Strange Fire

1.According to the Bible, what is this Strange Fire? Leviticus 10:1 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the Lord, which he __ __________ ______ _______. NOTE: Here we see the term strange fire mentioned, and it is mentioned in the context of worshipping God. But, the worship that is offered is condemned by God, because it is done in such a way that it goes contrary to what He has ordained as true worship. Could this same religious ideology be carried out today? Worshipping God in a blasphemous way? 2.What did Jesus say was one of the biggest signs of His return? Matthew 24:3, And as he sat upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, tell us, when shall

these things be? And what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no _____ ______ ______ NOTE: So what is the greatest problem at the end of time? Deception. Deception is the greatest problem and how deceptive will Satan be? So deceptive, says the Bible, that even the elect can be deceived. Thats pretty deceptive. This is a major problem. 3.What is the purpose of God in giving the Holy Spirit to His people? Acts 1:8, But you shall receive _____ after the Holy Ghost is come upon you NOTE: This power, this Spirit, was meant to equip the people to take the gospel to the world. In other words, this power was meant to serve others and not self. 4.What is the divine prerequisite for receiving the Holy Spirit? John 14:15-17, If you love me, keep my commandments. ____ __ ____ pray the Father and He shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth Acts 5:32, And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that ____ him. NOTE: In other words it seems as if the prerequisite to receiving this Spirit of God is a spirit of obedience. And a spirit of obedience implies a spirit of repentance, because were all disobedient to God and need to come in line with Gods requirements once

again. We need to understand that it is God who cleanses us from all unrighteousness. We need to understand that it is Jesus who gives us life eternal. And we need to develop a spirit of gratefulness which will induce us to keep his commandments, whereby he will empower us to preach his truth to others. 5.What should the gospel be centered on? John 3:16, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in ____ should not perish, but have everlasting life. NOTE: Can you see the centrality of the gospel? The gospel is to be Christ centered. It must be Christ centered and not self-centered. It means submission to Christ, not submission to self. 6.What does the Holy Spirit do in relation to humanity? John 16:8, And when he (the Holy Spirit) is come he will convict the world of ____, and of ______, and of ________ NOTE: In other words, if you truly receive the Spirit of God, it will lead you to trust only in Jesus Christ and upon His merits. Because you will realize that you are bankrupt, you have no right to anything because we are all transgressors of Gods requirements. Therefore, it is only by the merits of Jesus that we can be saved. And the Holy Spirit will convict us of our need for Jesus. John 14:26, But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you __ __ _____, and bring all things to your _________, whatsoever __ ____ _____ unto you.

NOTE: The Holy Spirit also serves as an educator. In fact, the Holy Spirit can teach you more in a single moment, than the most renowned educator can teach you in a lifetime. The Holy Spirit also brings back to remembrance the Word of God, but in order for Him to bring it back, we must first put it into our minds so He can bring it back. 7.Who is the father of the Mega-church movement, and who are his disciples? ANSWER: The man who started the mega church concept was none other than Robert Schuller. Robert Schuller, according to most sources out there in the world, books, to webpages, is a 33rd Degree Freemason, Pastor of the Crystal Cathedral and host of the popular Hour of Power television program. Robert Schuller: I was the first person to introduce real church growth to the American Church. He [Hybels] became the first guy to take these principles, refine them, maximize them to the ultimate length of their potential. I am so proud of him I think of him as a son. I think of him as one of the greatest things to happen in Christianity in our time. Bill Hybels is doing the best job of anybody I know! NOTE: So, Bill Hybels learned at the feet of Robert Schuller. If you heard the last presentation, then that is quite unnerving. 8.What about Rick Warren? ANSWER: Hes the pastor of the 14,000-member Saddleback Valley Community Church in Orange County, and he writes in his book, The Purpose Driven Church, which is being used as a manual of course, in many circles. He has the principle of pragmatism. He says pastors need to learn to recognize a wave of Gods Spirit and ride it. If you see that somethings

