Hello, I'm Erin Rasco, a first year graduate student in the teaching program at SUNY Plattsburgh.

I grew up in Saranac and attended Saranac Central School. After graduation I attended St. Lawrence and got my Bachelors in Science in Neuroscience. I had always been interested in science and after graduation figured going for my Ph.D. was the best plan for me. Four years into this I decided I hated research but loved being a TA (the part most grad students complained about!). Upon realizing this, I decided I wanted to teach and upon receiving my Masters in Neuroscience at Stony Brook move back up north to attend SUNY Plattsburgh to get my Masters in Adolescent Education with a concentration in Biology. Due to my interest in the brain, I have also decided to get my secondary certification in Special Education. In my spare time, I am an avid triathlete. I enjoy doing anything outdoors and triathlon gives me a way to stay healthy, get out some of my competitive spirit and enjoy the beautiful north country. When not training I also love reading, especially science fiction. I hope you enjoy my website and it provides some useful resources for science teachers!
