Reckless-driving Rasyid ducks detention
The Jakarta Post, Jakarta | Headlines | Sun, January 13 2013, 10:35 AM Paper Edition | Page: 2 The suspect in a fatal car crash, M. Rasyid Amrullah Rajasa, 22, left the National Police Hospital in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, on Friday after doctors said he had recovered from injuries sustained in the accident. The police did not detain him, despite his status as a suspect in the accident, which resulted in the deaths of two people.Investigators felt that Rasyid should be released while he awaits trial as his family has guaranteed that he will not flee, Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Rikwanto said on Saturday.Rikwanto confirmed that although Rasyids physical condition was good, he was still suffering psychological after-effects. Rasyid is the son of Coordinating Economic Minister Hatta Rajasa. He was involved in a fatal collision on the Jagorawi toll road near South Jakarta early on New Years Day that killed two people and injured three others. He was driving a BMW X5 at 120 kilometers per hour when he rear-ended a Daihatsu Luxio on the toll road. Police said the accident occurred because Rasyid, who did not test positive for alcohol or drugs, was drowsy after staying up all night to celebrate New Years Eve in Kemang, South Jakarta, with his girlfriend, Prillia Kinanti, 22. Police named him a suspect of reckless driving shortly after a brief questioning session at the VVIP unit of the Pertamina Hospital in South Jakarta where he was treated for shock after the accident.Police said that Rasyid would likely be charged with reckless driving resulting in the death and injury of others, as stipulated in the 2009 Traffic and Public Transportation Law. If found guilty, he could be jailed for at least five years, police said. However, unlike other reckless driving cases, police did not immediately put Rasyid behind bars. The police claim they have treated Rasyid in the same way as other suspects of the same offense.Reckless driving suspect Andika Pradita, who was involved in a series of collisions that left two people dead and five others injured on Jl. Ampera, South Jakarta recently, was detained after being named a suspect.Witnesses said that Andika, 23, was driving his Grand Livina car from Kemang to Cilandak at 12:30 a.m. at high speed and without lights when he hit three motorcycles parked on Jl. Ampera. When he tried to flee the scene, Andika swerved off the road and hit a food stall and another motorcycle. Without stopping, he again attempted to drive off, only to crash into an oncoming car, killing two people and injuring five. Earlier this week, Rasyid appeared for questioning, escorted by his father.

However, police were unable to complete the session as Rasyid felt dizzy and nauseous, and ultimately fainted during interrogation. Doctors later confirmed that Rasyid was actually still sick when he responded to the police summons. After fainting, he was immediately taken to the National Police Hospital to undergo further treatment. On Friday, police said investigators had completed the questioning process after visiting Rasyid at hospital. His charge file was completed the same day and immediately handed over to prosecutors. The police decision to not detain Rasyid after the accident has raised questions over the forces impartiality in handling the case in view of Hattas status as a minister and his daughters recent marriage to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyonos youngest son, Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono.Meanwhile, Indonesia Police Watch told tempo.co that the police seemed to have washed their hands of the case, preferring to immediately pass it on to prosecutors. Its only been 11 days and the dossier is already complete. That is too fast, the watchdogs chairman, Neta S. Pane, said.He added that the police may not conduct a reconstruction of the crash, unlike in other cases.According to Neta, the reason not to immediately arrest Rasyid showed that the police were giving him special treatment. He added that the fact that Rasyid had been negligent and caused the deaths of two people was more than enough grounds for an arrest. (fzm)

Mastermind behind Poso attacks remains a mystery

Ruslan Sangadji, The Jakarta Post, Palu | Headlines | Sun, January 13 2013, 10:57 AM A- A A+ Paper Edition | Page: 3 Locals gather at the Nur Afiah Mosque belonging to the Wahidin Sudirohusodo Hospital in Makassar, South Sulawesi, on Friday, where Detachment 88 counterterrorism unit personnel recently engaged in a gunfight with four suspected terrorists. (Antara/Sahrul Manda Tikupadang) Who is responsible for the acts of terror in Poso, Central Sulawesi? The question is often a topic of discussion among many people. During the discussions, the name Santoso is frequently mentioned. The man is currently the most wanted suspected terrorist in Poso as he is said to be the leader of a terrorist group involved in various terror attacks in the regency.Attacks launched in 2012 include the murder of two police officers, Andi Sappa and Sudirman, in Tamanjeka hamlet, Poso Pesisir, in August; a bomb attack in North Poso, also in August; a bomb attack at a Poso City Police post in September; the shooting of the North Poso Pesisir Police station chief in November; and the shooting of four police

