Costs: My costs for my graphic novel need to be carefully thought out.

I will need to think about the equipment and resources, transport and props that will mainly be the things I will need to work out the cost for. Luckily I have resources available to me such as my own SLR camera. nly taking photographs on location, which is along a public pathway, therefore I will not need to get permission. !he cost of travel will again be free as in walking distance I have the wonderland needed for my photographs before production. "aper and pencils will need to be purchased. verall the cost will be low. Available resources: #lready available to me I have a handful of resources. I own my own SLR camera and multiple lenses to create a quality image. !he Mac computer software is available to me in college with "hotoshop that I will use for post production. I will have location and props available to me. I can scan my illustrations at college or photograph them with my own camera. Quantity: #lice in $onderland is a popular and common novel for young children to buy because of the magic involved in the storyline, and it is usually children%s first magical novel. #dults are familiar with the storyline therefore they know what they are going to buy for their children. !herefore I would like to make it a limited edition so a small amount will be printed. It will make it different to what is already out there and this will make the product more desirable to the audience as there will be a limited amount produced which will make people want the product more so they can be one of a few to own the product. Audience and Target Market: #s much as the target audience if for young children, it also needs to be aimed for the parents or guardians as they are more likely going to be the consumers. #lice in $onderland is a classic children%s fairy&tale that most adults will know therefore they know the contents will for fill their children. !he product will achieve children from the ages of '&() as being the primary consumer. !hey are mature to understand the story but still find it e*citing and magical. !here will not be lots of te*t so they can read the story by detailed images keeping them interested and not bored. Quality Factors: +y choosing to use digital photography and rotoscope on top of illustrations I can achieve the best quality for my graphic novel through this. !hese are good ways to produce a high quality panel as with photography you can ad,ust settings and take as any pictures needed to choose the best one. +ut rotoscoping has a high level of quality and the quality can be ad,usted in "hotoshop. -nowing my way around my own SLR camera gives me an advantage as I know what settings I will need for certain things to achieve the best quality.

Codes of Practice: [6. T!e "ublis!er #ust !andle #anuscri"ts "ro#"tly$ and kee" t!e aut!or infor#ed of "rogress.% !his code insures everything is handed in on time and checked to the best of their ability. !he author should be prompted with a date when they will hear from the publisher ne*t, and every si* weeks should they send a progress report. .If an author fails to deliver a completed manuscript according to the contract or within the contracted period, the publisher may be entitled to a refund/ I am to stick to a strict time schedule with having my work uploaded on specific dates set out to me a week or two before. I will not release or publish anything illegal or defamatory. *egulation: +bscene Publications Act ,-.-& .!he definition of obscene is 0likely to deprave and corrupt0 the audience for which it is intended and includes not only se*ually e*plicit material but material relating to violence and drug taking./ 1www.channel2.com3producers&handbook3media&law3other&laws&affecting& broadcasting3obscene&publications&act&(4546 #lice in $onderland is an old novel written in (785 when smoking and cannabis was socially accepted. !he caterpillar smokes a hookah which could corrupt the thoughts of a young child. $e generally keep our children away from drugs and smoking so seeing a caterpillar holding a hookah in a children%s book is unusual. +ut it could be to represent his wise personality, the image of a wise old man smoking a pipe. !his image is common in stories and even their own lives with their grandparents. !herefore we cannot tell if the caterpillar is smoking for harm and may children see this scene in their own lives and is not corrupting their own senses. Co"yrig!t: #lice in wonderland was originally written by Lewis 9arroll in (785, 9arroll died in (747 therefore the copyrights to #lice in $onderland are withheld. !he original story has been transformed twice into films. !he first by $alt :isney in (45( and the more recent film from !im +urton in );(;. +oth the films have been adapted from the book to fit their own genres and timing. I will also adapt the original storyline as it is a long, action&packed novel. I will also not copy the film versions storylines as these scripts do have a copyright. /t!ical )ssues: !he only ethical issues I could think of were from the storyline of #lice in $onderland and the characters in the story. Some of the names used to describe the characteristics of the characters may be offensive. !he term <mad% is used frequently, and in this sentence= 0but I don>t want to go among mad people,0 #lice remarked,/ could cause people with a mental disability to be offended the way the sentence and the phrase is worded. !he original novel was written in (785 when there were no codes for the ethical issues and no lines to follow therefore some of the written work could be taken offensively but in no means harm. +ut I will not include any written harm or offence, another good reason why most of my panels do not have dialogue.
