The MPRT is recognized for its versatility, impressive power capability and rugged design. It incorporates the latest in digital signal processor (DSP) based technology, giving it smarter features such as:

What makes the Megger MPRT8445 smarter? The Power Box, the STVI and AVTS software The Power Box - its up to 25% lighter than its predecessors with unmatched versatility. Constant power output is sustained through the entire power curve of a test. With a CPO of 30 amps at 200 VA (up to 45 amps at 300 VA short time) and 300 volts at 150 VA, the MPRT8445 will test virtually any protective relay. A unique modular design combines the VIGEN mosules into one amplier package. By using multiple VIGENs, the system can deliver up to four voltages and four currents (or with convertible voltage channels) eight currents. Modular components also allow you to order the system to t your precise testing requirements and budget with an easy, exible, upgradable path. The MPRT8445 has up to four VIGEN modules providing complete threephase testing of three-phase impedance, directional power, negative sequence overcurrent and the other devices that require a three-phase fourwire source. And, with open 3rd party communication architecture, you can choose the software you want to use. An optional transducer testing capability eliminates the need for additional testing equipment or software. With the transducer feature enabled, the STVI software provides automatic testing of AC/DC voltage, AC/DC current, frequency, power factor, VA and watt/VAR transducers. Two ethernet ports provide STVI or PC control and facilitate automatic upgrades. The USB 2.0 interface port provides another option of using a PC for automated control of the MPRT8445 and, at the same time, provides secure isolation when testing IEC 61850 devices (if required).

Weight reduction of up to 25%nobody wants to carry around extra weight if they dont have to. Less weight, more power, very smart. Advanced Visual Test Software

AVTS represents over 29 years of Meggers experience with automatic relay testing. AVTS is designed to manage all aspects of relay testing using the new SMRT and MPRT units. From normal maintenance steady-state to fully automatic One-Touch tests, end-to-end dynamic or DFR playback tests, or IEC61850 testing, AVTS provides a wide range of test capabilities. The new AVTS 4.2 software now includes hundreds of ready to run relay test modules, including dozens of One-Touch test modules for General Electric-type UR and SEL relays. One-Touch test modules automatically download settings from the relays and provide fully automated testing of the relays. Megger also offers extended software support where users get access to the Megger AVTS User Forum. Here customers can download or upload relay test modules, query the technical support group or converse with other users for help in the general discussion section. The AVTS Forum also has an extensive library of application guides, tutorial power points and videos that are also available to download. With PowerDB Advanced (which runs the STVI software) bundled with AVTS Basic, provided with every unit, customers will certainly realize the added benets of the software when compared to the competition, making Megger products Megger Smart. AVTS Advanced This software version includes all the features found in Basic, plus these additional capabilities: Test Editor This powerful tool eliminates the writing or editing of test macros. Instead, using a series of icons and wizards, test functions are dened and then automatically assembled and connected for you. You can also use a special connections editor, which provides a graphical display of each connection between the MPRT and the relay being tested. New Dynamic Control This new feature streamlines the process of setting up multi-state, dynamic tests that are usually associated with trip and reclosing schemes. Using the dynamic control function you can also build harmonic waveforms with frequencies up to 1000 Hz. Then, use the recorder feature to measure and graphically display the output analog waveforms for easier test result analysis. New Recorder Capability In conjunction with dynamic control, a built-in recorder allows you to view and evaluate the actual output voltage and current waveforms, as well as any selected binary inputs and or binary output contacts, without requiring any expensive optional software/hardware, external transducers or shunts. Use this feature to perform multi-shot reclosing tests, or to record sequence of events for multi-state sequence testing of relays and relay protection schemes. You can also capture the complex waveforms that were applied using the new wave index feature. New Modbus Communications This time saving new feature allows you to communicate directly with particular relays using the Modbus protocol. Now you can automatically download relay settings from a relay (using either VB script or Modbus), into the AVTS relay settings screen. Using Modbus communications you can monitor a relays protection or metering elements, eliminating the need to read meter values and manually input them into a result screen. New SSI File Converter SSI Files are generated using power system simulation programs from Electrocon CAPETM or ASPEN One-liner. Now these can be easily imported as part of a standard, dynamic or even more complex relay test. AVTS Advanced also incorporates specialized features for effective end-toend relay testing and a unique one-touch test (which uses Visual Basic script control and the group execute feature in AVTS, to automatically test the relay to actual settings with one touch of the mouse).