Mobile Brigade (Brimob) members in North Poso Pesisir in December. So, just who is Santoso? According to various sources, Santoso is a school dropout. Before the devastating riot of 2000, Santoso was a thug operating at the Poso central market. He was a former member of the group led by Basri, who was on top of the polices wanted list in 2007. Basri eventually surrendered to police after a gunfight on Feb. 1, 2007 in Poso. Basri was believed to be a member of the Jamaah Islamiyah group. After Basri was arrested and subsequently imprisoned, the hard-line group in Poso was without a leader until Santoso took over later in 2007.However, Santoso disappeared soon after that. It is believed he went to Java and Bima, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), and later joined the Jamaah Ansharut Tauhid (JAT) group, formed by Abu Bakar Baasyir, who is currently serving time in Nusa Kambangan Penitentiary in Central Java.During his absence from Poso, Santoso reportedly learned guerilla warfare strategies and how to assemble bombs. He is also adept at operating a computer and the Internet. Santosos name emerged again when two police officers stationed at a security post at a private bank in Palu, were shot dead in May 2011. A week later, two suspects in the attack were shot by the polices Densus 88 counterterrorism squad in a Poso forest. They were members of Santosos gang, Central Sulawesi Police chief Brig. Gen. Dewa Parsana said.Santoso and his men from Bima reportedly set up militant training camps in Gunung Biru, Tamanjeka hamlet, Poso Pesisir, and in Malino village, Malei district, and turned Gunung Biru into their base camp.Santoso and a number of Bima residents arrived in Poso after a bomb explosion at the Umar bin Khattab Islamic boarding school, led by Abrori bin Ayubi, in Bima in July 2011. A few days before Christmas, police nabbed Mutun, alias Dhani, who is believed to be a member of Santosos group. Mutun admitted that Santoso was still in Poso. The police said they had obtained information on Santosos whereabouts from him.Poso has experienced prolonged sectarian conflict in past years. Conflict broke out in 1998, and again in 2000, when more than 2,000 people were either killed or went missing. In 2001, a peace pact called the Malino Declaration was signed in Malino, South Sulawesi, facilitated by former vice president Jusuf Kalla. After the Malino Declaration, no more conflict involving the Muslim and Christian communities occurred, but the seeds of terrorism have thrived ever since. A number of people, who are still consistent in their struggle, are believed to have joined JAT. A researcher with the Prasasti Indonesia Foundation, Taufik Andrie, said the recent terror attacks in Poso were more directed at the police and not civilians. They apparently target the police because they are regarded as a hindrance to their cause. For the terrorists, dying in the line of a religious cause is shuhada (martyrdom) and the authorities are considered enemies who must be fought.Members of the group also choose to die for their religious cause, because for them it is shuhada and the reward is heaven. This is dangerous, said

Taufik. The police have launched a number of operations to secure Poso and track down Santoso, but to no avail. A former member of a hard-line group in Tokorondo village who has become a pacifist, identified only as AT, told The Jakarta Post that he often saw Santoso riding a motorcycle in Poso Pesisir. I was threatened by him [Santoso] twice. If I were to go missing or be killed, the perpetrator would likely be Santoso, AT told the Post.

