Interpretation of Aarti
jaya sada guru swami, prabhu jaya sada guru swami Shajananda dayalu, balavanta bahu nami. jaya sada... All glories, All glories to my eternal master; -wami -hajanda is very merciful, powerful, and has a lot of names. Purport !he incarnation of -hree -waminarayan 9ahaprabhu is considered one of the most merciful incarnation. .reviously in other incarnations, the demons or the irreligious people were killed by the incarnations but -hree -waminarayan 9ahaprabhu gave bhakti, the love of *odhead to fallen, irreligious and demoniac people. <obanpagi is very good e=ample of that. 4=cusing the offenses of <obanpagi, 8e awarded him the best of all benedictions, prema. !here are innumerable e=amples of -waminarayan 9ahaprabhu showering 8is mercy on fallen souls.

!his is 8is mercy. Also there is no one e>ual to 8im in power. 5hagvan is defined in shastras as one who posses all beauty, all power, all wealth, all renunciation, all knowledge. As -waminarayan 9ahaprabhu is the -upreme "ord, 9ukatananda -wami says that 8e is all powerful. charana saroj tamara vandu kar jodi, charane shisha dhariya thi, dukh nakhya todi. jaya sada... 3ith folded hands + pay my obeisances to the "otus /eet of -hree -hajanada -wami. 6ne?s all miseries are gone by simply surrendering to 8is "otus /eet. Purport 8ere the "ords /eet are described as "otus /eet. !he lotus flower when in full bloom resembles "ords /eet. !he foot is like the middle portionof the lotus flower and the fingers are the petals. !hus 9ukatananda -wami says, that he is concentrating his consciousness on that "otus /eet. !he intention of concentrating on the "otus /eet is a sign of humility. !he devotee is always in the mood of being surrendered to the "ord. 8e thinks that he cannot e=ist with the intervention of "ord. 5ut a non devotee thinks that he himself is the doer of everything, and thus is being subjected to so many failures and success. /or a devotee, everything is the wish of "ord 8ari, who is always in charge of the happenings in the entire universe. !his attitude of paying obeisances to the "otus /eet, makes sure that pride or false ego do not creep into the devotee?s heart. A devotee never considers himself superior to the -upreme "ord. 5ut one note is to be taken here that while interacting with other individuals it is preferable to judge the platform of the other person and then act accordingly. 5eing humble at all places might not bring out positive results. -o the thumb rule is that we should try to behave in a manner in which we are able to always serve the -upreme "ord constantly. <ust like Arjuna is satisfying the "ord by killing the enemies on the battlefield. Narayan Nara bhrata dvija kula tanu dhari, pamar patit udhaarya aganit nara nari. jaya sada... !he @ivine brothers Nara Narayan @ev has taken birth in the brahmin family as human beings. 8e is the liberator of helpless and fallen souls, uncountable men and women. Purport Nara Narayan @ev were also cursed along with other devotees. -upreme "ord is above all the actions and reactions. 8e does not need to perform any activities as 8e is always complete. 5ut for the pleasure of the devotees, 8e devises different scenes to appear on this planet. 8is main object of concentration is 8is devotees. Although 8e is e>ual to everyone 8e is more inclined towards 8is devotees, paritranaya sadhunam. 8e always wants all the suffering souls to attain 8is -upreme @ham where there is eternal happiness in the service of -upreme "ord and 8is devotees. nitya nitya nautam lila karta avinashi, adashat tirtha charana, koti gaya kashi. jaya sada...

"ord -waminarayan, who is Avinashi, eternal, is daily performing new and pleasing pastimes. 6n 8is "otus /eet reside all the pilgrimages, and they are more auspicious then millions of *aya and Aashi tirthas combined together. Purport !he pastimes of the "ord are very sweet and they are more sweeter as we hear them again and again. -wami says here that -waminarayan 9ahaprabhu performed various pastimes while 8e was among us in the human form, and they were all very sweet and beautiful, that they seemed to be new and fresh every time. @ue to the presence of this >uality in the pastimes of the "ord, it is known as lilamrita. Lilamrita means lila and amrita. Lila is pastimes and amrita is nectar. Nectar is always sweet and eternal. Also nectar gives us eternality. !hus the pastimes of "ord when heard are just like nectar for the conditioned souls, as they give him eternality is residence in the abode of "ord, along with 8im, in 8is service. -wami also sings about the glories of the "otus /eet of the "ord. 8e says that one who is surrendered at !he "otus /eet of the "ord does not need visit different sacred places as all of them are present at 8is "otus /eet. purushottam pragat nu je darshan karshe, kala karma thi chooti, kutumb sahita tarashe. jaya sada... 3hoever will have a glimpse of this -upreme "ord who is present amongst us today, will con>uer over time and karma, and will cross over this ocean of misery along with his whole family. Purport +t is said in -hreemad 5hagvatam and -hreemad 5hagvat *ita that -upreme "ord 8imself is the devouring time. mrtyuh sarva-haras caham, udbhavas ca bhavisyatam; kirtih srir vak ca narinam, smritir medha dhrtih ksama. + am all devouring death, and + am the generating principle of all that is yet to be. Among women + am fame, fortune, fine speech, memory, intelligence, steadfastness and patience. +t is this time that brings old age and death. !ime snatches away everything we posses at the time of death. 3e die every moment and the final blow is known as death. -till, knowing this simple truth, a human being is very attached to his belonging and is very lusty to enjoy them. +n order to accumulate and protect these belongings, a person undergoes varieties of activities that is binding him to this material world. +t is said that any activity that is not aimed at serving the -upreme .ersonality of *odhead, is binding us to this cycle of birth and death. @oes this mean that a person should become inactiveB 5eing inactive is not a possible state. !hus the only solution is that whatever we do, we should do that as a service to the -upreme "ord. 3e may indulge in this worldly matters but the only motive should be to satisfy "ord 8ari. !hus raising family, working outside to get money, and everything else should be done as a service to 8im. "ord -waminarayan is further relieving the pain of this material world by giving us the protection of 8is mercy. 9uktananda -wami says that just by having a glimpse of this merciful "ord, one can cross this vaste ocean of material e=istence, then what to say

