Introduction
Recognized by several Names:
Soft Energy Appropriate Energy Green Energy Renewable Energy Alternative Energy

CONVENTIONAL SOURCES OF ENERGY

COAL OIL GAS NUCLEAR

COAL
It is fossilized remains of plants that were buried million of years ago, which fulfills the requirement of domestic and industrial energy. It was deployed until the end of the 19th century

OIL
Deployed when massive Middle Eastern and North African oil fields in 1950 and 60s were opened. It replaced the coal and became wide spread.

GAS
Another option, the demand of which rose in the post world war II. It comes to be 1/5th of the worlds total consumption of the fossil fuels

NUCLEAR
This option could still only make a small contribution to meet the worlds energy demands if thousands of large nuclear reactors could be built over coming decades.