Explanation Text 1 RAINBOW Rainbow is one of optic phenomena that happens in the atmosphere of the earth naturally. W

e can see it at mountin range, or when it is cloudy, or when it is raining and rising of sun. W e have to be the other side for looking. We just can see it a half of circle form, but acctually the rainbow is a circle form. We can see it perfectly, if it is seen by standing in the high place. It is real that rainbow is a circle form not like parabola form. On the ground, we can not see perfectly, except if we are in the high place like in the air plan e or standing on top of moutain. When we are looking at rainbows colors, we will see them t hat ordered of red is on the highest order, and purple is on the lowest order. Red is more dominant than another color caused by having biggest wave between others. The refore the red one is in the highest order and purple one is in lowest order. How rainbow is fo rmed? Try to watch it when light of sun concerns a 90-degree angle mirror or a glass prism si de, or surface of soap foam. We can see colors on the light. The light is rayyed to be some w ave lenght of light that it is seen by our eyes as red, bright red, yellow, green, blue and purple. These colors are compnents of light that they are called visible light. The other component is invisible light such as infrared (red is in the right side), and ultraviolet (bright red is in the left side). So, we can see the beautiful rainbow because there are some processes to be beautiful rainbo w that it appears in the sky.

Explanation Text 2 VOLCANO ERUPTION Do you know what a volcano is? I guess you all know volcano is a mountain with magma insi de it. Most volcanoes are formed on land, but there are some volcanoes that are on the ocean f loor. You know the famous volcanoes in Indonesia, right? Yes, there are Mount Merapi and Mount Krakatau. Mount Merapi was erupt in October 2010 and Mount Krakatau was erupt in 1883. The eruptions are really massive and destructive. Do you want to know how is the volc ano erupting? Well, let me explain to you. At first, the eruption begins when pressure on a magma chamber inside the volcano forces ma gma up through the conduit and out the volcano's vents. Then, when the magma chamber has been completely filled, the pressure is getting higher. Finally, the magma reaches up to the su rface. When magma reaches earth's surface it is called lava. It may pour out in gentle streams called lava flows or erupt violently into the air. Rocks ripped loose from the inside of the vol cano or torn apart by the gas may be shot into the air with the lava. The lava destroys everythi ng in its path because it is very hot. The big rocks can destroy anything because the sizes are super big. The thick black smoke can burn everything slowly and its suffocating. Theres no doubt that volcano eruption is really dangerous. Many people were dead because of it. A big number of people had to abandon their homes and land forever. Even the whole

world's climate was changed for a while as a result of an eruption. But volcano eruptions brin g good effects too, because after a long time it can make the land fertile. EXPLANATION TEXT 3 How Does Rain Happen? Rain is the primary source of fresh water for most areas of the world, providing suitable cond itions for diverse ecosystems, as well as water for hydroelectric power plants and crop irrigati on. The phenomenon of rain is actually a water circle. The concept of the water cycle involves th e sun heating the Earth's surface water and causing the surface water to evaporate. The water vapor rises into the Earth's atmosphere. The water in the atmosphere cools and condenses into liquid droplets. The droplets grow until they are heavy and fall to the earth as precipitation w hich can be in the form of rain or snow. However, not all rain reaches the surface. Some evaporates while falling through dry air. This is called virga, a phenomenon which is often seen in hot, dry desert regions. EXPLANATION TEXT 4 How Does Photosynthesis Process Happen ? Photosynthesis is a syntesis process of food to be an energy source in green plant (a chrolofile d plant). In Biology dictionary, Photosynthesis can be difinite as a process of making food tha t happen in the leaf, which done by the chlorophyll and helped by the sun light. There are so me factors which influence the photosynthesis process, such as : light, chlorophyll, temperatu re, carbondioxide and water. Water (H2O) and carbondioxide (CO2) are very importent as a raw material during the photos ynthesis process. Water can be found in the bottom of the soil by using root of the plant, the r oot will sperate and enlarge to absorb water around. After that, vaxcular xilem will bring the water from root, into the leaf. At that time also, carbondioxide will absorb from the external a ir by the slits, they are stomata and lentisel. Water and carbondioxide which have absorbed will colect in the palisade tisue and do the pho tosynthesis process in the leaf. During the photosynthesis they are helped by sun light which f ind in the green colored pigment (chrolophyll), the sun light will break water molecule into o xigen and hidrogen. In one side the oxigen is released to the external air and at the other side t he oxigen is used by plant to breath, meanwhile the hidrogen mix with the carbondioxide and form glucose which distributed by vascular floem into the all body of plant.