about the benefit of sincerely serving 8im. 5ut even to get a glimpse of this -upreme "ord is difficult till we are in the bodily conception of life. aa avashar Karunanidhi karuna bahu kidhi, Muktananda kahe mukti, sugam kari siddhi. jaya sada... "ord -waminarayan, who is the 6cean of 9ercy, has bestowed a lot of mercy this time. And due to that +, 9uktanada -wami, declare that attaining liberation has become very easy. Purport 8uman being is a very miserable animal. According to the scientific nomenclature, human beings are classified into the mammals and are a named 78omo -apiens -apiens.7 According to the -hasta, human being is considered an animal if there is no effort vested in self reali:ation. Cathato bhramha jigyasa. +t is the asking of >uestions like who am I !here have I come "rom !here will I go !ho is god !hat is my relation with god , starts the journey of self reali:ation. +t is only at that time one leaves the animal platform and starts behaving on the human platform. 6therwise simply to eat, sleep, mate, and defend is e=actly what an animal does. 3e are doing it somewhat sophisticatedly. 6therwise there is no difference. Also due to our association with the material nature since time immemorial, we are conditioned to enjoy our senses and live as an animal. !hus it is very difficult to understand the philosophy of self reali:ation. +t does not seem rational to us when all the others are enjoying their senses and living happily. !hus -waminarayan 9ahaprabhu is here, to save us, give us a chance to understand this very nice philosophy. 8e is the ocean of mercy. +t is 8is mercy that we are in contact of this -ampradaya. 6therwise there are numerable other souls struggling to enjoy this life, and they are not aware of this very nice philosophy. -o this Aaruna nidhi, 6cean of ,ompassion, is showering upon us 8is mercy, we should be very alert and try to grab it as much as possible. !o attain the love of *od is very difficult. !herefore, it is portrayed as a siddhi 'great achievement( by 9uktanada -wami. 5ut by the mercy of "ord -hree 8ari this has become very easy. <ust by surrendering unto 8is "otus /eet, we will be able to cross over this ignorance and come to the real platform of knowledge. 6ur acharyas have left for us an ocean of knowledge in the form of books. !hese books known as -hastas or granths, were written under the e=pert guidance of -hreeman 9ahaprabhu. !hey are spotless. Now the ball is in our court. +t is we who have to become spotless at heart, remove all the dirt of material association, grab and drink this nectar by eyes and ears. As a matter of fact, listening and singing/ chanting are the very first of the nine different was in which one can discharge devotional service unto the -upreme .ersonality of *odhead. sravanam, kirtanam #ishnuh-smaranam, pada-sevanam archanam, vandanam, dasyam, sakhyam, atma-nivedanam. '-hreemad 5hagvatam, 1th canto, ).&$( $rahlad %aharaj says& 'hearing and chanting about the transcendental holy name, "orm, (ualities, paraphernalia, and pastimes o" Lord #ishnu, remembering them, serving the Lotus )eet o" the Lord, o""ering the Lord respect"ul worship with si*teen types o" paraphernalia, o""ering prayers to the Lord, becoming +is servant, considering the Lord ones best "riend, and surrendering everything unto +im.' <ust by chanting the mahamantra we can attain the -upreme "ord, for whom many yogis are

performing austerity for thousands of years. +sn?t this the greatest mercy. <ust by chanting the holy name of the "ord C-waminarayan, -waminarayan..? and listening it attentively, our heart gets cleansed, Ccetao darpana marjanam and our pains of material e=istence is relieved C bhava maha davagni nirvapanam. As soon as our heart is clear we will be able to sight the -upreme .ersonality of *odhead in his most munificent form smiling at us. 8e is known as 9ukunda, the giver of mukti. /or 8is devotees, mukti is very easily attainable. 9ukti is the maid servant of bhakti. -o 9uktananda -wami says that by the mercy of -waminarayan 9ahaprabhu we will get bhakti, prema, love for the -upreme "ord, and what to talk about mukti.
