JESUS CHRIST THE HEALER Pastor Sean Pinder This is what I want to talk to you about todayJesus Christ:

The Healer. I know there are some people who do not believe in healing. I do not believe in healing, either. I believe in the Healer, and His name is Jesus. I do not believe in something, I believe in someone. His name is Jesus. I did not come to preach about healing to you; I came to preach about the Healer. I did not come to preach about salvation; I came to preach about the Savior. I did not come to preach about deliverance; I came to preach about the Deliverer. His name is Jesus. That is Who I came to preach about: Jesus. And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea. (Mark 5:21) Much people gathered to Jesus. Do you see what people are looking for? They are looking for Jesus. Are you listening? It is not so much about a man standing before you, preaching. It is about Who he is preaching about and Who he is representing: Jesus. And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet, and besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live. (Mark 5:22-23) In this particular story, this little girl was 12 years old. Think about that. Twelve years prior to this incident, a beautiful little baby girl was born to Jairus family. Twelve years down the road now, all of a sudden, she is stricken with some type of sickness that is threatening to take her life. It took much humility on Jairus part, him being a leader of the synagogue, to come to Jesus. If you read the book of John chapter 9, it says that anyone who confessed that Jesus was Lord was going to be kicked from out of the synagogues. You have to understand. Jairus, being a ruler of the synagogue, had good relations and connections with the Pharisees and the scribes of his day. They made some rules and said that, if any man confessed that Jesus was the Christ the Messiah, the Anointed One, the King of Israelthey would kick him out of the synagogue and strip him of his position. I have learned that there comes a time, during certain places in peoples lives, where certain things will happen to cause them to climb over some pride. Are you listening to me? Jairus daughter was at the point of death and no Pharisee, no scribe,

or any other of his buddies could help him. Sometimes, God has to allow us to run into tragedy so we can know who our friends really are. And [Jairus] besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death This was an intense situation. We are talking about someones little girl here. I would be floored if one of my little daughters was at the point of death. I would be willing to die in her place. I cannot even imagine what was going through his mind. He must have been confused, frustrated, hurting, and everything else. And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him. (Mark 5:24) In another Gospel, the Bible says Jesus said to Jairus, I will come and lay hands on your daughter. I will come and heal her. Jesus is on His way to your hous e. Now, I like this chapter right here for this particular reason: we are going to see two desperate people. Here it is, Jesus is walking with Jairus, and He has thousands of people around Him. They are on their way to Jairus house. However, in verse 25, there is a little interruption. Look at this verse: And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years. (Mark 5:25) How long did this woman have an issue of blood? She had this issue of blood for twelve years. Jairus daughter was at the age of 12. So that means, 12 years prior to this particular chapter, in a hospital, there was a beautiful baby girl born to Jairus family. Perhaps on the same day that that girl was born, this woman had an issue of blood. One family was rejoicing, while the other family was getting tragic news: Mama is hemorrhaging. Mama is about to bleed to death. One family in the hospital was rejoicing, but the other family is dealing with tragedy. Isnt that amazing? Everybody has their time. Now, 12 years later, not only is this womans issue of blood and hemorrhaging threatening to take her life, but the life of this little baby girl, who was born wealthy, is also in danger. The devil wants to kill you. Oh, yes he does. He wants you out of the way. And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years. And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse. (Mark 5:25-26) This woman had an issue of blood for 12 long years. She was hemorrhaging; that is a long time to be bleeding. The verse says she suffered many things of many physicians Isnt that amazing? It says right here in this verse that she suffered many things of many doctors. Am I preaching the truth? As long as she had money, they