As the job opportunity is increasing limited on the land, more and more young man are turni ng to the sea for a living. Some of them choose to work on a ship only after they have failed t o get a job. However, many young men actually would rather work on the sea than on land. I n my opinion, there are several reasons that account for increasing interest in persuing mariti me professions. Firstly, our country is made up of many lands. We are surrounded by water. It is not surprisin g that many people have growm to love the sea. In order to be able to spend more time near t he sea, they decide to work on it. Many of them spend their whole lives on the water. Secondly, the many school dropouts in the country as well as those young men who have just finished their education in school are looking for jobs at the same time. Competition for jobs is therefore great. Many fail to get work in offce or factories, so these people turn to the sea a s a last resort. Thirdly, some young men face problem at home. They want to get as far away from these pro blems as possible. The sea becomes a popular means of escape. Finally, young people are naturally advantageous. They love to explore new places. They enj oy the excitement that comes with this. By working on a ship, they are able to travel far and wide. Besides, food and lodging on board the ship are free. Thus , many young men are attrac ted to maritime profession.

EXAMPLE 2

Television is the most popular form of entertainment in any household. But I think Television tends to have a tremendous influence on its viewers. Firstly, based on the recent research, people of all ages use this medium to entertain themselv es for an average of five hours a day. Of course, constant exposure of TV will influence the v iewers thinking and attitude. This can be seen from the fact that many criminals are inspired from the scene on TV. Secondly, people can be affected by constant watching television. This is due to the fact that they less in physical activities, spend less time reading and working and see a work of violenc e that can affect their own feelings of security. Finally, comercial advertisement on TV can be a brain washing. Psychologically, constant sh ow of advertisement will shape ones image about one product. No wonder people are easier t o remember the motto or slogan of one advertisement than to retrieve information that they h ave learned. In short, TV will be a kind of monster can conquer ones mind and attitude.

EXAMPLE 3

Cigarette smokers are said to have chance of getting various fatal diseases. But I think that ot her peoples tobacco smoke seems to increase the chances of non-smokers getting a wide ran ge of cancers. First , although passive smokers inhale less tobacco smoke, the researchers point out that the smoke they breathe in is richer in many toxic chemicals. There is an example, three times as much as benzo-apyrene, six times as much loluene and more than 50 times as much dimenthy l nitrosamine. Of course these substances will harm our body in the long run. Second , the recent research reported that the risk of getting cancers not normally associated with smoking also rose among passive smokers. The risk of leukaemia rose 6 8 times and t he risk of cervical cancer increased 3 4 times. Third , past studies have found that by product of cigarette smoke such as coinine and thiocyn ate, turn up in the blood, urine and saliva of non smoking adults, children and fetuses that ha ve been exposed to smokers. These substances are the main causes of various cancers. In short , the effects of exposure to the cigarette smoking of others are greater than has been p reviously suspected. That is why passive smokers have more chances of contracting cancer t han people with no such expose.

(1) Life Of Pi

Ang Lee, the deep blue sea in 3D!

Dec 18th 2012By Matt Mueller

Adaptations of supposedly unfilmable novels are currently arriving at a rate of knots from smart, audacious directors: Cosmopolis, On The Road,Midnights Children, Cloud Atlas

