 15 pin and Ext. I/O 10 of D-Sub 25 pin) has an original function.

When Serial is selected as the purpose for Ext. I/O 4 (2), then Ext. I/O 10 (3) is also automatically
selected as Serial.
An OPC-1939 ACC CABLE is utilizing 3.3 volt logic for the Serial operation.
An OPC-2078 ACC CABLE supports 5 volt logic for the Serial operation.
When an original function is selected, the pin is used for each original function exclusively, and you
cannot assign another function to it.

2-7-5 Auto-Timed GPS Send Settings

The position data is transmitted at the preset interval.

Activate the Auto-Timed GPS Send function.
- Set the AUTO item to Enable.
Split the transmission timing for each radio to avoid interference.
- Set the Time Marker [mm:ss] to between 0:00 and 59:59 (in 1 second step).
Determine the transmission interval
- Set the Interval Timer [mm:ss] to between 0:00 and 59:59 (in 1 second step).

Auto-Timed GPS Send Settings
When the Automatic Position Transmission function is activated, the radio automatically transmits
position data according to the Time Marker and Interval Timer settings.
- Auto
This function automatically transmits position data at the interval programmed in Interval Timer
[mm:ss].
Turn the automatic position data transmission function ON or OFF.
NOTE: About 1 minute after the radio is turned ON, the Time Marker sets the starting point of the
Interval Timer period by reading the UTC time of the GPS receiver. Therefore, the receiver must
receive proper data before the UTC time is read into the radio. Otherwise, the radio does not
automatically transmit position data, unless it transmits the data by other functions.
- Time Marker [mm:ss]
Set the Time Marker to between 0:00 and 59:59 (in 1 second steps).
The Time Marker specifies the starting point of the Interval Timer period after the start of each hour,
0 minute 0 second (UTC).
NOTE: Set a different Time Marker for each radio, to avoid interference caused by the
simultaneous transmission of position data.
- Interval Timer [mm:ss]
Set the Interval Timer to between 0:00 and 59:59 (in 1 second steps).
When the automatic position data transmission function is activated, the radio automatically
transmits position data at the programmed interval.
For example : When Time Marker is set to 5 minutes, and Interval Timer is set to 10 minutes:
The first position data is initially transmitted 1 minute after the radio is turned ON, regardless of
the setting. The second position data is then transmitted 15 minutes after the hour (Time Marker
period plus Interval Timer period). After that, the position data is transmitted at 10 minute
intervals.

O Cancellation settings of the Repeat Emergency Call Cycle
When a radio* receives an emergency call as an Individual call, then it may or may not
automatically transmit an acknowledgment to the calling station, depending on the presetting.
When the radio that originally transmitted the emergency call receives the acknowledgement, it
cancels the emergency call transmission repeat cycle.
Required settings are described below:
1 Set the designation for the Emergency channel.
2 Select an Individual call for the call type to transmit emergency calls.
3 Select Enable to request an emergency acknowledgement from the target station.
4 Set the repeat cancel to ON.
NOTE: *The target radio should be one of the IC-F5120D/F6120D series, IC-F3160D/F4160D
series or IC-F5060D/F6060D series radio. The IC-F3100D/F4100D series radio will not transmit
an acknowledgement when receiving an emergency call, even it has a matched Individual ID.

Cancel process of Repeat Emergency Call Cycle

NOTE: If the Digital Request Ack function is activated, the radio transmits an emergency call with a
request to send back an acknowledgment. Radios programmed to return ACK for Emergency Status
now ignores the busy lockout. Even on a channel with the busy lockout setting and there is another
transmission / RF noise in the channel, the radio transmit ACK.

A Voice call has priority over an emergency call. During the emergency call process, push [PTT] to
make a voice call. The action of the radio depends on the mode of the emergency call, as described

4-4-6 Power OFF Emergency Function (For only IC-F5120D series mobile radios)

O Power OFF Emergency
While holding down the Power OFF Emergency key, turn OFF the radio to activate the Power OFF
Emergency function.
This key can be assigned to the one of the front panel keys or external key terminals.
The Power OFF Emergency function makes the radio transmit emergency calls, even though it appears
to be powered OFF.
When the function is activated, any key operation, hook action and Lone Worker function becomes
invalid, as well as the LED and speaker act as if they are powered OFF.
On the other hand, the radio can transmit emergency calls according to the emergency settings, and
the Ambience Listening function is also operable, if it is programmed.

