Daily Activitivies Lesson 1
A) Read the stories below and circle all the simple present words you can find. Also, underline all the daily routines you see in each story.
Hanna, 50 years old. She wakes up every morning at 5am to make breakfast for her 3 children. Hanna then gets ready: brushes her hair, gets dressed, puts on make-up. At 8am she drives to work which is one hour away from her house. When shes finished work, she heads back home at 6pm. When she arrives home, dinner is always ready. She eats and relaxes with her husband and children until its 8pm, which she puts her children to sleep, and then goes to bed.

John, 10 years old. He is a very hyper kid. John is woken up everyday by his mom at 6am for him to get ready: take a shower, brush his teeth, get dressed and comb his hair. He eats breakfast and plays some playstation before the school bus arrives. When the bus arrives usually at 8am, John runs to the bus to get there first before his little sister. He then arrives home at 3pm, he usually takes his shoes off and goes watch an hour of television allowed by his parents. Once the hour passes he does his homework, he has dinner with his family and goes to bed.

In the first section (A), the students will see two conversations
from two completely different people, about the daily routines of their days. They must read the stories below and circle all the simple present words they can find. Also, underline all the daily routines they see in each story.

In the second section (B), the students will see a three sentences.
They must organize in the correct order each one of the following words to make a sentence using the present simple.

In the third section (C), the students will see a fill the lines activity where they will have to write a sentence using present simple and the words used in the Reading above.

Objective:

Students will be able to identify the present simple. Students will be able to apply this present simple in written form. Students will be able to associate the vocabulary to their real lives.

In the first section (Wh-Questions), first there is a chart were it


will include information related about general knowledge of whquestions. Then the students must go around the room and ask their classmates friends a question with what, where and who. When they are finished they must share the information with other classmates. Then in pair work, they must answer the following questions : what do you do after school? Where do you like to play ball? Who is your favorite hero ? And why?

In the second section (Conversation Task), the students must


read the conversation before writing anything, then the teacher will play the tape #1 (Daily Activities: Lesson 1, Page 2, Activity B). The students must fill in the blanks according to what they hear. The teacher might repeat the recording more than once if necessary.

Objective:

Students will be able to identify the present simple. Students will be able to apply this present simple in written form. Students will be able to associate the vocabulary to their real lives.

UNIT 6
Telling Time Teachers Book

In this section students will see two graphs, the teacher must ask the students what they see. Once the students answer, the teacher plays the tape #2 (Telling Time: Lesson 2, Page 3, Activity A). After this, the students must complete two sections.

In the first section (A), the students will have to play close attention to the pictures of the clocks, which show different times and they will have to write down the times they see in each clock. They must remember their previous gramatical structures to answer.

In the second section (B), the students divide in pairs, they must place the time in the clock using different colors. When they are done they must ask other students about what time do they do their, homework, eat or play and draw it on the clock drawn on the right.
Objective:

Students will be able to identify the different telling the time vocabulary. Students will be able to apply the time in written form. Students will be able to associate the vocabulary to their real lives.

UNIT 6
Telling Time Teachers Book

In this last section, the teacher plays the tape #3 (Telling Time: Lesson 2, Page 4), the students will hear the song first without looking at the lyrics and then students will be presented with the lyrics of the song Time for Time. The students must sing along. After they have listened and sung the song, the must underline the present simples words they find as well as circle all the daily routine vocabulary.
Objective:

Students will be able to identify the different telling the time vocabulary. Students will be able to apply the time in written form. Students will be able to associate the vocabulary to their real lives. Students will practice the present simple as well as daily routines.