But leading the pack is Ang Lees thrillingly conceived and executed take on Yann Martels Booker Prize winner. Cracking the most daunting literary codes has felled many an accomplished filmmaker, from Mike Nichols (Catch-22) to David Lynch (Dune). Whats more, the omens werent looking good for Life Of Pi, with one auteur after another in the frame then out of it (M. Night Shyamalan, Alfonso Cuarn and Jean-Pierre Jeunet). But then Lee arrived as a shining knight, wielding superior pixel power and warm-blooded empathy. The Taiwanese director - whos always had a knack for an adap (Sense And Sensibility, The Ice Storm, Brokeback Mountain) - has done handsome justice to Martels spellbinding 2001 fable about one boys supreme efforts to survive a tragic shipwreck. Pi-hards will delight at Lees strict devotion to Martels prose, with only minor deviations to enrich the brew. What hes engineered is a lush, liquid 3D masterwork that delivers one breath-snatching image after another, kicking off with French Indias faded colonial grandeur and segueing into a tidal wave of marine magnificence: spectacular typhoons followed by turquoise serenity; the prodigiously-staged sinking of an animal-crammed freighter; a nighttime ocean aglow with luminescent sea-life Life Of Pi is a marvel of virtuoso cinematic artistry; its also a riveting tale of adventure and endurance, Lee deftly integrating sombre themes into his ocean vistas. Pi is portrayed by three actors. Newcomer Ayush Tandon is the Indian boy growing up in familyowned Pondicherry Zoo, who reveals how he acquired his bizarre name and arrived at his allencompassing embrace of three religions: Hinduism, Christianity and Islam. Slumdog Millionaires Irrfan Khan is award-worthy as the Toronto-dwelling adult Pi, recounting his story in flashback to Martel (Rafe Spall) in Lees most significant deviation from the source. Last not least, bearing the brunt of the narrative, is Suraj Sharma as the teenage Pi, who leaves India for Canada with family and menagerie aboard the Japanese cargo ship Tsimtsum, only to watch it sink in a savage storm. Hes left to fight for survival aboard a lifeboat, his fellow castaways an injured zebra, an orangutan, a hyena and a ferocious tiger whimsically named Richard Parker. (Needless to say, this unmerry bands numbers are swiftly whittled down.) In his first acting role, Sharma proves to be both awesome discovery and mild disappointment. The former because he rises valiantly to the challenge of bringing the resourceful Pi to life; the latter because Pis emotive musings on subsistence and enlightenment, expressed so movingly on the page, arent conveyed with as much potency through his performance. Its a game, auspicious effort, though. Pis feline tormentor, on the other hand, is a monumental creation, vividly brought to life with a mix of animatronics, CGI and reality. Like Caesar inRise Of The Planet Of The Apes, Richard Parker is another bold leap forward for emotionally resonant digital characters: magnificent, frightening, heartbreaking, and an unceasingly compelling manifestation of wonder within the narrative tapestry. Martels spiritually minded prose, which comes steeped in meditation and metaphor, tips its hat to God-belief while also striking a humanistic chord, maintaining an edge of ambiguity that allows both believer and atheist room for manoeuvre.

Theres a glut of big ideas to wade though in Life Of Pi. As Spall says at one point, Its a lot to take in, to figure out what it all means. (To which the middle-aged Pi responds: Why does it need to mean anything?) But metaphysical musings are more the icing on the cake, as the film also satisfies as an adrenalised, death-defying high-seas adventure. Where Lee has tinkered, hes done so with care and an eye to audience sensibilities: gone are the novels most horrific animal suffering, the obsessive minutiae of oceanic survival and a hallucinatory episode where Pi dreams up a conversation with Richard Parker. While hardcore disciples might bemoan its absence, it was a shrewd move leaving it out: theres enough magic realism here to satiate the greediest appetite. And besides, it probably wouldnt have sat well with the films triumph-of-the-spirit dramatic arc. As for the novels grimly repellent but resonant coda, it remains intact. Ultimately, its a tale that revels in unfettered imagination and the possibilities of storytelling, as well as the fierce avoidance of dry, yeastless factuality in life. At times, the narrative gets a bit too misty-eyed at its own lofty purpose. Yet its possible that viewers will embrace Lees vision with the same fervour as Martels readers. Verdict: A riot of saturated colour and delirious imagination, Ang Lees adap radiates spirituality. But its also a simple, thrilling and gently uplifting tale of a boy, a boat and a tiger. Take the plunge.

(2) Jack Reacher Tom Cruise on the trail of a sniper? Well worth a shot
Dec 16th 2012By James Mottram

It can be exhilarating to watch when an actor finds a director they click with. The moment Tom Cruise strides into Jack Reacher, smouldering like an active volcano, that click can be heard loud and clear. Its been a dozen years since the Oscar-winning screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects) directed his only film to date the highly underrated modern western/noir The Way Of The Gun.

