1. Connect hardware lock (programmed for EWS) on the USB port.

2. Connect the network cable from Network Port-A of EWS to Switch A and Network Port-B of EWS to Switch-B. Connect Net-A of Primary DPU to Switch-A and Net-B of Primary DPU to Switch-B (Network Port-A of EWS will have IP address defined as 172.16.160.xx in TCP/IP properties under Network Properties for that connection & Network Port-B of EWS will have IP address defined as 172.17.160.xx). For changing this address, administrator account login is required (password-hmi). 3. Ensure that the backup cable between the Primary DPU and Secondary DPU is connected to the respective RJ45 jacks, if not connect the same. Take care not to make this connection at the Serial port. 4. On the primary DPU front plate, keep the Mode switch in position C. 5. Power up the EWS, login as Engineer (password-engineer) and check that the maxSTATION startup box come up on the screen along with comments inside the box (ending with the line maxSTATION startup completed). Ensure that in the C:/Custom/Database area the DPUList.Ini file contains the DPU names. Typical and addresses as shown in the box below.

6. Power-up the EHG panel racks. 7. On the EWS execute the DPU4F Setup utility. The box as shown below will appear. Enter the DPU

name and ensure that the 'Mode C DPU' box is ticked. Click on the 'Read DPU Via Net' icon. This will read and display the IP address existing on the DPU flash memory as earlier programmed. If required change the IP address and DPU name as indicated in next point.

8. Make the entries of Station name, IP address and other selections as shown in the box above for Primary DPU and click on Write DPU Via Net. Observe in the box that the process of flashing is going on and finally completed. 9. Remove the cable connected to the Network A of the Primary DPU and shift it to the Network A port of the Secondary DPU. 10. In the DPU4F setup window, enter the data as shown in box below and click on Write DPU via Net .

Observe in the box that the process of flashing is going on and finally completed. This completes the IP address configuration of the DPUs. 11. Now connect the Net-A cable from Switch-A to the Net-A port of Primary & Secondary DPUs and the Net-B cable from Switch-B to the Net-B port of Primary & Secondary DPUs. Put the mode switch of both the DPUs to B position and restart the DPUs (Power ON/Off) 12. After the DPUs have booted up check that the network A & B LEDs on primary and secondary DPUs are steady Green and the Backup LED on both DPUs is steady Green. Also check that the Active LED of Primary DPU is blinking green/Yellow and the Active LED of the Secondary is blinking Yellow/dark.

13. If this is not so, check the network cables and backup connections and restart the maxSTATION as well as the DPUs once again and observe the indications as mentioned above. 14. Now proceed with Configuration file (*.4F) downloading using the maxDPUTools package as follows: Double click on the maxDPUTools icon on the desktop, select and open the desired file for downloading. The screen will appear as shown in the box below.

15. Right click on the EHG1 (the DPU name) text portion and select Full Download option. In the box which comes up enter 172.16.1.30 against Primary address. If the communication is OK with the DPU and if the Address configuration has been successfully flashed into the DPU (as per the steps given earlier) then the DOWNLOAD option is enabled. Now click on that button to proceed with downloading. After successful completion, without exiting from the Download box, select Enable Backup. This will start the process of transferring the configuration from Primary to secondary DPU. 16. After Full Download the outputs of the DPU are frozen and not passed on to the Output modules , all of whose Active LEDs on module front plates will be blinking. Before Unfreezing the output s,

ensure that Security level is 9 (Select Start/programs/maxDNA/utilities/SetSecurity.Exe and click on the button with number 9. Enter the password max9 in the box which has popped up and press Enter key). Next, in the Download box itself click on the Freeze button and in the page which opens up first click on select all and then on Unfreeze. The output module front plate Active LED will become steady green. Check also that all the input module Active LEDs are steady green indicating that the DPU software is loaded and active. Once this is done, exit from the download box. With this the configuration download process is complete. 17. Put the mode switch on both the DPUs to position F .It should not be allowed to remain in position B in which case, when the DPUs are reset any time in the future, the loaded configuration will be blanked out. 18. To proceed with the testing, double click on maxVUE Runtime icon on the desktop which will bring up the operating screens.
