How can this quote seem both equal and unequal to women? And if you be apprehensive that you will not be able to do justice to the orphans, you may marry two or three or four women whom you choose. But if you apprehend that you might not be able to do justice to them, then marry only one wife. (Quran)

Why does Islam say two women and one man, rather than one woman and two men? Why can Muslim women only marry Muslim men? A Muslim man can marry a Christian or a Jewish woman (a woman who believes in One God), but a woman can only marry a Muslim man. And if there are not two men, then a man and two women from those whom you accept as witnesses - so that if one of the women errs, then the other can remind her.
