into steam and then disappearing& This was very dramatic2 with only a spoonful of water it 3uickly bubbled and .4$A//,A5,. before their eyes6 ,ven if the youngest children didn7t understand evaporation, they thought it was neat and wanted to do that part over and over6 FUNN" GAME: Win er S#ape Fi$#ing Ga%e! Tie 8 feet of string to a wooden spoon& Attach a magnet to the end of the string& Cut and laminate many different colored, and 'inter $hapes from construction paper (not too big though & Attach a paper clip to each 'inter $hape& $pread the 'inter $hapes on the floor and let your child try to catch the 'inter $hape& +ave them try to catch the star or the biggest tree& 1or a twist, label the 'inter $hapes with letters or numbers&
LESSON 2
Aim: to talk about weather and winter activities 'arming up: &AINTING: SN'W ART SALT! The teacher e-plains that they are going to make an e-periment in order to observe winter changements& $aturate hot water with salt& (et the water cool, and have the child use the salt water to paint on black paper& Then after it dries, let the child look at the crystals of salt on the paper& LANGUAGE GAME: Win er A( ivi ie$! The teacher asks the children what activities can be done in summer, but not in winter& Then, they discuss which activities can be done in winter outside or inside and the teacher mimes other activities to introduce some new words (see also vocabulary & They also decide where they can do these activities and they say which one(s they can do& 1or e-ample, I can go skating, but I cant go skiing. I need a hat. Aim: to consolidate and evaluate learning 4n this unit we make a consolidation of all the knoweledge taught that week though a contest& The children repeat the poem and the song& The children solve a handLout related to the topic& ,very afternoon they revise what they have learned in the morning& CRAFT: C#ri$ %a$ E+5 Cra5 !
