MAN 6-cylinder 4-valve in-line engine, with Common Rail injection, turbocharging and intercooling. EDC electronic engine regulation. EURO 5 emission standard with OBD2 (onboard diagnosis) and NOx-control. SCR catalytic converter with Adblue injection. MAN Engine Valve Brake (EVB) fitted as standard.

Intake / Exhaust System
Raised air intake with pre-filter mounted on the L/H side of the cab with air filter housing under rear of cabin. High mounted muffler behind the cab on right, with vertical discharge.

Transfer Case
G252 two speed transfer case with permanent drive to front and rear axles.

Fuel Tank Transmission

MAN 12 speed TipMatic (ZF AStronic) gearbox. 12 forward speeds, 2 reverse ratios. Suitable for gross train weights up to 90T. Automated constant mesh gearbox. With MAN TipMatic, shifting and clutching are electropneumatic - there is no clutch pedal. Normal mode is automated with manual mode available (shifting via fingertip lever). Driving with engaged PTO only in gears 2 or 4. M setting for precise low-speed manoevering in forward & reverse. X setting for offroad use. 400L aluminium fuel tank with guard plate on right + 35L Adblue tank on left between steer axles, with lockable caps. Option of 600L aluminium tank +35L Adblue tank.

Front Axles / Suspension

MAN hub reduction VP/VPD-09 2 x 9,000kg permanently driven front axles. Load sharing 2 x 8,000kg parabolic springs with stabiliser and shock absorbers. Differential lock in 1st and 2nd axle plus inter-axle lock.

Rear Axles / Suspension

MAN Hub reduction HPD 1382 / HP 1352 tandem axle with slideshackle multi leaf springs and stabilisers. Fitted with differential locks and interaxle lock. Optional differential ratios available: 3.25, 3.63, 4.33, 4.83. Suspension design rating: 2 x 13,000kgs.

Wheels and Tyres

Fitted with 315/80 R22.5 tyres on 9.00 x 22.5 10 hole steel disc wheels. Spare wheel supplied loose and mounted temporarily on frame. Basic wheel changing equipment supplied.

Frame
High build design ladder frame made from QstE500TM high strength steel. Frame Dimensions 270mm x 85mm x 9.5mm. 3 piece steel bumper fitted. Front Under Run Protection System (FUPS) not fitted to this model due to off road vehicle classification.

Cab Interior
High comfort ISRI drivers seat with air suspension, integrated seat belt and arm rests. Factory fitted climate control system. Double DIN size radio/CD player with MAN 6 speaker sound system. Electrically operated power windows. Interior sunblinds to windscreen and both doors. Central storage box between the seats, large storage drawer in the dash console, modular cup holder and glasses storage compartment. Silver dashboard trim strip. Reading lamps for driver and codriver. 2 windows in rear cab wall.

Brake System
MAN Electronic Brake System (EBS) with ABS standard. Drum brakes fitted to all axles. Full air operated system fitted with air dryer. Hand operated trailer brake.

Steering
Fully adjustable steering wheel with pneumatic lock. Multifunction steering wheel interfaces with CD/radio, cruise control and electronic dash display functions. Controls for optional integrated factory Bluetooth phone system.

Lights
Headlights fitted with longlife H7 type globes. Lighting system operation check. Protective grille for headlights.

Clutch
Single plate 430mm diameter clutch - asbestos free.

Instrument Panel
Full electronic Base Line dash display with easy access to vehicle information systems. Permanent guages: tachometer, speedometer, odometer, air pressure guages, coolant temperature, fuel guage, indicator operation, gear selection. Sample electronic display: time, outside temperature, trip meter, brake wear, oil level, fuel consumption, battery voltage, etc. Warning lights for all major functions such as: diff lock status, low air pressure, low fuel, lights, cab lock, air suspension, etc.

Speed Limiter
Vehicle electronically limited to 100kmh. Driver programmable speed limit function can operate between 40kmh and 100kmh.

Electrical System
24V Electrical system with manual battery isolation switch. 80 Amp alternator, 2 x 155Ah batteries. KSM module fitted for communication of required body/ chassis function.

Paintwork
Cab finished in Traffic White (RAL9016). Chassis finished in Graphite Black (RAL 9011). Steel bumper and lower plastics finished in grey.

Cab Options

Cab compliant with ECE R29 safety requirements. All metal parts are Galvanised. 65 degree cab tilt angle, 87 degree door opening. Exterior sunvisor. Entry lighting for driver and passenger.
