Safety Cap Prevents the coupon holder from complete retraction should the locking device loosen due to pipeline vibration. It also protects the insertion tool mounting threads.
Insertion Tool Mounting Threads Locking Device (patented) Holds the coupon at the desired monitoring zone within the pipeline. Design will hold with 7500 psi against it without marring the rod. Packing Gland Body Packing Gland Locking Bolt Allows for tightening the packing gland (HT Version). Bleeder Valve To bleed the pressure off the body once the isolation valve has been closed. Flanged Body (1/2 2 NPT Available) Mounting connection for the isolation valve on the pipeline. MOUNTING CONFIGURATIONS FOR THE ACCURATE TOOL COMPANYS (ATCO) INSERTABLE CORROSION COUPON HOLDERS, INJECTION ATOMIZERS, AND SAMPLER / QUILLS. Add H to A dimension for coupon holders.

Not Applicable

Add H to A dimension for coupon holders.

TO DETERMINE TOTAL ROD OR PROBE LENGTH: CORROSION COUPON HOLDERS: ADD 12 (MODELS MM15HT & MM50) to (A + H) DIMENSIONS (DO NOT SUBTRACT COUPON LENGTH)
ADD 8 (MODELS LP200HT, LP750HT, & M-1) to (A + H) DIMENSIONS (DO NOT SUBTRACT COUPON LENGTH)

ATOMIZERS, SAMPLERS / QUILLS: ADD 14 (MODELS MM-15HT & MM50) to A DIMENSION.

ADD 10 (MODELS LP200HT & LP750HT) to A DIMENSION.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE MODEL MM-15 & MODEL MM-50 COUPON HOLDERS AND INJECTION PROBES 1) Loosen the 5/8 rod / probe locking bolt and push the rod / probe through the end of the holder and attach coupon or atomizer nozzle. 2) Retract the probe or rod to just inside the bottom of the holder and tighten the 5/8 lock bolt. 3) Measure from the top face of the pipeline isolation valve (a full bore ball or gate valve) to the desired zone within the pipeline. 4) Transfer this measurement to the exposed rod / probe and mark with a permanent marker. For flat coupon holders, mark the rod adapter with the direction of flow against the narrow side of the coupon (Figure 2). 5) Attach the MM-15 or MM-50 to the process isolation valve (Figure 1). SHORTCUT (coupon holders only): Insert the coupon holder to the bottom of the pipe. Lightly touch
the coupon on the bottom then retract it approximately 1/4 (3/4 turn on the hand crank counter clockwise) and make a permanent mark on the rod at the top base of the holder (Figure 2).

6) Models MM-15HT and MM-50HT (with packing glands): a) Once the unit is firmly affixed to the isolation valve, and the bleeder valve is closed, slowly open the isolation valve to apply process pressure to the unit. b) *The graphoil packing will require tightening to stop leaks. Loosen the packing assembly lock bolt (1/4-20) and turn the body slowly clock wise until no leak is present. 7) Close isolation valve and attach insertion tool! *CAUTION: Over tightening the graphoil packing puts friction on the rod / probe requiring more force to insert and prevents a smooth travel during retraction.

Figure 1

Figure 2

INSTALLATION AND USE OF THE SPECIAL HP TOOL FOR INSERTION OF THE MODEL MM-15 AND MODEL MM-50 1) With the process isolation valve closed, turn the hand crank counter clockwise to move the draw bar to the retracted position of the coupon holder or atomizer / quill. 2) Position the brass swivel mounting nut on the base of the tool where the slot is open. (Figure 3) 3) Slide the slot over the rod/probe of the MM-15 / MM-50 and tighten the swivel nut on the adjacent male threads of the MM-15 / MM-50. 4) Adjust the draw bar position with the hand crank until the rod adapter threads are exposed through the draw bar. 5) Remove the 5/8 nut from the storage post (Special HP Tool only) on the top of the tool. 6) Thread the 5/8 nut onto the rod/probe adapter and tighten. (Figure 4) 7) Slowly open the process isolation valve. *Note leaks may be present around the graphoil packing (if applicable). 8) With a firm grip on the hand crank, loosen the rod / probe locking bolt and turn the hand crank clockwise to insert to the desired depth (viewing the permanent mark ,made in the previous step, through the tool base slot). 9) Tighten the rod / probe locking bolt. NOTE: 35 ft lbs of Torque will Hold a 3/8 Diameter Rod in Place Against 7500 psi Process Pressure. 10) With tool attached, loosen the packing gland lock bolt and turn the packing gland assembly clock wise until no leak is present. Tighten the packing gland assembly lock bolt. 11) Remove the tool and attach safety cap or safety chain. (Figure 5)

INSTALLATION AND USE OF THE SPECIAL HP TOOL FOR RETRACTION OF THE MODEL MM-15 AND MODEL MM-50 1) Remove the safety cap or safety chain. 2) Turn the hand crank clockwise to move the draw bar to the inserted position of the coupon holder or atomizer / quill. 3) Position the brass swivel mounting nut on the base of the tool where the slot is open. 4) Slide the slot over the rod/probe of the MM-15 / MM-50 and tighten the swivel nut on the adjacent male threads of the MM-15 / MM-50. 5) Adjust the draw bar position with the hand crank until the rod adapter threads are exposed through the draw bar. 6) Remove the 5/8 nut from the storage post on top of the tool (Special HP Tool only). 7) Thread the 5/8 nut onto the rod/probe adapter and tighten. 8) With a firm grip on the hand crank, loosen the rod / probe locking bolt and turn the hand crank clockwise to insert to the desired depth (viewing the permanent mark ,made in the previous step, through the tool base slot). 9) Tighten the rod / probe locking bolt and remove tool. NOTE: 35 ft lbs of Torque will Hold a 3/8 Diameter Rod in Place Against 7500 psi Process Pressure. 10) Attach safety cap or safety chain.

INSTALLATION AND USE OF THE SPECIAL HP EXL TOOL FOR INSERTION / RETRACTION OF THE MODEL MM-15 AND MODEL MM-50 1) Turn the hand crank counter clockwise to move the draw bar to the fully retracted position of the rod / probe (measurement required). 2) Remove the locking collet assembly from the draw bar. CAUTION: Collet must be reinstalled with the correct side up. The top is marked with a dot. 3) Position the brass swivel mounting nut on the base of the tool where the slot is open. 4) Slide the slots of the mounting swivel nut, draw bar, and top bar (top bar may have an optional support tube) over the rod / probe of the MM-15 / MM-50 and tighten the swivel nut on the adjacent male threads of the MM-15 / MM-50. 5) Attach the locking collet assembly to the draw bar and tighten (for multiple draw bar travels on extended length rods/probes merely loosen the lock bolt each pass). With the locking collet 5/8 bolt tight* against the rod/probe, and the locking bolt tight* on the MM-15/MM-50, slowly open the process isolation valve. * NOTE: 35 ft lbs of Torque will Hold a 3/8 Diameter Rod in Place Against 7500 psi Process Pressure. 7) With a hand on the tool crank handle, loosen the rod / probe locking 5/8 bolt and turn the hand crank clockwise to insert to the desired depth (permanent mark made in the previous step). 8) For the final insertion stroke, tighten the draw bar locking collet onto the 3/8rod adapter. 9) Tighten the rod / probe locking bolt and remove tool. 10) Attach safety cap or safety chain.
