Rian said a few words to explain why they had stepped down from their position, and Rian gave a brief presidential update on the society has been running. Anna stepped up to explain about the societys rectorship campaign nominations for an LGBTQ rector are being suggested. Question what does the rector stand for? The rector represents student interests and interests of student bodies. It is a very influential position at the university and the rector always has the students interests at heart. And now we move onto the elections... President Kim Middleton is the only candidate running. She gave a 3 and a half page speech in size 11 font (!) outlining what she thought had worked well in the society and what shed improve, as well as the reasons why she would be a good candidate for the position. Questions 1) Question about Kims comment on poor SRC equality and diversity training. Kim said that the equality and diversity training offered to staff at the moment is just on Moodle, and she thought it could be of a better standard. 2) What would she do to make events more fun? Kim praised Andrew for his welfare events and says it can be hard for fun. 3) Rectorship why are we running this campaign and what will it achieve? Kim said that it will increase diversity and ethos of society having an lgbtq candidate. 4) What could we do to challenge the culture of the uni? Kim said that we could do this by providing better training to members of staff with a clear code of conduct. 5) Queerfest is an opportunity to work with other societies; are there any plans to work with other societies? Kim made reference to last year, when we had an event with the Cecilian Society. Kim talked about having a panel with figures from each of the religious societies has already spoken with the CU.

Election Result All have been asked to either vote Yes for Kim, or choose to abstain. 37 YES 0 ABSTENTIONS Kim is the new GULGBTQ+ President.

Vice President Secretary Iain French is the only member running for this position and gave a speech on how he can organise minutes better (table format!) and why he is the ideal candidate for the job.

Break from 20:50 - 21:10 Womens Officer Amy Halliday is the only candidate running for this position. Amy gave a speech showing why she was suitable for the position, suggested having a social event and a welfare event (self-defence class), position as a welfare officer, website improvements. Questions - Cross-campus stuff, any ideas? Talk of feminist society having an event for International Womens Day. - Welfare officer needs to meet people for coffee... What coffee would you order? Amys a tea drinker! - How do you spell womens officer? Election Result 29 YES 0 NO 0 ABSTENTIONS Publicity Officer Mariam is the only candidate running for this position. They gave a speech about why theyre suitable for the position has already been helping with the societys website page. Helped in running fathers website and also created posters for an animal adoption charity. Questions - What were your posters for the animal adoption charity like? - Member asked if she could make her a poster!