offered her hope. But I know of a Doctor Who is free of charge. He specializes in things that seem impossible and He has never failed a case. Do you have any clue Who I am talking about? Ask Blind Bartimaeus. Blind Bartimaeus, in the book of Mark 10:46-52, was born blind. The Bible says he heard that Jesus was about to pass by. Tell someone, Jesus is about to pass by. This manwho was hopeless all his life and never dreamed that, one day, he would get his eyesight backheard that the Healer was about to pass by. Are you listening to me? This man was hopeless, but I like Doctor Jesus! He has lots of hope to offer His hurting children. We are talking about someone Who has never lost a case. Ask Lazarus (John 11:1-45). Mary and Martha sent a call for Jesus, and Jesus said, Ill just wait a little longer. When He got there, they told Him, You are too late. Tell someone, Jesus is never late. He may be late by your schedule, but not by Gods. How torn apart they were because He did not show up when they wanted Him to show up. Waiting is a painful process. When Jesus showed up, Martha bowed at His feet and said, If you had been here, this would not have happened! But I know that, even now, whatever you ask God, He can do it. Jesus said, Daughter, didnt I tell you that, if you believe, you will see the glory of God? Hang on to your faith; dont let go. Do not let go. I dont care what the situation looks like. I dont care how hopeless it may be. Do not let go. God has a plan for your life. Jesus said, Didnt I tell you that, if you believe, you will see? Listen to what she said to Jesus. She said, I know you are going to raise him up at the last day. Jesus said, No. Im not going to raise him up at the last day. The resurrection is not a day; the resurrection is a Person. His Name is Jesus. He has never failed a case! Jesus said, Martha and Mary, where did you put Lazarus? They said, Oh no, Lord! By now he stinks! Jesus said, I will even go where it stinks! Are you listening to me? Jesus does not care what the situation looks like. He said, Show me where you laid him. Show me; I have something I want to do. They took Him down to the graveside where Lazarus was buried. He had been dead now for four days. Jesus said, Take away the stone. After you do what you can do, then God will perform the supernatural and He will do what no other man on the face of this earth can do. The Bible says, when they had rolled away the stone, He looked up to Heaven and this is what He said: Father, I thank you that you hear me always. Then, He lifted up His voice and said, Lazarus, come forth! The Bible says he that was dead came out of that tomb! Do you know what Jesus said? Loose the man and let him go! Jesus said, I am the resurrection, and the life (John 11:25). He is life!

Lets go back to Mark 5. Verse 26 says the woman did not get better; she just got worse. Then, something good happened in verse 27: When she had heard of Jesus, [she] came in the press behind, and touched his garment. She heard of Jesus. That is all you have to hear about! For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. (Mark 5:28) This woman was a dying woman. She had been bleeding for 12 years. She was considered unclean by the people in her day. She was not supposed to be out in a crowd of people. When you are determined to get to Jesus, however, no person, no devil, no man-made rules or regulations can stop you. Nothing can keep you from getting to Jesus when you get desperate. She was a weak woman, dying, but she was determined. Tell someone, Im determined! I have my mi nd made up. I am determined. I may offend some people. Can you imagine that a few people in the crowd recognized her and thought, What is she doing out here? Shes supposed to be in the house shut away; she isnt supposed to be in public. She isnt supposed to be around anybody. She is unclean! I will bet she was thinking in her mind, I dont care what they think. It isnt those folks that need the miracle, it is me. It isnt those folks that are dying, it is me! Are you listening to me? When you get desperate, you become real offensive to some people. They cannot handle it. People sometimes ask about me, Why is he so loud? You dont know where God brought me from! I was bound by the devil. I was lost, but now I am found. I was blind, but now I see. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. She was saying, I just have to get to Jesus! If I can just get to where He is, I know that Ill be made whole! What made this woman make such a confession? What made her make this statement? What is it that she heard about Jesus that stirred her to say, If I can touch His clothes, Ill be made whole? What did she hear? I believe she heard the account of Luke 6:19: And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all. They only desired His touch; it is impossible for 10,000 people to touch one man, am I telling the truth? It is totally impossible for them to touch Him all at once. The Bible says they sought to touch him They only desired His touch; it was impossible for all of them to get to Him. Yet they were so hungry and their faith was so strong that the Bible says, there went virtue [power] out of him, and healed them all. Every sick person in that service was healed by the power of the Holy Ghost.

Do you know what my Bible says in Heb. 13:8? Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Do you know what that means? He will do it again. Oh, yes He will! I dont care what your sickness is. Psalm 103:3 says, [He] healeth all thy diseases. He heals all. He heals, how many? He heals all. I like preaching this because this isnt the word of a denomination. Some of them would take that out of there. There was a man in one of our services in the Bahamas that was going totally blind from diabetes. He lost about 60% of his eyesight. Guess Who passed by in that service? It was Jesus! The man stood to testify that the diabetes that was taking his eyesight was gone; he got 20/20 vision in that service! Did you catch that? His eyesight was restored because Jesus Christ is still the same yesterday, and to day, and forever. That is the Jesus we serve! The man demonstrated his healing. He stood up and read stuff he couldnt read. We were not staging this; I had never seen that man before a day in my life. Jesus knows all about it. He knows your situation. Do you know what He asked Jeremiah? Is there any thing too hard for [the Lord]? (Jer. 32:27). Do you know what He asked Ezekiel? Can these bones live? (Ez. 37:3). He will do it again. Diabetes in that service had to bow because the Bible says, At the name of Jesus every knee should bowandevery tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Phil. 2:10-11). We were another service in New Orleans in June of 2001. A woman there had suffered from a stroke; she was paralyzed in her right side. Her arm was swollen really big. Guess what happened? Jesus! The Bible says demons tremble at the Name. That Name sends a ripple through the gates of hell. Do you know what happened to this woman? The power of God fell in that service so strongly, she even forgot she was used to walking with a cane. She walked away from her cane and got halfway to where I was standing when she put her hand over her mouth. She couldnt even believe she was walking! Jesus Christ is the Healer! The power of God fell onto her paralyzed body and she got up and walked! When she realized what was happening, she said, Somebody bring my walker! I said, Oh no, sister! I asked one of the guys on my team to run, get her cane, and bring it to me. He did and I said to her, Do you want that? Come and get it! She walked by the power of God. In that same service, the sound man who worked at that church was working at a chemical plant. A heavy metal gate fell on him and crushed some of the bones in his back. It had him pinned overnight; they did not find him until the next morning. He should have died. They took him to the emergency room. The doctors had to fuse his back at three levels in the spine; they had to fuse it together with pins and screws. They told him he

