FAQ How does Bluetooth work in my FG Falcon MkII? FG Falcon MkII Bluetooth Mobile integration enables you to access hands free calling by connecting your mobile phone via Bluetooth to a phone module installed in your vehicle. You can receive and make hands free calls and the phone functions are controlled via steering wheel buttons and the Interior Command Centre (ICC) controls. On selected mobile phones, you can also stream music through the FG Falcon MkII's audio system via Bluetooth. Are all Bluetooth phones compatible with the system? No, not all Bluetooth phones are compatible, phones must have the Bluetooth handsfree profile to be able to connect with the Falcon. Furthermore, when connected to the FG Falcon MkII Bluetooth System, mobile phones have varied level of compatibility. And not all functions in the system are available with all phones. Ford will evaluate and test newly released Bluetooth phones to help ensure quality operation and compatibility. Which phones are compatible with my Ford? This document lists all phones tested for compatibility with the latest FG Falcon MkII Bluetooth system. Major calling functions are marked with a tick or cross depending on the level of functionality the phone has with the system. My phone isn't on this list. Will it work with my Falcon? If your phone is not on the Ford-tested phone list, full or limited functions may be available. But since Ford has not tested the telephone, Ford cannot comment on the level of phone compatibility. Why isn't my current Bluetooth phone listed? Existing Bluetooth phones that are not listed are most probably not tested. A non-tested phone may be tested at a later point in time or it may not be tested at all. Because of the high number of new Bluetooth phones being introduced to the marketplace, Ford will not be able to test all phones. Why does my Bluetooth phone have different functionalities than what is indicated indicated in the Ford test results in this document? This can happen if you have a different software version in your mobile phone than what was used in the testing of this specific phone. Please check your phone Owner's Manual for instructions on how to update your phone's software. Other factors also affect the test results of the Bluetooth system, e.g. functionality may differ depending on what network operator is being used. Therefore, the results can only be seen as an indication of what to expect from the FG Falcon MkII Bluetooth System. How do I pair a compatible phone? A compatible phone can be paired by following the instructions in your phone Owner's Manual, vehicle Owner's Manual or by contacting your local Ford Dealership. How many phones can I pair? The system supports up to eight different phones, although only one phone can be connected at any one time. If you attempt to add a ninth phone, the system will automatically delete the first paired phone. How do I change the name of my phone on the the paired list? You must edit the name of the phone before you pair it with the system. Please check your phone Owner's Manual for instructions on how to change your phone's Bluetooth ID. Why doesn't the system automatically connect to my paired phone? On your phone, please set Bluetooth to be "ON" and/or "Discoverable" at all times, and/or make sure that the vehicle is marked as a "trusted" device. This will allow the

vehicle to automatically connect when it is in range. Some phones do not allow automatic connections at all, so please refer to your phone Owner's Manual for details on adjusting the Bluetooth settings. Do I have to subscribe to a specific carrier? No. The system uses your existing carrier. Which device does the ICC connect to first? The ICC attempts to connect to all paired devices, one at a time, starting with the most recently connected device. The ICC stops searching after the first successful connection. You can manually select another device via the ICC menu Manage Paired Devices. How do I transfer an existing phone call from the handset to the Ford Bluetooth system? A phone call on a compatible Ford-tested mobile phone can be transferred to the vehicle in two ways: 1. Press and hold the steering wheel button for 2 seconds, or 2. Select to transfer using your handset. Please refer to your handset Owner's Manual. The ICC display will show the phone connected and you will be able to continue your conversation hands free. Why is my device failing to connect to the vehicle? Consider the below scenarios: 1. Has the device been paired to the vehicle? Please pair the device to the vehicle by following the instructions provided by Ford and the phone manufacturer.

2. Has Pairing information been deleted on phone or ICC? If Pairing information is deleted from either device and a connection is attempted, the connection will fail. Please firstly clear pairing information from the ICC and the device then re-pair following instructions provided by Ford and the phone manufacturer. 3. Is the device switched on? Ensure your device is switched on to ensure vehicle is able to connect to it. 4. Is the device in range? Please ensure device is located within the vehicle to ensure vehicle is able to connect to it. 5. Is Bluetooth enabled on your device? Please follow the instructions provided by the phone manufacturer to enable Bluetooth functionality. 6. Has the device been set to prevent incoming connections? Please follow the instructions provided by the phone manufacturer to allow connection to phone and audio media profiles. 7. Is the device refusing incoming connections? Attempt to initiate connection to the vehicle from the phone. Follow the instructions provided by the phone manufacturer to connect to the vehicle via Bluetooth.

8. Is Wi-Fi active on your device? Some devices are known to have issues when Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled at the same time. Try disabling Wi-Fi on your device to see if this corrects the problem

9. Check if the vehicle is set to prevent incoming audio profile connections. Follow instructions provided by Ford to re-enable Bluetooth Streaming. Why is the name of the person calling me not shown on the display (only a number is shown)? This can happen when a call is made before the phonebook is fully downloaded. Wait for your phonebook to download before making a call. This will allow caller iD to be matched to a contact name from your phone book. Check that the caller ID matches exactly with the contacts detail in your phone. Why is "Caller ID Unknown" shown instead of the number of the person calling? In most cases, this is because the person may be calling from a device which has caller identification blocked or the device itself may not support caller ID. Why does my device fail to pair to the vehicle for the first time? When pairing a device, some devices are known to fail for the first time as they automatically try a known PIN of "0000" or "1234". If this happens, please try pairing again. Why can't I see my phone contacts on the ICC? If your device supports PBAP and is on the approved device list, however your phonebook contacts list shows "No Contacts Found" please check if your device has requested authorisation to download your contacts. Why is my device disconnecting then reconnecting to the vehicle? This can happen when the battery level for your device is low. This can also occur if the device not located in close proximity to the ICC. Ensure that the device is located within the vehicle cabin (near the ICC), and not in your pocket. If frequent disconnections are occurring, try disabling Wi-Fi on your device. Who do I contact if I have further questions or need assistance? If further assistance is needed, contact your local Ford Dealership. Where can I get more information about FG Falcon MkII Bluetooth Bluetooth Installation & Troubleshooting? Customers can refer to their Ford Dealership for any more information on the use of the FG Falcon MkII Bluetooth system.
