Grammar: Grade 7 Unit 1: Subjects, Predicates, and Sentences Lesson 4: Kinds of Sentences: Compound Subjects and Predicates A sentence may have more than one simple subject or simple predicate. Two or more simple subjects that have the same predicate form a compound subject. The subjects are joined by and, or, or but. Keiko or Aek can fix that bike for you. A compound predicate has two or more simple predicates, or verbs, that have the same subject. The simple predicates are connected by and, or, or but. Bees drink nectar and eat other insects. Exercise 1: Draw one line under each part of a compound subject.
