Augustine Church, Barberton, OH) (November 3, 2013) Thirty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time Sunday, 3 November 2013: Luke 19:1-10 The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and great in kindness (Psalm 145) Share an experience when you recognized Jesus sought you out. What was your response? Joy? How often do you share your experience of Jesus love with your loved ones? Especially those that you know are in most need of his love and mercy. What would be your response to Jesus visiting your home? Would you invite your friends, and co-workers?

318 Holy Hours were kept with Our Lord in Eucharistic Adoration last week. Did you know that most adorers make 3,4,5 Holy Hours a week to cover needed hours? The Holy Hour program needs new adorers to continue perpetual adoration. If you would like to try just one hour, please give Judy Soltis a call at 330-212-0926. (Insert Graphic 1800-0005.tif) Young at Heart Seniors will meet Monday, November 4, 1:00 pm, at Prince of Peace. A Haunting Experience will be presented by Alan from the Barberton Library. Come and enjoy a great program with friends, refreshments will be provided. Join us as we journey together through Catholicism, Thursday, November 7 when we discover Indispensable Men: Peter, Paul & the Missionary Adventure. Registration forms can be found on the bookrack in the back of the church, sessions will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, Kenmore in Waldesien Hall from 6:30-9:00pm. Enjoy a meal at 6:00pm followed by the session. All are welcome to attend. Cards Anyone? Join us Friday, November 8 as we play Euchre. Cards begin at 6:30pm in the school cafeteria. A light meal will be provided. Beginners and experienced players are welcome to come and try a hand. Come and enjoy an evening of fellowship and fun!

Anyone in need of physical, mental or spiritual healing is welcome to attend. You do not have to be catholic to receive this special blessing. Please spread the news!

The next ST. AUGUSTINE WOMEN OF FAITH meetings are scheduled for 10-11:30 am and 6:30-8:30 pm on Tuesday, November 19. (Meetings are held in the Rectory and school cafeteria respectively.) Deacon Robin Adair will give a presentation on Ten Commandments for Daily Living. All women of the parish are invited to attend.

Attention Youth Group Members: Just a reminder the Jr. High Youth Group meets every Wednesday from 7-8:30pm in Room #101 in the School. All students grades 6-8 are welcome and encouraged to attend. The next High School Youth Group date will be November 17 from 6-8pm in Room #103 in the School. This is open to students grades 9-12, lets make this a fun, faith filled experience, bring friends they are always welcome. At this meeting we will be making fleece blankets for the Elizabeth Ministries. Anyone wishing to donate fleece to this project please provide two pieces of fleece, 1 yard each, per blanket. Donations can be dropped off at the rectory during regular business hours. Thank you in advance for helping us with this service project. Festivities will once again include the chili, hot chocolate and cookie booth on the Rectory lawn. We are looking for volunteers to help spread Christmas cheer to the community by donating baked goods and serving in the booth. If you are interested in helping, please contact Bernadette at 330-745-0011. This is a great opportunity for eighth grade students to earn service hours. (Insert Graphic 2107-0027.tif) Please join St. Augustine as we kick off the Christmas Season with the annual free concert that fills the church with music. The children of St. Augustine will begin at 7:00pm as they sing an assortment of Christmas Carols.

Refreshments will be served on the lawn following the concert; this is in conjunction with the Downtown Christmas Walk.
Attention Shoppers: St. Monicas Gift Shop is now open and ready to assist you in your shopping needs. Take a few moments to stop in and see the new merchandise offered. Who knows, maybe you will find the perfect gift for that special someone. The Gift Shop is open on Sunday between the 8:0010:30am Masses, closer to Christmas it will be open on Saturday before Mass. Holy Land Gifts will be at St. Augustine Church the weekend of November 16 & 17. There will be a good selection of hand carved items such as nativity scenes, crucifixes, rosaries, the last supper and much more. Please stop by following all the Masses that weekend. All items are available for purchase and make wonderful gifts for loved ones.

The American Red Cross will be at St. Augustine School in the SAC on Sunday, December 1 from 9:00am 1:00pm. Please consider giving blood, together we can make a difference. Next week our parish will take up a collection for the Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS). The guiding mission of the AMS is to provide the sacraments to the men and women serving in our armed forces, patients in VA Medical Centers, civilians working for the federal government beyond U.S. borders, and the families of these populations. To provide the services they need your help the AMS receives no federal funding. Please be generous! This Christmas Season, Women of Faith will be mailing Christmas Cards to parishioners in area nursing homes, and shut-ins. Anyone with additional cards that you will not be using this season can donate to this special cause. A gift bag will be placed in the vestibule of the church by the St. Monicas gift shop. The due date for the cards is November 19. Those attending the meeting on November 20 can bring your cards that day. Lector Workbooks are available for pick up in the sacristy.
