Source: visiongain 2013; company reports The gold standard of wound care remains the use of autologous skin grafts. This technique requires removal of healthy skin from one area of the patient to implant in another. The clear limitation of this treatment is the availability of healthy donor skin. For example, in burns victims, a large amount of donor skin is often required as burns can cover large areas.
