November 11th, 2013 To: Whom It May Concern From: Dave Adams Principal at Alruwad International School in Muscat,

Oman Re: Jessica Dovichak It has been my distinct pleasure to have worked with Jessica Dovichak as her Principal here in the beautiful city of Muscat, Oman. Alruwad International School is a brand new school that opened here on September 1st, 2013 with 434 students enrolled in Kindergarten to Grade Four. Alruwad International School is the rst Alberta curriculum (preaccredited stage) school to be opened in the country of Oman and we did receive an A+ rating (182 points out of 200) from the Oman Ministry of Education. Jessica had an outstanding teaching experience here for a number of reasons. First of all, she exhibited an amazing amount of both exibility and adaptability here at the school. In her time here with us, we started the school year with almost no resources or textbooks! Despite all the challenges that would come with this lack of materials she not only taught the classes but taught the classes well. She never complained about these issues, and the success of the school can be directly attributed to her contributions in these areas.

Jessica has a warm personality that allowed her to create positive relationships with all members of our learning community, The students instantly liked her because she likes children. She was a valuable contributor to our sta! meetings and mentorship groups in the school. She also got along quite well with our parents and there was never an issue or complaint about her in the entire time spent here at the school. Jessica understands the importance of planning to be successful in teaching. She skillfully created daily, weekly, and long range plans for all the classes that she taught. She has a good grasp of the Alberta curriculum and was able to adapt her lessons to the abilities of the students here in Oman. Our school population is 91% Omani so most of the students have English as their second language creating new challenges for all. She successfully built key vocabulary words into her classes which the students quickly learned thus building a means of communicating and teaching rapidly in her classes. Jessica understands the importance of life long learning, and demonstrated this by coming here to Oman to help open the new school. She met head on the challenges of living in a foreign country as well as the issues associated with a brand new school. For example, she created most of her own materials to start the school year when no resources were available here at the school. Jessica demonstrated good classroom management in her teaching round here, She used a variety of strategies to build a positive and safe learning environment in her classes. She quickly earned the names of all of her students despite the fact that most of the names were Arabic. The classroom was a safe, happy, and positive learning environment for all on a daily basis. The learning community was supported by Jessica in her e!orts to keep us together as a family at the school. Despite being a United Nations of teaching with a sta! from over a dozen countries, she created friendships with all and helped us build our culture of support together collectively. She was also willing to volunteer her time to contribute to the cocurricular programs that further developed her relationship with others. Jessica did also meet all of her Supervision responsibilities which were daily after school with the important duty of making sure the students

were properly picked up. During this time she was always talking and having fun with the students so it was not viewed as a chore by any as she built relationships at this time. We will miss Jessica here at Alruwad International School and we wish her all the best in her promising educational career ahead of her. As an person with 30 years in public education and over 15 years in administration, she would come with my highest recommendation and endorsement. She would be a valuable addition to any school that was fortunate enough to hire her. Respectfully, Dave Adams Principal-Alruwad International School Muscat, Oman Muscat Phone Number: 968-2455-4711
