LESSON PLAN TEMPLATE

Year Level: 8 Period/Lesson: 3&4 Date: 7/11/13 Topic: Music Time: 10.40 11.55 Length: 1hour 15

Lesson Outcomes: Students will be able to/know Students will refresh their memories of previous learnt concepts in order to learn about accidentals and then have a good understanding of accidentals. Assessment of the outcomes: (How will I assess that students have achieved/demonstrated the outcomes?) Students will fill out a work sheet made by myself of which I will check - once they have finished this students will come and collect all ten of the different names needed to label the pianos black keys (eg: A# or Bb) by themselves, then glue them to an A4 piece of paper showing a keyboard image: students will keep these pieces of paper as music resources and continue onto a game of snap using flashcards made by myself. This game will test students as they can not use, for example, two G#s as a snap, but a G# and an Ab. Students who have done their work quickly will be able to have more time playing snap, increasing the speed of their accidental reading ability. INTRODUCTORY PHASE: Time
