Multipurpose and versatile, Hortus is the ideal solution for creating areas of outstanding comfort and elegance even outdoors. The warm veining of the wood means that Hortus floors blend in naturally with their surroundings and create the ideal conditions for relaxation and wellbeing. Perfect at the edge of your pool, on your garden paths, gazebo or patio. Functional and completely hygienic in saunas, in fitness centres, spas and beachside areas. It's versatile and quick to install construction makes it ideal for itinerant displays: there are really no limits to its potential applications. Thanks to the ease with which it can be laid and removed, Hortus is especially suited to temporary installations, such as seasonal concessionaries in hotels and restaurants. But Hortus is also a practical and convenient solution

for the home: the ease with which it can be removed allows the DIY enthusiast to floor his outdoors areas in the complete confidence that it can be quickly removed in case of a house move, breakage of underground pipes or to protect the wood from the rigours of the winter, as with garden furniture. Only Hortus enables anyone to create their own private oasis of tranquillity in their own backyard or patio, with the need of complex and expensive construction work. Hortus floors are available in two finishes: non-slip, specifically designed for surfaces like swimming pool surrounds, beach side areas and spas, where complete safety when walking barefoot is an essential requirement, or smooth, for patios, gardens and gazebos.

PRELIMINARY DESCRIPTION OF THE SPECIES
Found all over India and Malaysia, Teak (Tectona grandis) is a large tree which grows up to 40 m tall and over 120 cm wide at chest height. It belongs to the large Verbenaceae family, which includes over 800 species (herbaceous and arboreal), the leaves are verticillate with hermaphroditic, zygomorphous flowers (not radiused and divided into two equal symmetrical halves) and the fruit is a pod. In the wild, the tree grows between the plains and hills up to 1000 m in mixed tropical hardwood forest; it is cultivated in many tropical and subtropical areas of Indonesia, where it reaches a smaller size ( around 20/25 m high and 80/90 cm diameter). The trunks, which are only slightly tapered and regular in shape, are harvested after removing a circular strip of bark all around the plant.

PRELIMINARY DESCRIPTION OF THE SPECIES
The Lapacho tree (Tabebuia ip) grows in the mixed hardwood rain forest of Brazil. The plants reach a height of 230 m with a diameter at chest height of up to 1.4 m. The trunks, which are regularly shaped and not very tapered, are characterised by the absence of branching below the first platform and often have buttressed roots which are generally not very large. Despite the large area in which they grow, imports are limited and the wood is not widely available. This dicotyledonous tree, a member of the Bignoniaceae family, of which the Paulownia spp is also a member and which includes around one hundred species, is known for its spectacular flowers. The flowers, which are hermaphroditic and zygomorphous, are grouped into determinate and indeterminate heads.

Woods MASSARANDUBA - standard smooth finish

PRELIMINARY DESCRIPTION OF THE SPECIES
The trees of Massaranduba (scientific name: Manilkara Bidentata) grow wildly in the rain forests of South America. They are found mostly in Brazil, Venezuela and Guiana but can also be found in the vast area between South America and the Amazon. The trees are of a large dimension about thirty meters high, with a shoulder-width diameter, rarely larger than 110 cm. The trunks are usually cylindrical, with few branches and often have low-laying buttresses at the base. The widespread diffusion of this broad-leaved species and the vastness of the areas where it grows makes it a sure bet for abundant supplies. Belonging to the Sapotacae family (the same as the other tropical families such as the Moabi and Longhi etc.) it is characterized by leaves with an internal margin and with wide secretion canals and edible fruit. From the bark a lattice is withdrawn that is used in the production of rubber products such as golf balls, straps, specific shock absorbers etc.

SPECIFICATION ITEM Self-fitting flooring made of square wood tiles impregnated with oil/wax with a total thickness of 32 mm, composed of the interlaying of wooden planks on a removable, plastic, water-draining support, with assembly by stainless steel A2 screws wood support. Size 300x300 mm. Withstands vehicle traffic.

Hortus tiles stand out not only for the superlative quality of their woods, but also for their patented grid construction. This is a removable modular support made of plastic, with snap connectors and spacer feet. The mesh base provides quick and natural draining of water and humidity, while the supporting base gives the product stability and strength. The snap connectors fit together without using tools. This makes laying and removing the floor exceptionally quick and easy, ensures excellent drainage, and allows installation on any surface. Hortus offers two types of grid: the classic, heavy duty polyethylene grid for uneven surfaces and the new lightweight polypropylene grid, more suited to level surfaces. Both are equipped with feet and feature exceptional strength (1000 kg/m2), so that Hortus can be installed even in heavy foot traffic areas.

PATENTED POLYETHYLENE GRID:

Suited to all surfaces, thanks to its robust, heavy duty construction is ideal for uneven surfaces when laid in a checkerboard pattern.

PATENTED POLYPROPYLENE GRID:

Lighter and lower cost. Due to its special construction, it is ideal for use on level concrete surfaces.

VARIANT 3

Procedure

Fit the male connector over the female connector so that they snap together.

4 3
After laying, brush on a coat of our special ready to use oil.

To remove the floor, use a small screwdriver to lift one of the snap connectors, taking care not to apply too much pressure. Now lower the tile so that the connector disengages.

Slightly lift the male side of the tile and fit the female side of the next tile under it so that they snap together.
