Skills and Interests
C, C++, Java, Perl, Bash and PHP
Developed a P2P filesharing application with 32/64 bit interoperability and created a mutual
exclusion library in C; implemented a (subset of) C compiler with C++ (Bison and Lex); Java
experience using generics and interfaces within the Eclipse framework; data extraction and
collation with Perl, basic Bash scripting and some familiarity with PHP.
BIND, SVN, Git, patch/quilt
Configured and deployed a BIND DNS server at the Georgia Tech Research Institute, employed
patch and quilt to maintain Debian packages and utilized Subversion and Git on collaborative
school/research research projects.
Security tools and crosscompilers
Employed and developed documentation for an array of network/OS security tools at the Georgia
Tech Research Institute (GTRI); employed various crosscompilers in embedded device research.
Other interests
Cloud computing, functional programming (Haskell), distributed systems programming (Erlang),
microkernels (GNU Hurd, OKL4) and program correctness/verification.
Experiences
Electronic Systems Laboratory (ELSYS) at GTRI Summer 2009...
Identified vulnerabilities on the GTRI network and worked to develop an operating system for
network security testing. Configured network internals such as routing tables, DNS servers and
DHCP; worked with and helped develop documentation for various network/OS security tools.
Dynamic compilation (undergraduate research) Spring 2008 – Spring 2009
Instrumented and optimized bytecode; helped develop new program optimization techniques.
Worked with the C++ Standard Template Library (STL) and the Low Level Virtual Machine
(LLVM) framework.
Embedded security (undergraduate research) Summer 2009
Sought improvement in the security of cellular devices and networks with secure routing techniques
and OS virtualization. Worked at the systems level with Google’s Android operating system; Used a
variety of toolchains and/or crosscompilers on embedded devices.