In that time, however, he co-wrote the script for the Cruises WW2 picValkyrie; enough to convince the actor to collaborate on this adaptation of British writer Lee Childs 2005 thriller One Shot. The ninth novel in Childs Jack Reacher series, the title bears relation to the snipers creed one shot, one kill a maxim of deadly economy which McQuarrie reflects in a super-lean opening sequence. A shooter arrives in a parking lot, assembles his rifle and takes down five seemingly random passers-by. But carelessly dropping a shell-casing on the floor, he also leaves a conspicuous fingerprint on the coin he slots into a nearby parking meter. It doesnt take the cops long to trace it to James Barr (Joseph Sikora), a former military sniper. Promptly arrested, he refuses to talk requesting just one thing: Jack Reacher. A former military police officer (where every suspect was a trained killer), Reacher is now a drifter living off the grid a ghost with little in the way of a past or, it seems, possessions (just the clothes he stands in). He doesnt care about proof. He doesnt care about the law. He only cares about whats right, says Barr. But while that makes Reacher sound like a tagline to an 80s thriller, his roots lie elsewhere. Part Jason Bourne, part Dirty Harry, Reacher is the outsider-vigilante, an anti-hero who lives a minimalist, monastic-like existence. The twist the first of several is that Reacher is no friend of Barrs. Rather, he believes the guy is guilty for a crime he committed years earlier but got away with on a technicality. Yet gradually, as he begins to look at the case in conjunction with Barrs lawyer, Helen Rodin (Rosamund Pike) who just for added spice is going up against her District Attorney father, Alex Rodin (Richard Jenkins) he becomes convinced the accused is innocent. From the rather obvious trail of clues leading the police to Barr to the fact that a trained sniper missed one shot (and parked his van in an inopportune location), it seems hes been set up. But by whom? What can be said is that a shadowy figure, The Zec (Werner Herzog), a scarred Soviet gulag survivor, lurks in the background, alongside Jai Courtneys henchman. Unquestionably, the casting of Werner Herzog is the masterstroke. Although not a first for the German director, never has he been in such a high-profile Hollywood film. Whatever next Michael Haneke in The Expendables 3? Still, enrolling Herzog as the villain is inspired thinking on McQuarries part; that unmistakable Teutonic brogue thats graced so many of his documentaries elicits multiple shivers when its welded to the character of The Zec. A chilling, ruthless creation, with not an ounce of pity in his bones, Herzog delivers his lines with absolute cold-hearted malice. But the trouble is, having crafted one of the most potentially memorable screen villains in recent Hollywood history, McQuarries adaptation never quite gets to grips with Herzog, who almost lurks too far in the films background.

It doesnt help that when he finally comes to the fore, in the films quarry-set finale, the action is so abrupt he barely has time to register. Its one of Jack Reachers few missteps, in what is an otherwise on-target thriller. Pike proficiently handles the testosterone-driven universe she steps into, while Robert Duvall arrives late for a welcome cameo. As for Cruise, he may be shorter than the 6ft 5in Reacher of Childs books a topic that vexed some fans but that doesnt deter from one of his most intense, determined performances in recent memory. From buzzing around town in a red Chevy muscle car to beating up a squadron of guys in a bar brawl, its Cruise at his most rough-hewn even if he does find time for a muted smile when a bus passenger lends him a baseball cap to evade police attention. Prioritising intrigue over body count, McQuarrie keeps the action clean and clinical, even if that troubled finale feels like a Call Of Duty free-for-all. The Hollywood rumour mill has it that he could be in line to direct Cruise inMission: Impossible 5; on this evidence, their click will be worth hearing again. Verdict: A superior thriller, with Cruise and McQuarrie slotting together like a bullet in a clip. Like Reacher on the firing range, the aim isnt always true but the misses are fractional.

