3. NatureVel - SW: Clover is manufacturing the most advanced organic certified composting agent called NatureVel - SW. This agent contains about 10 different microbes & herbal extracts that assists in composting. It has a shelf life of 12 months and does not need to be multiplied or activated unlike other microbial products. Samples of the same were distributed to all the participants. They were also introduced to Clovers supplier in Sikkim for any further demand. 4. Suggestions: At the end of the training program, suggestions were taken from all the participants. These suggestions along with suggestions from Clover have been consolidated below: a. A small room could be provided at the Block level to stock all the recyclable waste so that marketable volumes can be created and sold to the vendors. b. Vendors for various recyclable products like bottles (except beer bottles that can be sold to the breweries), cardboard, cans, plastic (of various types) can be identified to ease the process of marketing to them. c. NatureVel - SW be made available at the Block level by the department so that purchasing can take place easily. d. Composting instructions could be made available in Nepali language by the department. e. The compost made should have a local market. Agreements with Departments of Agriculture and Horticulture could be made for the same. This shall add value to Sikkim becoming an organic State. f. There is more waste generated in the urban and peri-urban areas. If a tie could take place with UD&HD department along with GMC so that entire waste is addressed, then it could make the whole process more economical and efficient. g. An action plan with a SWM policy for Sikkim should be created so that there is clarity and accountability of different stakeholders.