would never be normal again. That is what the doctors said, not The Doctor. The mans left knee was destroyed. He never was supposed to be able to bend his left knee again. He was supposed to walk with his leg straight because he coul dnt bend it. He could not bend all the way down and touch his toes, either, because he had metal in his back. He was scheduled for another surgery in August, and we were there in June. Tell someone, Jesus is an on-time God! He was scheduled for another surgery, but the healing power of God fell in that service that night. All of a sudden, I looked at that sound man. He took that left leg that wasnt ever supposed to bend again and started stomping his foot on the ground! I believe he was stomping on the devil. Yes, Lord! Jesus Christ is the Healer! He is the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. He has never failed a case, and He never will! He will never fail you or let you down. Metal was in his back; he was on disability. It was impossible for him to ever bend again. All of a sudden, that brother started bending down and going crazy! He started jumping up and down and he ran around the church. That was the first time he had done that since 1997! When Jesus shows up, a whole lot of things change. Did he go into surgery? The people from the church called me and told me the surgery was cancelled. Yes, Lord! That is the God I serve! Do you think we just do all this to be cute? We mean business with God. There was a lady in that same service that had arthritis for a long time. She used to work in the same building where we had the service. She said it used to take her a long time to climb the stairs. She was totally healed in that service and she ran for the first time in about seven years. There was another lady who was a nurse. She had a lump in her breast. We prayed for her and I said, Sister, go to the bathroom and check. She came back and testified, Its gone! We went into another ladys house in the Bahama s. We were passing out posters, inviting people to come to our Crusade. Her daughter saw us in a supermarket downtown because we went into Winn Dixie to pass out flyers. We could do that because we were in a different country. Her daughter said, Would you go and pray for my mother? I said, Tell me where she lives! She told us, and I said, You tell your mama that Friday, at 3:00, we will be there. See, I dont talk like that because I think Im anything. The Apostle Paul said, I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me (Gal. 2:20). I am full of Jesus. He owns every part of me. So I said, Well be there Friday at three. We showed up, and it was Gods time! This is Gods time. Devil, you had yo ur time. Youve messed me up long enough. It is Gods time! This woman was

paralyzed; her left side was dead. I took a pin and I stuck her gently in her left side; she could not feel anything. She had suffered with a stroke in November of the previous year and the left side of her body was paralyzed. It was the work of the devil. But she told us her dream. She said, Last night, I dreamed that three missionaries came to my house. They prayed for me and I got up and walked! I looked at the two guys who were with me and I said, Theres gonna be a miracle in this place today! God is in control. There is power in the Name of Jesus. We laid hands on that woman and prayed for her. I said, Sister, can you feel anything now? She said, No. I said, Well, let me tell you something. I felt the power of God go into your body. You might not be healed now, but somethings going to happen soon. How soon, I dont know, but I felt the power of God go into you. I said, Can I witness to your daughter? Her daughter was about 26 or 28. I started preaching to her about giving her heart to Jesus. In about four or five minutes, her mother moved her arm and she said, I felt something! This was her left arm that was totally dead. I said, You felt something? I even forgot I was preaching to somebody! Were talking about miracles now; I want to see this! I looked at her and the Spirit of God came on me. The Holy Ghost showed up. When the Holy Ghost shows up, that is bad news for the devil. The Holy Ghost said, I am healing her entire left side. Take this womans walking cane from her and tell her to walk. I said, Sister, God is healing you. Walk. She held that cane up and she walked . She walked! All of her feeling was restored in her left side. Jesus Christ is the Healer! I dont care what the doctors say; Jesus is in control.
