High school students have the opportunity to become preIvey students for the first two years of study which will help them gain acceptance to the school in year three. AEO 1, 2 3 . This application is separate from the application to Western Requirements: 90%+ average out of high school 90 Strong extra-curricular involvement (school clubs, hobbies, sports, jobs, etc.) Completion of a grade 12 U-level math course 12

AEO Students must meet progression requirements to maintain their status for advanced entry into Ivey Business School AEO . Progression Requirements:

Be enrolled in Western, full-time (full course load of 5.0 credits) for years 1 and 2 ( 1, 2 .) Achieve an overall average of 80% between years 1 and 2 in any program with no failed courses (1, 2 80 F ) Enroll in a major in year 2 and take at least 2.0 credits of necessary courses for that major (2 2.0 .) Take Business 2257 in year 2 and obtain 70%+ in the course (2 2257 70 .) Take only 2nd year courses in year 2 (2 2 .) If not completed in high school take the equivalent of grade 12 U math (1st year calculus) ( 12 .) Continue extra-curricular involvements ( .) Complete an update report in year 1 outlining extra-curriculars Participate in an online video interview ( .)

With strong extra-curricular activities admission will be granted 2nd round one week later 2 ( ). Without strong extra-curriculars or a lower average may lose AEO status and may be rejected AEO .

You do not have to be AEO to apply to the HBA Program but must still complete the same progression requirements AEO .

You

can attend another university for your first two years then transfer to Ivey for years 3 and 4. 1, 2 . You should meet the same requirements as a Western student but may take an approved equivalent to the course Business 2257
2257 .

There are no specific majors in Ivey, though you can take courses in 4th year geared towards a certain career All 3rd year courses are mandatory and your schedule is made for you 3 . You are placed in a section with 75 other students who you spend every class with, every day 75 . Ivey uses the case study method you read about a situation with certain information and must make a decision based off your analysis - .

Reports are done in assigned groups with a time limit of 24-48 hours 24-48 Exams are hand-written, open book and 4 hours long 4 Contribution is graded based on quality of class participation (key insights, good questions, adding to discussion, etc.) The Ivey Learning Experience uses cases to analyze the business issues managers face every day - not fictitious scenarios but actual realworld problems (

Ivey's main campus is affiliated with Western University and is located on the Western campus in London, Ontario. Ivey has opened up their brand new Ivey Building and as moved its program to a state-of-the-art building that provides students with a great atmosphere in which to learn. There are many breakout rooms where small groups can study with access to a flat screen TV to hook computers up to and whiteboards on the walls and table surface for brainstorming TV . Past employers of Computer Science interns have included IBM, RIM, Honeywell, 3M Canada, Bell Canada, various gaming companies such as Bing Blue Bubble in London, etc.

is an Internship?

An Internship is normally taken between the third and fourth years of a students studies Participation in the program is optional, but has proven to be popular with our students and with potential employers.

You will get hands-on work experience You will get to work with professionals in the field You will get to try out a career choice to see if you like it You will have an inside track on future employment with the company you worked for You will get a full year course credit toward your degree You will get paid very well. The average annual salary for Computer Science interns is typically more than $40,000

There are about 200 clubs at Western They range from community involvement, raising awareness, academic, sports, hobbies and cultural awareness DECA, Breakdancing, Autism Western, Heart and Stroke, Korean Students Association, Western Radio, Alzheimers Western Club etc. Sign up for clubs during Clubs Week (2nd week) Getting involved is a great way to make new friends and help the community

Recreation center on campus is the largest in Canada Varsity: Soccer, baseball, basketball, hockey, badminton, curling, fencing, wrestling, swimming and many more Intramural tournaments: you can make your own teams and play intramural sports in various categories (mens, womens, recreational and competitive) KSA has a mens soccer team that competes in intramurals and various tournaments (2nd place in Western Cup last year)