8. Discussion
1. Example of Discussion Text "School Uniform"
Sunday, November 20, 2011 Discussion No comments What is discussion text? Discussion is a text which presents a problematic discourse. This problem will be discussed from different points of view. This kind of text is commonly found in philosophical, historic, and social text. Read the following example of discussion text! The Pros and Cons of School Uniform School uniforms are dress codes that are determined by the teaching institutions and students has to follow the designed code obediently everyday. Many people believe that school uniforms should be applied but the others don't. Uniforms have various advantages for both the family and the child. A united school apparel can relief a financial stress of the backs of many families. As kids tend to compete and imitate each other, the race of following new trends in fashionor, providing different attire for every school day is considered a financial burden, not every family can afford it. Additionally, a uniform creates a sense of equality between all pupils. Young kids tend to judge others according to their look and what they wear. Uniting their school attire will draw their attention to other criteria and, the only advantage of one student over another would be personality, academic achievement or being good at sports. On the other hand, as repetition can lead to boredom, children can get frustrated of wearing same thing to school every day. Also, prevent their first steps of individuality by taking away their right to choose what to wear on their own free well.

In conclusion, I believe uniforms arent meant to suppress the creativity or freedom of children. It helps redirecting kids creativity towards more important things than outer look, and waive fin ancial burden of their families.

2. Example of Discussion Text Hacker Do you know what a hacker is? Well, a hacker is a person who enjoys exploring the details of programmable systems on computers and they like to stretch the capability of the systems. And you know what, the activities they do in the computers are called hacking. So, whats the problem with hacking and its hackers? Well, the problem is whether hacking and its hackers legal or illegal? What I mean is that people in the world have many different views about hacking and the hackers. Some of them take sides, but many object. To get back to what I was saying previously, let us see the positive points of a hacker, shall we? Although in most places breaking into computer systems is considered illegal, I believe that hackers dont do anything illegal because they only want to know and try the systems. I dare to say that a hacker likes finding the strengths and the weaknesses of a computer system. They feel proud if they can find the weaknesses. So I dont really see the crimes in this case. In addition, these hackers sometimes help the police catch the white collar criminals, such as bank robbers, money launderers, credit card forgers. For example, in 2000, the U.S. hackers caught some Singaporean hackers who made Virus Love to break up the programs of the U.S. National Security system. Nevertheless, those who object to the good points of a hacker say that hacking is a crime. The reason is that some hackers use their brilliant skills to break into banks and other vital institutions where they can get money, destroy information, and the worst thing is they can get secret information and sell it to another country. This is a treachery. Take for example, in1994; the U.S. government broke a conspiracy of computer hackers out of Majorca, Spain. These hackers were responsible for accessing and eliminating 190,000 telephone credit card numbers over computer bulletin boards in America and Europe. Seeing this fact, I dont blame those who think negatively about hackers. To put the whole thing in a nut shell, I personally think that hackers are not bad people with their brilliant skills. However, they could be bad because of money orientation to get the wealth. Thats just the point.

1. KOMODO DRAGON Komodo, or commonly called Komodo dragons (Varanuskomodoensis). Komodo is the worlds largest lizard species that live on the island of Komodo, Rinca, Flores, Gili Motang, and Gili Dasami in Nusa Tenggara.

In the wild, an adult dragons usually weighs around 70 kilograms. The largest verified wild specimen was 3.13 metres long and weighed 166 kilograms. Komodo dragon has a tail as long as its body, and around 60 pieces of sharp serrated teeth along about 2.5 cm. Komodo has gray scaly skin, a pointed snout, powerful limbs and a muscular tail. Komodo dont have the sense of hearing, although having the ear hole. They use their keen sense of smell to locate decaying animal remains from several miles away. They also hunt other lizards as well as large mammals and are sometimes cannibalistic. Komodo dragons are carnivores. 2. Lion
The lion (Panthera leo) is one of four big cats in the Panthera genus, and members of the Felidae family. With some males exceeding 250 kg (550 lb) weight, it is the second largest living cat after the tiger. Wild lions currently exist in Sub-Saharan Africa and in Asia with a critically endangered remnant population in the Gir Forest National Park in India, having disappeared from North Africa and Southwest Asia in historic times. Until the late Pleistocene, about 10,000 years ago, the lion is the most widespread land mammal after the big man. They are found in most of Africa, in Eurasia from western Europe to India, and in America from the Yukon to Peru. The lion is a vulnerable species, having seen perhaps irreversible population decline of 30-50 percent over the past two decades in Africa range. Lion populations can not be maintained outside designated reserves and national parks. Although the cause of the decline is not fully understood, loss of habitat and conflict with humans is currently the biggest cause of concern. In Africa, West Africa, lion populations are highly threatened. Lions live for ten to fourteen years in the wild, while in captivity they can live longer than twenty years. In the wild, males seldom live longer than ten years, as injuries sustained from continual fighting with rival males greatly reduce their longevity. They typically inhabit savanna and grassland, although they may take to bush and forest. Lions are unusually social compared to other cats. A pride of lions consists of related females and offspring and a small number of adult males. Groups of female lions typically hunt to gether, preying mostly on large ungulates. Lions are apex and keystone predators, although they scavenge as opportunity allows. While lions do not typically hunt humans, some have been known to do so. Highly distinctive, the male lion is easily recognised by its mane, and its face is one of the most widely recognised animal symbols in human culture. Depictions have existed from the Upper Paleolithic period, with carvings and paintings from the Lascaux and Chauvet Caves, through virtually all ancient and medieval cultures where they once occurred. It has been extensively depicted in sculptures, in paintings, on national flags, and in contemporary films and literature. Lions have been kept in menageries since the time of the Roman Empire and have been a key species sought for exhibition in zoos the world over since the late eighteenth century. Zoos are cooperating worldwide in breeding programs for the endangered Asiatic subspecies.