4-4-7 Lone Worker Emergency Call

O Lone Worker Emergency Call Function
When the Lone Worker function is turned ON, and no operation is performed for the specified time
period, the transceiver enters the emergency mode, and then the countdown for the emergency call
transmission starts. After the specified time period has passed, an emergency call is automatically
transmitted once, or repeatedly. If someone operates the transceiver before the call is transmitted,
the transceiver exits the emergency mode, and the emergency call is cancelled.

255 minutes (in 1 minute steps).
To turn the function OFF, set to "0 (OFF)."

When the radio is left in a horizontal position for a specified time period, the radio enters the emergency
mode, and then the countdown starts.
After the specified time period has passed, an emergency call is automatically transmitted once, or
repeatedly.
If the radio is placed in a vertical position before the first transmission, the radio exits the emergency
mode and the emergency call is cancelled.

Set the Man Down function ON.

Tone/RAN CH Select (Only for the mobile radios)
- While in analog mode operation, push to enter the continuous tone channel selection mode. Then
select a desired tone frequency/code setting using [CH Up] or [CH Down]. After the selection, push
this key again to set it.
- While in digital mode operation, push to enter the RAN channel selection mode. Then select a
desired RAN code using [CH Up] or [CH Down]. After the selection, push this key again to set.
- While in mixed (digital and analog) mode operation, push to enter the continuous tone channel
selection mode. Then select a desired tone frequency/code setting by pushing [CH Up] or [CH
Down]. After the selection, push this key to set it. After that, RAN channel selection mode appears.
Select a desired RAN code by pushing [CH Up] or [CH Down]. After the selection, push this key
again to set it.
TX Code CH Select (Only for the mobile radios)
- Push to enter the TX code channel selection mode.
1. Push [TX Code CH Select] to enter the TX code channel selection mode.
2. Push [CH Up] or [CH Down] to select a desired TX code channel.
3. After selecting, push [TX Code CH Select] to store the setting and return to the standby mode.
- During TX code selection mode, hold down this key for 1 second to enter the TX code edit mode
(5-tone).
(Only for the PMR model)
1. Push [TX Code CH Select] to enter the TX code channel selection mode.
2. Hold down [TX Code CH Select] for 1 second to enter the TX code edit mode.
3. Push [TX Code CH Select] to select the desired digit to be edited.
4. Push [CH Up] or [CH Down] to select the desired digit.
5. Push [TX Code CH Select] to set it. The digit to the right will automatically blink.
6. Repeat step 4 and step 5 to input all editable digits.
7. After editing, push [TX Code CH Select] to store the setting and return to the standby mode.
NOTE: Set the user editable digits in the Input Digit setting in the 5-Tone TX Code CH sheet.
TX Code CH Up/Down (Only for the PMR model mobile radios)
- Push to select a TX code channel*.
* Selectable channel can be specified in the 5-Tone TX Code CH sheet.
- Push to set the desired digit during the TX code edit mode.
TX Code CH UP/DN (Only for the LMR model mobile radios)
Push to select a TX code channel.

TX Code Enter (Only for the PMR model mobile radios)
Push to enter the TX code edit mode (5-tone).
1. Push [TX Code Enter] to enter the TX code edit mode.
2. Push [TX Code Enter] to select the desired digit to be edited.
3. Push [CH Up] or [CH Down] to select the desired digit.
4. Push [TX Code Enter] to set. The digit to the right will automatically blink.
5. Repeat step 3 and step 4 to input all editable digits.
6. After editing, push [TX Code Enter] to store the setting and return to the standby mode.
NOTE : Set the user editable digits in the Input Digit setting in the 5-Tone TX Code CH sheet.
User Set Mode (Only for the mobile radios)
- Hold down for 1 second to enter the User Set mode.
The User Set mode is used for programming infrequently changed values or conditions of
functions without PC programming.
- In the User Set mode, push this key momentarily to select an item, and then push [CH Up] or [CH
Down] to change the value or setting.
- Hold down for 1 second again to exit the User Set mode.
Wide/Narrow (Analog mode operation only)
Push to switch the channel width to Wide or Narrow.
- Push to switch the channel width to Wide.
- Hold down for 1 second to switch the channel width to Narrow.
NOTE for the PMR model:
Select the "Wide" channel width between 25.0 (Wide) and 20.0 (Middle) kHz in the Common
sheet;
Common > Common > Others > Wide Band Width
Zone (Only for the mobile radios)
Push to enter the zone selection mode, and then push [CH Up] or [CH Down] to select a desired
zone.
