What you will require to do this walkthrough is 1. # Windows 98 CD 2. # Co$%&ter wit' CD- !M access To start this Windows install. First check that the first boot device in your system BI ! is set to the "#$% & #rive. ( To find o&t 'ow to access t'e BI!S %lease refer to )o&r $ot'er*oard $an&al or t'e $an&fact&rer of )o&r co$%&ter+ (T'e s)ste$ *ios can &s&all) *e entered on *oot, &s&all) *) %ressin- t'e ./, .0, .8, ./1 or DE2 ke)+ Make s&re )o& save t'e settin-s *efore e3itin-44 If you are unsure or don't want to enter the BI ! then (ust test the com)uter by )utting the "#$% & in the drive and rebooting the com)uter. This is the recommended way to install windows. *ou will know that your com)uter will+has booted of "#$% & when the following screen a))ears.

*our "#$% & driver will now install1 be )atient this may take a few moments.

2ow )ress 3nter to continue1 or F4 to e0it.

!etu) will now )erform checks on your system1 )ress 3nter to continue.

2e0t !candisk will run1 let this com)lete or setu).

2ow setu) will co)y im)ortant files for the install.

!etu) has now begun1 the mouse should now be active1 )ress "ontinue to )roceed. If you have a change of mind then )ress 30it !etu). If the mouse is not active )ress 532T3%5 on the keyboard.

The wi6ard will now start. Be )atient this may take a few moments.

2ow select the directory you wish to install Windows into. By default "78Windows will be selected. *ou can change this1 but it is not advised. "lick on 2e0t to "ontinue.

!etu) will now )re)are the directory1 be )atient this may take a moment.

!etu) now checks disk s)ace.

What do you wish to install. We recommend Ty)ical1 which is the default. !o click 2e0t to continue.

Windows "om)onents to be installed will now be listed. 9eave at default and )ress 2e0t.

If a 2etwork card has been detected the following will a))ear. Fill in the details and click 2e0t.

2ow your country settings1 select as needed and then )ress 2e0t.

Windows will now co)y files1 this will take sometime. Be )atient

:fter sometime you will be )rom)ted to restart1 Windows will do it itself1 you can click on %estart 2ow to quicken the )rocess.

Booting for first time screen will a))ear.

2ow enter your name1 com)any is o)tional. "lick on 2e0t to continue.

2ow the 9icense :greement. %ead and if you agree click on 5I acce)t the :greement5 and click ne0t. If you select 55I don't acce)t the :greement5 then setu) will end.

2ow in)ut your )roduct key or certificate authenticity code. This is 1< digits and is located on the back of your "# case or on the Windows ,- Book. If you have an 3& com)uter then it could be on the side or back of your com)uter. "lick ne0t to continue.

2e0t click on Finish.

nce selected click on a))ly and then @.

Windows will continue to setu) Windows items.

The com)uter will now need restarted again.
