Career objective
My goal is to gain a strong foundation in project implementation through vacation work/internship experience. I also aim to achieve a graduate position, in order to commence my career as an engineer. With the final year of my degree coming to a close, I have self-developed in many key areas to assure I am successful throughout my career. These include; the ability to communicate clearly and professionally, working alongside team members with a variety of cultural backgrounds, and solving problems with unique parameters and restrictions. I am very committed and eager to utilise these skills in the work force.

Skills, experience and personal attributes

Strong Verbal and Written Communication.
During my studies it has been a necessity to communicate information, findings and ideas through various formats. Whether it be oral presentations, written reports, emailing, or simply one on one discussions with staff, it has become second nature to express myself in a clear and professional manner. Adequate preparation has been the key to my success when delivering in-depth presentations. This included presenting to a lecture theater consisting of one hundred colleagues and staff, which was necessary to complete my Engineering Innovations and Ethics unit.

Team Orientated.
The ability to work effectively in a team is recognised industry wide and I have been given many opportunities to experience this throughout my education. Considering the diverse university population, I have been able to work alongside and develop a rapport with many colleagues from different cultural backgrounds. I have also had experience in leading/organising a team for various projects. This included an 'Engineers Without Borders' project which I was involved in. The task challenged my team to present an idea that would assist Cambodians living below the poverty line. I was the designated team leader to manage my group in an organised and efficient manner. Assessment by my team members and the unit coordinator, resulted in my receiving a high distinction for the project and unit.

Organised & Punctual.

Organisation has not only been a strong suit in my academic life, but in all areas. I have been living independently (renting away from home) since the age of 21 and have managed to do so with limited funds. This means I've had to proficiently allocate time to my studies, work, recreational and household activities, to ensure I maintain an effective balance and that I am successful in my tertiary education. As a sub-contractor, I am responsible for finding work through my contacts (construction supervisors) and invoicing for my payments. I am often faced with the pressure of compiling deadlines, whether it be assignments, exams, household bills, inspections or job completion dates. Time allocation is one of my many strong points and I allow enough to complete each task to the best of my ability.