PENGUIN

Penguin is one of kinds of bird which has special characteristics. They are famous animals in the world. Many people want to look them but the problem is people must go to hemisphere just to look penguins. Some scientists have gone to there and observe about penguin life style. All people agree that penguins are unique animals in this world. It can be looked from the part of their body like their mouth, their wings, and also their gait. Do you think that the gait of the penguin is so funny? They walk with unsteady their hip. If I look penguins are walking I laugh because I think the gait of the penguin is funny, do you think so? Im sure you have same idea with me, isnt it? Do you know the other special characteristics from the penguins? If you want to add your knowledge about life style of the penguins, lets read the information together. Penguins are family of Spheniscidae. They are a group of aquatic, flightless birds living almost exclusively in the southern hemisphere. Penguins have counter shaded dark and white plumage, and their wings have become flippers. They spend about half of their life on land and half in the oceans. Although all penguin species are native to the southern hemisphere, they are not found only in cold climates, such as Antarctica. Several species are found in the temperature zone and near the equator like Galapagos penguin. The eyes of penguins are adapted for underwater vision, and avoiding predators. Penguins usually get meat from the sea. They seek many meats as supply for several days. Penguins have a thick layer of insulating feathers which serve to keep them warm in water. The largest penguin name Emperor penguin has the largest body mass of all penguins, which further reduces relative surface area and heat loss. They also are able to control blood flow to their extremities, reducing the amount of blood which gets cold, but still keeping the extremities from freezing. They can drink salt water because their gland filters excess salt from the bloodstream. The salt is excreted in a concentrated fluid from the nasal passages. Perhaps most species of penguins are born with brown rather than black plumage. Penguin is kind of ovivar which produce egg. Most penguins lay two eggs in a clutch, although the two largest species, the Emperor and the King Penguins, lay only one. With the exception of the Emperor Penguin, in all penguins share the incubation duties. These incubation shifts can last days and even weeks as one member of the pair feeds at sea. Penguin eggs are smaller than any other bird species when compared proportionally to the weight of their parent. Penguins generally only lay one brood the exception is the little penguin which can raise two or three broods in a season. When mothers lose a chick, they sometimes attempt to steal another mother's chick. Penguins are popular around the world, primarily for their unusually upright, waddling gait and (compared to other birds) lack of fear of humans. In the mid-2000s, penguins became one of the most publicized species of animals that form lasting homosexual couples. Although penguins stay so far in southern hemisphere but many people want to look them. It is because penguins have special characteristics which can make them famous and

like by many people in the world. The special characteristics are like the form of their body, their gait, form of their egg and also their life style. So, penguin is an animal which has special characteristics and it makes the penguin different from the other bird in this world. There isnt any bird which can live in Antartica except penguin. Finally, we should give appreciation to the penguins which can live in coldest climate in the world like Antartica and equator.
