WofE 2 MAP
Integra al mapa WofE1 la abundancia de xido frrico y se adiciona una clase ms en prospectividad. Este mapa de prospectividad puede ser considerado como un muy buen modelo emprico.
White Mica > prox. visible halo > phengite White Mica > distal cryptic (deuteric alt.) > illite (muscovite)
Visible chlorite alteration zones are either developed asymmetrically, on one side of the mineralised vein or are apparently unrelated to mineralised veins
* This survey was performed using a TerraSpec Portable Vis/NIR instrument by Scott Halley of Mineral Mapping Limited
The presence of illite in deuteric alteration beyond zones of visible white mica alteration suggests a more proximal environment compared to deuteric alteration zones characterised by muscovite.
Average and range of selected elements from 8 whole rock geochemical samples of granodiorite from the Pataz district
10. CONCLUSIONS
At the Regional Scale, Aster imagery identifies areas of hidrothermal alteration dominated by illite (argillic alteration). A large area of argillic alteration extending for tens of kilometres nor norwest of Vijus is inmediately evident in the Aster image. Quartz-carbonate-sulfides veins with content of gold were identified at Santa Filomena project. At the district scale, stress mapping using the Pataz district geological map and an ENE-WSW shortening direction predicts the location of 44% of the known veins within 10% of the model area. At the deposit scale, phyllosilicate mineralogy determined by ASD mineral spectroscopy shows that the visible proximal white mica alteration around mineralised veins is phengitic. Spectral analysis of white micas in deuteric alteration beyond the proximal phengitic white mica zones can be used to detect illite- and muscovite- dominant zones and used as a vector towards gold-bearing veins. At the lode scale, the (Rb+Cs/Th)N ratio is elevated above background values for up to 15 metres beyond zones of visible white mica alteration and anomalous gold (>5ppb)