happening, then do it. Or, catch a spiritual wave of growth if it works, it must be right! He encourages young pastors to leave behind old fashioned church music in favor of jazz or rock or whatever turns your people on! He encourages churches to imitate the culture and dress down for church... Warren goes on to say: Never criticize what God is blessing, even though it may be a style of ministry that makes you uncomfortable. Figure out what mood you want your service to project, and then create it. The Purpose Driven Church pg. 264 We made a strategic decision to stop singing hymns in our seeker services. We have attracted thousands more because of our music. Saddleback now has a complete pop/rock orchestra. Use more performed music than congregational singing. The ground we have in common with unbelievers is not the Bible, but our common needs, hurts, and interests as human beings. You cannot start with a text. The Purpose Driven Church You must match your music to the kind of people God wants in your church. The music you use positions your church in your community It will determine the kind of people you attract, the kind of people you keep, and the kind of people you lose. If you were to tell me the kind of music you are currently using in your services, I could describe the kind of people you are reaching without even visiting your church. I could also tell you the kind of people your church will never reach. The Purpose Driven Church, pg. 280-281. NOTE: There is absolutely nothing wrong with worshipping God in song. It is Biblical, and a blessing to the believer. However, if that worship is somehow perverted it destroys the very reason why we worship Him.

9.Is Music amoral, (neutral in the terms or its morality?) ANSWER: Howard Hanson, famous composer and former head of the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, said: Music is made up of many ingredients and, according to the proportion of these components, it can be soothing or invigorating, ennobling or vulgarizing, philosophical or orgiastic. It has power for evil as well as good. NOTE: Its not neutral. Many people today say the words are the only thing that matter, but if you think about that argument logically it does not hold water. Lets take for example the motion picture, the movie industry. When a romantic scene is amount to take place the music, many times is without words, that is to say, instrumental music. The very same holds true to the opposite end of the spectrum, lets say a suspenseful scene is amount to take place again, the mood of the music will suit a suspenseful scene, and it will also be for the most part without words, but in both scenario, there is a definite mood created with music with no lyrics. So, music cannot be amoral, the words are only secondary. Rock star Jimi Hendrix states the same view most emphatically: You can hypnotize people with music and when they get at their weakest point you can preach into their subconscious minds what you want to say. In their thought-provoking book, Music in the Balance, Frank Garlock and Kurt Woetzel acknowledge that A large segment of the Christian community has enthusiastically embraced this music of the world, the associated antics, and the philosophy. All three have been implanted into the life of the church. Not only have many Christians accepted the music as suitable for praise and worship, but an atmosphere pervades the contemporary Christian concerts not unlike the early concerts of the Elvis era.

Wolfgang Stefani says: Could it be that by fostering a homogenized global music style a style that is increasingly visible in the Christian music culture the stage is set for a global, religious identity response? Is the music going to bring us all together? NOTE: Is it possible as just as it was in the time Daniel, that music would be a catalyst to foster world unity? Daniel 3:10, Thou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the cornet, flue, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, shall fall down and worship the golden image. 10.What do the Charismatic Preachers teach regarding Jesus? Kenneth Copeland: He [Jesus] is suffering all that there is to suffer. There is no suffering left apart from Him. His emaciated, poured out, little, wormy spirit is down in the bottom of that thing [hell]. And the Devil thinks hes got Him destroyed. Believers Voice of Victory Program. Kenneth Copeland: You dont have a god in you, you are one. Kenneth Copeland: The Spirit of God spoke to me and He said, Son, realize this. Now follow me in this and dont let your tradition trip you up. He said, Think this way a twice-born man whipped Satan, in his own domain. And I threw my Bible down like that. I said, What? He said, A born-again man defeated Satan, the firstborn of many brethren defeated him. He said, You are the very image, the very copy of that one. I said, Goodness, gracious sakes alive! And I began to see what had gone on in there, and I said, Well now you dont mean, you couldnt dare mean, that I could have done the same thing? He said, Oh yeah, God said this apparently, Oh

yeah. If youd had the knowledge of the Word of God that He did, you could have done the same thing, cause youre a reborn man too. Kenneth Copeland: And I say this with all respect, so that it dont upset you too bad. But I say it anyway: When I read in the Bible where He says, I AM, I just smile and say, Yes, I AM, too. NOTE: The same doctrine that Robert Schuller espoused is the exact same as Kenneth Copeland teaches. Benny Hinn: Dont tell me you have Jesus. You are everything He was and everything He is and ever shall be Dont say, I have. Say, I AM, I AM, I AM, I AM, I AM. 11.What did Jesus say would happen in the future? Matthew 7:15, Beware of false prophets, which come to you in _____clothing, but inwardly they are ravening _________.

MY DECISION FOR JESUS What we do without the words of Jesus? Where could we put our trust? I take great comfort in knowing that Jesus told us a long, long time ago that these things we have seen and heard would take place. Are you willing to put your trust in Him? Yes or No
