Thou pour out Thy Sacred Teachings which, more splendid that gold itself, enriches our impoverished mind and heart, O Blessed Chrysostom, Wise and Holy Father; and by them Thou drive out the bitter winter and the gloom brougth on by passions, indeed by avarice. And therefore we are obligated to extol Thee and call Thee Blessed, and we honour Thy Relics dust as a Source of Sanctity. Him with the sound of the trumpet! Praise Him with the harp and lyre. Today let us all extol that fiery column, that solid gold Sacred Mouth of Theology, that River with Mighty Streams of Orthodox Dogmas, Guarantor of sinners, that Godly Preacher who exhorts all to Repentance, Heavenly Intellect, who now lives in Heaven, and shines upon earth as a Radiant Luminary that Blessed John whom we honour as Chrysostom. Virgin: behold how my humble soul in the storm of temptations of life is tosed, with no one to pilot it, overtaken by turbulence; Thou see it overtburdened with baggage of all my sins, and even now, in danger of sinking to the depths of Hell. Hasten, O Theotokos, with Thy powerful Intercessions, and Save me by steering me to Thy Port of Tranqulity, that with Faith I may cry to Thee: Pray to Christ Thy Son and our God, that He may grant me forgiveness of offences.
