MARKET UPDATES & STOCK RECOMMENDATION Singapore industrial rents were up 4.4% QoQ this quarter (2Q13: -0.1% QoQ), with warehouse rent index rising 4.6% QoQ (2Q13: -2.4%) and factory rent index up 4.4% QoQ (2Q13: 0.1%). Singapore Exchange (SGX) announced that it is consulting the market on a new remote membership class, which will enable futures commission merchants registered with the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to clear swaps for existing and new US customers through SGXs derivatives clearing house. Modest fluctuations in occupancy rates for the next two quarters are likely to be expected in the range of 87 to 89% especially in Downtown Core. With only 26% occupancy rate in Asia Square, relocations and flight to quality by tenants from older Grade A buildings are expected. Fringe Area occupancy change is expected to be more stable as existing tenants prefer lower rents in their current locations. Singapore Exchange Ltd. (SGX), Southeast Asias biggest bourse operator, wants to lure more high-speed traders onto its stock market as it grapples with lower volume. HONGKONG LAND
